With Sesko still recovering from injury, he is definitely an option as a CF.
All of this is true, although it has to be remembered that the wages of most (probably all) of our players go up 25% due to us being in the CL again. So it's not quite as easy as removing the wages of the players we've gotten rid of and adding the extra money we get from being in the CL (none of which we've actually got yet).

I think his best seasons were under Ole actually. Despite him scoring more goals under ETH that one season.
Agreed, it's been obvious with his performances and also that quote about him and Steve McClaren.

If he does come back, the only question is how long can he be bothered to make the effort for. Even during the World Cup, the biggest stage, we saw how he would fade after 15-20 mins. Not due to fatigue or injury, but a sense he’d done enough. It’s his mindset. He’s never stopped being like that school kid who will work really hard up until he thinks teacher has stopped paying attention then he’s back to mucking around again
His workrate at a micro and macro level is dreadful. He turns it on when he feels he has to; under the microscope, impressing a new manager, angling for a new contract. He quickly slips back into the pattern of taking his foot off the gas. It’s happens in games and seasons. Even when playing for a permanent move to Barcelona, by all accounts the same demons quickly resurfaced into his game. The laziness, the thinking that pressing is for other people. I know this place was full on “wow he scored a goal - unprecedented, right?” But the denial of the reality of why they rejected him, isn’t serious.
His whole career has been purple patches of form either in-game or over the season, sandwiched between long spells where he looks disinterested. He’ll probably score four goals in the opening couple of matches of the campaign and we won’t see him so much as press for the ball until February

We have seen him score loads of goals for us. We have seen him play at a really high level lots of times. Still at a good age. That quality should not come as a surprise.
We will probably not see him do relentless pressing like Amad if thats what we’re hoping for though.
I don't get this because it insinuates that Rashford is elite level gifted, and can just switch it on and off at will, I have never seen that with him.
Yes he is quick, has a great shot on him, the odd bit of top level skill, but to me he looks like he runs out of ideas very quickly in most games, and just loses confidence when his oppostie number takes the ball off him a few times. Not so much a lack of effort, more a lack of mentality, and a lack of being able to play a different way when frustrated in games.
The press/tracking back thing is glaring, but I still can't believe he just can't be bothered, it has to be more something he isn't as capable of it as alot of other players for whatever reason.
I'd prefer him sold, because overall he's a frustrating player to have in your team, and watching the WC just showed the same Rashford, but that's what I'm saying he is it what he is, so to become upset or angry with him for it is probably unfair at this point.
He's never been a good CF though. We've tried (countless times), England tried it and upon recently Barca tried it and it has never came off.
He's a LWF and that's it.
Let's see. Maybe he can have an Indian summer and we can sell him. Letting him rot is a waste of money and may devalue him further. His contract is up soon. He knows he has to do better to avoid going the way of Sancho.
He was quite decent when played there sometimes in the 22/23 season. But yeah, other than that he's always struggled as he doesn't have the all-round game. Simply can't hold on to the ball or win anything in the air, and the only thing he can really do is just constantly try to time runs in behind the defence every time we launch an attack. Which can be useful at certain moments, but overall it's far too limiting.

He's not Sancho or Garnacho he way he behaved but it'll still feel wrong or at least odd seeing him again in United shirt. Huge wage, not that impactful even as a sub... But guess his comeback is happening as no big club is in for him atm even for a loan.
Do you think this must be a real wake up call for him? Literally no one of note wants him, surely he’s looking at himself and wondering why not?

If he will not be a negative influence in the dressing room and happy to be part of the squad and mostly impact sub I would be alright with him staying. But cannot see him being happy with such status so sell or loan somewhere else.
Also, what's been reported regarding the clubs stance with Rash?
Ridiculous situation if he starts for us again. He's checked out and we want him gone. He was on the piss the other day on a yacht. He couldn't care less. You don't want that anywhere near the club.
Carrick needs to think carefully or risk the same fate as all the other Utd managers he’s played under.

When was it though? If its an old picture its a complete no issue. If its the past couple of days its simply idiotic from him
I can be as critical of Rashford as the next man , but surely he can enjoy should be allowed enjoy his holiday whatever way he wants , I don't see any issue with this. He was at training today on time and ready to go back to work.
