Rashford had the opportunity to buckle down and become a team player, but what did he do? He said he was ready for a new challenge. HE QUIT ON THE TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

He had the chance to get back into RA's good graces, but he burned all bridges by giving up and saying he wanted a new challenge. He is so thick and delusional that he thought he would have no problem going to another club. Oops.

Yeah-- he's been at training--- to avoid getting fined. So what? Every manager has had a problem with his attitude. That is the problem that will not be fixed.

You start a business, you hire someone with an attitude problem and watch as they infect all of your employees. You will be having none of it. Rashford is entitled and thought he could get away with it, but he just found out the hard way that RA is not a pushover.

Your thinking is what Rashford was thinking--- he was thinking he is better than other players, so RA will get him back in the lineup. Nope-- RA would rather start Hojlund than allow that cancer anywhere near the team again. That is great news-- we finally have a manager who has a pair of balls and is trying to change the culture of laziness and entitlement. Look at it this way. It's been about 2 months iirc since Rashford last played a single minute for us. Yet he trains every day and is usually at games, in the crowd because he's not even part of the squad. That's about 2 months of him at least showing up to training while having no hope whatsoever of playing a single minute or even getting in the squad. He was sat on the bench watching us get battered by Newcastle at Old Trafford. He looked miserable tbh.
Now in these 2 months of almost constant criticism by Amorim, are we supposed to believe that not once has he trained up to the expected standard?

I find that hard to believe because Højlund must be prime Ibrahimovic in training but that's not what we see on the pitch. Either way this saga is dragging on for too long, and Amorim is actually dropping Rashford's market value with comments like that. I'd be very interested in seeing what the club does if we they can't send him out before the window closes, 6 months or more of exclusion from the team? Will they try to still sell him after that? The whole situation is a mess.

So perhaps he's not being deliberately awkward and not trying at training, it's just how he is - and he's now annoyed that Amorim has called him out on it.

But, he also didn't seem to be trying when he was playing - so I don't know what is going on.

What happened, did Rashford just decide to stop running from one week to the next?

None of us know the full story and it's safe to say that neither of these guys are either all the way in the right or all the way in the wrong. But, at this point I honestly hope that if and when Rashford leaves, he turns into an absolute world beater for his new club.

Maybe a combination of less impressiv effort subsequently and that he just got more information from the club (including team mates)?

I struggle to believe that Amorim dont have support from the rest of the group of players.

Just go back and watch Rashford's last appearance before being dropped from the squad. Being bad is one thing, and God knows he's not alone in dropping a poor performance in this squad, but routinely giving up and showing zero willingness to work or graft is what's truly unacceptable.

He's been indulged in these behaviors for far too long and that's as much the club's fault as his own. Addressing it head on, especially at the start of Amorim's time at the helm is not just prudent, it's necessary as is the board backing the manager in this instance, especially since the other player who was dropped and also been floated in transfer rumors has apparently shown the necessary attitude and work ethic in training not just to be in the squad but also start 3 matches in a row.

I think in part there is a little bit of plausible deniability at play there from Amorim. As long as he's still allowed to train then the manager can say that he's left the door open for Rashford to improve his levels.

Totally freezing him out invites even more of the criticism that is on its way from the media and certain fans. Creates even more drama.
