Marcus Rashford back in the day of saf would of just been a squad player for a few years then moved on.
We spoiled this kid. Made him into the soft boy he is today. That was the style post saf. Hence players like pogba, lingard, rashford, jones, martial..rewarded without merit. Even rooney at the end. Saf set it up perfectly for us to ditch him in 2013. How many more years did he stay when he should of been moved on?
Let's face it. The glazers are the worst when it comes to being owners. Their motto was let saf do it. And he could.
But when he left, the vacuum was to much. It really showed how much control and power he had at United. Let's face it, been a disaster ever since he left.
And this notion that he should be responsible or was responsible to choose his replacement just shows the complete incompetence of the glazers.
In what world or what organization does a manger choose his successor? That's crazy!
If you told someone in 2012, that saf and gill would leave and we are going to promote Woodward as a replacement for Gill and moyes as a replacement for saf you would of thought that were bat shit crazy. Seriously you can't make this shit up cause no one would believe you.
Woodward was a disaster for this club. Forstering this mentality. Weak.

I don't disagree, Pogba was the more talented player. Sadly they share several similarities that led/are leading to the end of their OT careers. I compared Rashford to the class of 92 because they were mostly local lads whose journeys with united began at a much earlier age than the likes of Garnacho and Pogba for instance. Pogba came into his own at Juventus while the others became mainstays at the club after first team promotion, fully developed by the club. My major qualm is with what I see as revisionism when it comes to Rashfords contributions at the club. I know he's not going to get a good sending off, even though I wish the supporters will at the least just wish him well and move on without unnecessary and over the top bitterness.
I think O'Shea, Brown and Fletcher would've struggled in this United squad and Rashford would've starred in a Fergie squad. Don't you think Fergie would've got a prolonged tune out of Rashford?

They’re the same as any premier league player scoring against their own teams rivals, we haven’t been involved in a title race for over 10 years now, they’re hardly title deciding goals,
He’s scored a few goals on the way to clinching 4th, irreplaceable, labelling them “top 6” goals or whatever other nonsense you come up with doesn’t make them the be all and end all, they’re all games that are worth 3 points, the majority of the 38 he’s useless in
I wouldn’t be so sure but that’s pure speculation. He almost certainly would’ve had a very different career though.
I don’t think he had enough talent (and that’s not revisionism, I’ve always thought so even though there were a couple of moments during his career — right before the back injury and during the last purple patch — where I thought that I may be wrong) to be the main star for a Fergie team and his skill set is a bit limited to be a great fit for a dominant team. Young Rashford would’ve been an amazing sub for a Fergie team but that’s not a role that most would be happy to spend their entire career at. Fergie probably would’ve molded him into a very different, more all-rounded and team-oriented player… or, very likely, would’ve gotten rid of him fairly early, he was quite ruthless in that regard.
So yeah, it’s possible but it’s far from a given thing. If I was a betting man, knowing what we know about Rashford now, I wouldn’t bet on his success for Fergie… but then all of his negative attributes, especially mental ones, from the non-existing work rate to over accentuated stardom, may never have developed in a way that they did in our reality. But Fergie wasn’t a panacea and he cut ties with such players like that very early once he saw a potential issue. Young Rashford didn’t seem to have had these issues (technical limitations aside), at least not publicly.
He’s loving all this. Probably high fiving Lingard and Sancho during late night gaming sessions.
It’s hilarious that posters are arguing with you that Rashford definitely wouldn’t have remained more grounded under Fergie. Just completely disregarding our best ever manager’s biggest quality, I.e., man management.
Rivalries have nothing to do with current competing for the title. Its about past grudges.
Yeah mate I’m aware of how rivalries work, That’s not what you originally said, Chelsea and Spurs aren’t rivals, so why on earth are you talking about “big 6” goals against the likes of Spurs as if they’re something amazing?
Chelsea is a recent rivalry. It means something to younger people because of United Vs. Chelsea when Abramovic first took over and we were competing
Anyway your point was lunacy, obviously scoring against the higher placing teams in the league requires more than the teams who arent as good.
Chelsea aren’t a rival, Abramovic took over Chelsea when I was about 14 and I wouldn’t consider them as a rivalry,
And no it’s really not lunacy, scoring a 30 yarder like against City last season and then proceeding to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the game doesn’t require more,
But since we’re at it, let’s play by your rules, in his 24 games this season his goals this season are against Barnsley, Southampton, Ipswich, Everton and Porto

Yes. Our recent record against the top teams is very poor, with very few goals from any of our players Rashford included. But at least he has shown he can do it at some point

I'm tired of the whole Rashford saga. I had hoped that we wouldn't see him again and he'd be moved on in January. Yet here he is again, the cycle repeats, back in the squad after unacceptable behaviours.
He's there simply by default, due to suspension and injury. Would be surprised if he's used off the bench.
Fellaini always gave 100% for the club, it was indeed a disgrace.

Like many, I have been highly critical of Rashford, primarily his poor attitude and lack of work rate.
But the fact is that we need goals. We can not score and concede far too many.
So if he does get selected and if he does score, then I will bite my tongue.
But if he is selected and plays like he has been for far too long, then Marcus, you know where the door is.
I hope so. Regardless how this all goes, we're better than that ...

I feel like the fans will be ok with this if he plays, until it's clear he's pulling out of challenges, jogging around, turning back at the first sign of a defender etc., then it might get interesting.

We’ve been saying that since Sir Alex left and look where we’re at. At least we have that moral high horse when the players get clapped off after getting humiliated repeatedly.
