Rooney scored 15 or more goals 11 out of his 13 seasons at the club.
Martial scored 15 or more 2 out of 6 seasons.
Martial averaged 13 goal a season at United and 4 assists.
Rooney averaged 19 goals a season and 11 assists.
I couldn't believe you typed this I'm going to screen shot this. This modern flimsy stat worshipping fan is EXACTLY my point!
If you felt this helped your argument I cannot believe this, but that's the problem with modern stats guys.
Nobody comparing Martial's and Rooney's ability directly (they played in different teams, different times, different managers), the point of the post is to highlight
support! He has contributed positively to United no matter what you think, and that's a fact. He wouldn't be closr to a ton otherwise (He's made our top 20 Goalscorers
ever (16th) for a reason).
Fans "in the real world" who I've had the pleasure of supporting with over the years; have stuck by the Luis Saha's of the world, Alan Smith, Dimitar Berbatov and yes Wayne Rooney (the only one above Martial since you love stats so much) who all went through some very difficult periods. All different playing styles still stuck by em.
But since coming out of lockdown and no longer have to support the club online as much anymore; there's always that positive.
Thank God Ole is not as thickle as our fanbase.
