If Barcelona won't chuck a measly 25m quid on him then what are they doing? They won't find a better player for that money
They'll push for a subsidised loan again with no fee.
It’s posturing, those cheap fecks will want him for almost free.
Seeing how we buckled to Betis eventually, they’ll be offering 10m at the end of the transfer window.
Probably. I think we'll end up meeting in the middle sometime deep into August and he'll go permanently for 10-15m

I seen a rumour the other day that said PSG wanted to offer us Barcola in exchange for him. That can’t be true surely.
The fact rashford probably wants to stay there means we can't really bargain much. I think they'll definitely want to renegotiate the price, and Amorim isn't likely to play the 'we'll have him back' game either. It'll be peanuts unfortunately, but another loan doesn't suit us.
This loan isn't subsidised, but I agree another loan is the most likely outcome.

They’ve been long admirers of Rashford though. His time at Barca could make PSG get involved in a battle for him permanently.

They won't be offering Barcola though. Hes a quality player worth a hell of a lot more than Rashford. Theres no reason for a swap.
Yeah, this is the case, but people like to bad mouth the club so will come up with other random points to do so.
That cross of his is probably his best and most reliable skill that he has in his locker.

We were never getting £40 million because he’s not a £40 million player.
Betis were adamant they had no money and wouldn't be paying anything for him, we stood firm and got a decent amount, all things considered.
Even if Barcelona doesn’t go for him, if Rashford keeps playing well, there will be other suitors. PSG, Napoli, Dortmund might come in for him at end of season.
His wages will remain an enormous problem and he'll want paying off to leave permanently.

I suspect he goes on to prove he is worth at least half of what we paid for him..... especially when i see other fees

What he's worth if/when Betis come to sell him is irrelevant to what he was worth when we were selling him.
Half a good season on loan does not make a £40 million player when it was preceded by almost three years of inept performances.
His finishing has been poor recently but Barca still rely on him alot to alter game states. He came on and basically secured the win against Atletico Madrid and inspired the comeback vs Frankfurt in the CL after 4mins on the pitch. Barca won't get a better deal than this for Rashford and they'd be very silly to let him go when he's been influential in every important game they played this season.
Even in the losses against Psg and Real Madrid, Rashford assisted their goals. Needs to tune his finishing but he's been a brilliant signing for them. The weight of expectation is alot on him, no one considers that he's had to leave the UK for the first time ever, new language, new teammates and new league. The fact that he hit the ground running only speaks to his quality. Barca need to pay up though, we need that money + the Højlund fee from Napoli.

He'll still have two years left on his contract at the end of the season.
That, combined with Barca's financial woes makes another loan the most likely outcome, in my opinion.

Not sure about that. The only way Barca can count on him as part of the squad and get his wages down is through a transfer and new contract. Why would Rashford do it? Plenty others have done it.
It seems he is finding his feet. If he ends the season well integrated and with a compelling future to look forward to, the fallback of "if no deal I'll happily sit this out collecting my wages" becomes far less compelling than last Summer. There's clearly something tangible to be lost which wasn't there before
He has been around forever but don't forget he is only 28.
It's not just in Rashford's court to accept lower wages though. Barca have barely spent on transfers the last few seasons, and are almost certainly going to have to replace Lewandowski for next season.
£25 million is a bargain for him in his current form, but they simply might not be able to afford it.
If Rashford ends the season well integrated, it's far more likely that he'll push for another loan at Barcelona than accepting a move to another club, possibly in another country, where he'll have to start from scratch.
If United can see out the rest of his contract not paying another penny then surely that's a win? We've paid one season and a half of his contract Villa and Barca have paid the rest or there about. Sure we don't get a fee but in the grand scheme of things could be a lot worse, could have spunked 80m and 200k a week like Antony or Sancho.
That is precisely why he would now be more likely to forego his massive wages for something more agreeable, which in turn would give Barca further reasons to find those 25M.
He is still not free to stay at Barca, be it this season or the next. Last Summer we were dealing with an unhappy and out of form player on massive wages, it couldn't get worse for him so we had zero leverage. The prospect of returning him to that situation is now a source of strength for us, not him.
I don't think you understand how bad their financial position has been lately.
They've basically managed one proper transfer in each of the past three seasons, and that's with sales. Two of them were still in the €25-30 million range.
They are very likely to be replacing Lewandowski in the summer, and Rashford isn't that replacement. The budget is almost certainly going there.
If his heart is set on Barca, we're not really in a great position at all, in terms of getting a fee.
