Rashford isn't a tory, is he?
No. I was poking fun at the posters who call anyone who doesn’t rate Rashford a Tory. Maradona was also famously a bit of a socialist nutter and probably the biggest celebrity ever in Argentina. He did a lot for the poor. He counted Fidel Castro as an inspiration and close friend. fairly sure he had a che tattoo too.

I don't get. Many footballers and billions of people had a rough childhood. Many far worse than Rashford's. Like Ronaldo for example. But they don't milk it. He has completely fallen for the American dream.

Rashford wants to be the Giannis Antetokoumpo of football. The difference is that he is not as talented as Gianni and he does not have his work ethic.
Most footballers come from disadvantaged backgrounds, don’t they? With exceptions most are working class lads who have parents without a pot to piss in. Many of who do great work for charity.

Few of them come across like they’re miffed nobodies given them a Nobel prize yet

His PR team must be furious that Ronaldo joined us. They probably had all sorts of plans to market him the biggest player in the country but that's impossible with Ronaldo here.

His career has become a joke, everything about him seems so contrived and he just comes across as a tool for companies to use for PR purposes. Nothing about him is authentic anymore.

If Manchester United want to show that its bigger than the players then putting rashford on the transfer list would help. Can you imagine what the other players will think when they see the local lad getting kicked out for not focusing on football? It would also be a massive benefit to ten haag and show player power is coming to an end.

Be a great example to younger kids too as a warning not to let money and adulation go to their heads. The praise and attention he got for his charity work was the worst thing to happen to his development.

This is what Fergie meant when he tried to keep the younger players out of the spotlight - not that they’d end up naked, snorting coke every night with hookers hanging off every appendage - all immortalised in the News of the World. It was about losing focus, having their heads turned; the fear was they’d believe their own celebrity. Beckham sailed closest to that wind but his talent and work rate defied anyone claiming he was too far down that path but even he was sold in the end.

Marky Marcus (and the funky JLingz).

I have a faint hope that Ten Hag can resuscitate his career, but no belief. So disappointing how his career has turned out. I think both we and Rashford would be better off if he was sold this summer.

I tell you what though, with all of his off-the-pitch goodness and murals, he would help the Newcastle owners with their sports washing no end.

Worst PR team ever. Not even talking about only Rashford. His marketing team have made everything worse at every turn. Least wait till his play leaves rock bottom.

It really is like he and his team live in another planet.

When was the last time he had a good game, or did something positively on the pitch? as others have said form can drop, but effort should never. If anything the worse you play the harder you should try to make up for it.

Instead this sulking head case just strolls around the pitch conserving energy waiting for the chance to run onto a long ball. It's selfish as feck.

The match against Chelsea summed him up. He played LW but happily allowed Reece James all the time and space in the world. They doubled up on Telles and ripped him apart all first half.

Eventually we had to switch him and Elanga so somebody would actually attempt to contest him.

We then get these stupid murals and social media posts? does he seriously sit there after a game and think I tried my best? perhaps he's just surrounded by yes men that blow smoke up his ass all day.

Scored a last minute winner against West Ham a few months ago. Incredibly rare goal from him this season.

The last time he had a good game? Oof God. I really don't know. Been a long time

Cup game against Liverpool last season maybe?

Maybe the leipzig hattrick? surely something more recent than that but it's hard to think of anything that stands out.

I think that sums him up really.

I think the Leipzig game is the last time he was really outstanding yeah. In the 20/21 season he got a decent number of goals without playing that well generally.

This season, I honestly don't think he's had a single good game. He's been brutal.

I was just checking and of his 5 goals this season he scored 3 of them in his first 4 appearances of the campaign. He's scored 2 goals in 28 games!

Exactly, how can you ask for guaranteed game time when the last time you had a good game was 18 months ago. Also, its not like he doesn't get the chance, Ole used to put him straight back to the starting line up when fit.

Ralf has given him ample opportunities. As a footballer, if you are not in form, you have to do the basics right. Track your man, follow the managers instructions. Rashford is doing nothing, literally nothing on the pitch.

Then you get people like Sky talking shit when he's not chosen to play CF and we play Fernandes as a false 9. They just completely ignore the blind fact that Rashford has been awful, they always go off reputation.

It's no wonder his ego is through the roof these days. Honestly that doctorate was the worst thing that could have happened to him. He hasn't been the same since.

Bingo. If you aren't in form then work harder than everybody else. Run a little ffs. He barely ever makes turns his fullback and sprints off the ball, or makes 3rd man runs, gambles into the box.

Then you get to his defensive work :houllier: I would love to know what Rangnick thinks of him.

The worst thing about this is that has nothing to do with ability and form. To make runs, create space and help your team defend.

Yes on the ball if you're out of form, you can miss chances, tricks dont come off.

Look at Elanga, is he more talented than Rashford? not sure but tell you what he starts 100/100 over Rashford.

It's ego pure and simple. He struts around the pitch like he's cantona. Unfortunately United have quite a big part to blame for this. They've created a mollycuddled monster.

Yep, the club do have a lot to blame for this. However; Saka has been mollycuddled by Arsenal, they got a Saka wall for him but he's not let his ego take over, he is still performing on the pitch.

Ole has alot to blame on Rashford, the way he treated him was a bit crazy. Now a manager has come in and is treating everyone on their footballing ability, he doesnt like it.

We all love United
I missed the 18-21 year old Marcus Rashford. Fearless, youthful exuberance and just love enjoying playing football. The goal he scored against City at the Etihad where he skipped past Demichelis and then putting the ball in the bottom corner was a joy to watch

Another advert in the form of a mural. His head is so far up his own arse he sees himself as a messiah.

That's a symptom of a player that never had a competition on his place and now he thinks he's all of that....

That very last sentence is nothing short of embarrassing for a forward. Doesn't matter how many appearances are from the bench, even more so when I'm sure he's scored more from it than starting!

It’s a numbers game so he’ll get the opportunity to prove himself to the new manager. But I would hope if there was no glimpse of improved attitude and performance in the first few months of next season, he is shown the exit door. Still can’t believe I’m saying that but he has been atrocious for far too long now just to be a ‘blip’.

2 years back, I used to think here is a lad whose feet are well grounded, despite scoring more than decent number of goals at such a young age.

I'm not much for psychoanalyzing, but it's concerning that he no longer looks shifty enough to play on the wing. He might need to play in a 2 striker system at this point to get back on track, and that probably won't be here.

Probably didn't help that we threw a big contract at him, one that doesnt include many performance based incentives. Honestly it should be football contracts 101 - have a reasonable base salary but have tons for goal/assist bonus'... its not fracking hard!

Ive been wondering if playing long time in counter attack has made him lazier waiting for the ball and passes to come before he attempts to make a run in behind the defence.

It will be interesting to watch him under a possesion based manager again to see how he plays and if he is able to adapt to a teams overall tactic.

I also feel that he is fustrated with Sancho being a new LW who has hardly been used as a RW. Martial for example was a LW that was used as a CF so was rotated generally well with Rashford compared to Sancho who has hardly had a great season either.

This is a problem created by Ole. If he is right footed then any player should be able to put in a cross with his right foot. Be it Martial, Rashford or Sancho. They are all playing on the wing. Rashford is not the CF most of the time.
