The coaches were not great, they were simply adequate. Rashford and Martial both have never hit the heights under van Gaal, whom I otherwise diss. Martial especially has lost a yard of pace and can no longer be considered the speed demon that he used to be. The team has grown better, due in part to Solskjaer, but the strikers have been wearing the proverbial Emperor's clothes so far. They were found out by Copenhagen and Sevilla and they will be outclassed in the Champions League next season.
I’m not sure you watched us play this season. Take the season as a whole and both Rashford and Martial have had their best season in both of their careers.

I'll go one step further to smash that pathetic logic.

Kieran Mckenna came from Tottenham a few years ago. He was a promising player who had to wrap up his career due to injury. So he carried on at Tottenham as a youth coach. He then caught the eye of Pocchettino. Who likes wonderful flowing style of football and most on here rate as a better coach than Ole. Guess what? Mckenna was highly rated by Poch. Mckenna learned a lot from Poch as well.

There are levels to this. He's highly rated and his tactics are only now coming to fruition. Amidst all the unrest at Old Trafford under Mourinho, another world class coach who rates Mckenna, training was never the problem at United.

Mckenna is a rising star. Now... would I still want more coaches for specific plays? Yes. I'd like a coach who specialises in defenders playing out from the back and linking up midfield. Mckenna might be that, but he's got the whole team to worry about.

Now imagine if McKenna's name was "continental". Noone would be complaining here.
Exactly, Mckenna hasn't worked with Ole, and he has decided to keep him. He is a very highly rated coach.

Agreed, we need a coach maybe to help the defensive side of things but dont dismiss our coaches because they are not continental.

I am convinced we will see a better team this season.

They hit 62 goals combined with two of them having had injuries problems and one essentially playing half the campaign as a starter. Also they had Lingard and Pereira for service in most games. What more could you want? They will be even better next year with much better midfielders and AMs to service them.

Martial from January on has been absolutely fantastic. Rashford until his injury was having his best season not just in terms of goal scoring but general play. It’s as if you don’t watch football but just look at post match reports.

Why is Southgate allowing him to talk the press?

What more could I want? You're saying that as if the strikers have been great. Is this what you see as great?

I would say they have been very much improved and with the much better service they will have next season they will be even better.

Martial has regressed. There have been many players in this league who have flattered to deceive.

Rashford was coming back from Injury.
Martial was fantastic post lockdown.
Greenwood only became a starter post lockdown.

They will improve, they are not 28/29/30 years old.

Post lockdown was a glimpse of the football we can play.

They had their best season due to the improvements in the team. They personally haven't improved. They scored goals but not away against the best teams.

What have they done on the training ground for you to judge them to only be adequate? (Or otherwise)

What have you seen to say Martial has lost a yard of pace?

Found out? They had off days in front of goal.

Premier League clubs couldn’t figure them out but the mighty Copenhagen have  :houllier:

He’s talking utter shit. Possibly on the WUM considering how poor his comments have been.

Both of them have scored at Stamford Bridge and the Etihad this season. Martial has also scored at Molineux. I see that this has already been pointed out to you.

Could be a bit premature of me, but assuming we signed Sancho... As the season goes on, I actually think it'll end up being a case that Martial & Rashford find themselves being subbed / benched more for Greenwood to come on / start rather than Greenwood rotating with Sancho.

It's ridiculous how their entire season has been rewritten based on 2 games at the end of the season by some

I'm afraid I'll let the upcoming season do the talking for me. This positing stuff takes a lot of time. I'm not trying to steer trouble. I only report what my eyes see.

What do you mean by Martial regressing, I agree he was somewhat more explosive in his first season and even that has been returning during the last third of the season. The rest of his game he made significant improvement on last season.

As for Rashford and Greenwood anyone who says they've not improved clearly did not watch a lot of united last season

Amazing how Greenwood has developed the way he has while being surrounded by apparently not good enough coaches.
If he was surrounded by Pep and his coaches he would have by now already won the ballon d‘or like all the other youngsters at City.

Have you not seen how well Phil Foden has developed?
Did you not see how Sancho developed under pep?

Yes because those two are „all the other youngsters at City“. Foden is on the right way, but Sancho for sure got all his ability and progress by being under Pep for as many as 1 whole year!
Greenwood‘s development so far at United has been at least as impressive for an 18 year old which suggests our coaches have been doing a great job here.

Was meant to be a sarcastic comment.

I do not see where some fans come from with this, when Manutd is probably one of the best at providing a pathway into the first team in Europe to play for a big club.

Ouch. Difficult to see the sarcasm sometimes amongst so many negative posts

Why not let the season just gone do your talking? Or is that because the season just gone silenced you?

I don't think he has the best physical, tactical, and psychological coaches to serve his cause.
Just because its the champions league winning, baby faced but sometimes angry assassin, solskjaer, doesn't mean we have to lie and say he has the best coaches available around him. They may be good but there is probably better available.

Look, yet more Ole bashers clutching onto straws

Ole has his drawbacks but coaching strikers is NOT one of them.

Martial, Rashford were going nowhere under Mou and has had their best season under Ole in recent years. Greenwood has been managed superbly.

Haaland, the guy who is doing well at Dortmund right now, also learnt his trade and developed under Ole.

That's my boy. I kind of liked 26 though, thought he would make it his own. Like Ole 20.

Once he scores 26 in the league he'll go back to it. Unless he hits 11 assists which would make things more complicated.

Exactly! Give it to a homegrown player who will be a star and knows the dna of the club.
I’d never normally consider this to be significant but surely when Ole was deciding on the changes, he thought the same thing. Must’ve been told something...

You guys realize this will be his 3rd season right ? His debut was that PSG game.
That's crazy when you think about it. Also great way to start your pro career, at the highest level.

Maybe if Sancho was coming. But he's currently the best RW at the club.
If we don't get Sancho this summer it's not all bad. Mason played brilliantly with minimum experience, more time will only better his progress and all-round game before moving into the middle.

Translation: I have nothing to back up my views, but I'll just bow out of this argument by saying something tantamount to 'You'll see, you'll all see!!', which isn't an argument but just a shifting of the goal posts o far into the future that people will forget I was chatting breeze.
