This. Zero sympathy for him. Are the 'we all did dumb shit when younger' brigade out to defend him again?
And yeah because that's how we have to view it. He should rightly get reprimanded and told never to do it again, but its a bunch of naive mistakes. Therefore his career isn't over because of the 'he's young dumb and full of cum' excuse. You hold younger people to different standards.

Also, honestly Laughing gas is soooo minor, I'm sure many on here, in England at least, have tried it once.

He's done nothing like what Grealish has done though so I don't see the comparison.
Grealish inhaled hippy crack. Thats the only reason Gareth Southgate hates him. Mason Greenwood inhales hippy crack .Do you think Southgate should apply the same standards to Greenwood?

What???

Grealish drank so much he was photographed passed out on a street in Spain a few years ago.

Then there was the breaking quarantine and allegedly (but really) crashing his car while under influence. You know the time he was photographed with one flip flop and one slipper on?

EDIT: And it's laughing gas. Don't make an eejit out of yourself by calling it 'hippy crack'

I know I'll get reprimanded for insulting the poster and not the post, but you're such a wet fish.

What he needs is to do is to ditch the so-called friends who are selling stories and footage to the gutter press.
Or you know, don’t inhale nitrous while someone is filming you when you’re a high profile professional athlete? Same reason you don’t smuggle girls into your room (and let them film you) when you’re on tour with the national team and it’s the middle of a fecking pandemic. Starting to worry this lad is a bit thick...

Footballers are generally pretty stupid. Young men with shit loads of money. However, he’s got the right people around him at Utd, so he’s more likely to be fine, than not. Not something to be worried about.

Social media has caught out actors, politicians, and sportsmen alike. He's young and naive to the dangers of the snakes around him.

Do they call it hippy crack to make it sound more edgy, because they're worried people will realise "man inhales laughing gas" is a complete non story?

People here defending Greenwood for inhaling hippy crack but condemning Grealish for the same offence. Get real. I like Greenwood but whatever is coming out of his camp is indefensible. Just accept the boy is on the verge of losing the plot. He ain't a stranger to that kind of lifestyle. Ravel Morrison is still a living example of what happens when you lose focus. Greenwood is in danger of going down that path. Do people on here still defend his stupidity or call it out for whatever it is?

No double standards here.

Who here condemned Grealish for taking laughing gas?

You're making false equivalences. Are you fully aware of Morrisons situation?
Because even more so than Grealish, there's no comparison.

I don’t question his character. A young man who has made mistakes.

The Sun are a fecking disgrace. Found someone else to pick on now they can't target Sterling? Always the young black lads, not a word on Foden.
So it’s The Sun’s fault that Greenwood is continually breaking lockdown laws in his professional and personal life, and inhaling stuff that can’t help his profession or health?

In less than a week, we’ve seen evidence of 3 idiotic incidents of when he’s been caught; there will be plenty that hasn’t or won’t come out.

What is becoming crystal clear is that he has many habits that will destroy his career unless he makes many changes to his life.

BTW: Foden has got it plenty.

Thing is that's definitely an old clip, Mason's nowhere near as bulked up as he is now. Which means either the Sun have been sitting on this for a year hoping for the best time to fan the flames. Or his mates have looked through their snapchat memories and sold him out for some money at a moment of weakness

Who fecking cares what he does in his free time? He isn't hurting anyone. Yes, the Sun are a fecking disgrace and it's none of their business what he gets up to.

That’s a nice few cheap life lessons early on for Mason, hopefully he’ll learn from it. People are going to try and catch him out because of who he is. All fairly innocent stuff. He seemed fairly humble this summer during the games but what do we know really? If he’s a party boy we better get used to this kind of stuff coming out... but I’d say it’s another storm in a teacup.

Kids his age think they're invincible and that Covid-19 isn't a threat to them. That's why the disease is spreading so quickly in that age group. When all his peers are doing the same thing, it's easy to get swept up in the current. Snapchat/Instagram are so ubiquitous, he probably didn't even think twice about the girl having her phone out. I bet if Foden or Greenwood had been separated, neither would have done what they did.

In any case, laughing gas is about as dangerous as drinking an espresso. And pre-marital sex is nobody's business.

He needs to learn how to be more private when he does these things. Let's be honest, most single footballers are doing it as well. Testosterone fuelled alpha-males aren't that different from each other. The others are simply better at not getting caught. Greenwood just happens to be exceptionally young for this level of expectational fame in this era of exceptional public intrusiveness.

He's guilty of being a teenager and being filmed while doing it.

The negative effects of nos are so overplayed. Yes if you smash probably 4 balloons in a row without stopping for air you could die, but the way most people do it is so fine.

It's a weak-ish rush. Like a strong cup of coffee or two. Less addictive than caffeine, though. Less dangerous than alcohol, too.

The dose he took was less than you'd get at a dentist.

Disappointing that he's in the spotlight again for doing something stupid. Does make you start to question his character.

Like @Pogue Mahone said, he's just starting to come across a bit thick now.
Very very disappointing indeed, and he does come across increasingly thick.

His folks need to get hold of him and put him back on a leash.

Yeah pretty much. Nothing that bad. You expect most footballers to be pretty thick, especially when they're 18 and suddenly happen upon loads of fame. He'll grow up. Season definitely needs to start for him so he can get his focus on football again though, this was his first summer basically as a professional so naturally was going to be a lot of focus.

Umm you're underselling it, or you haven't done it properly. Its a very intense 15 second euphoric high that can often cause auditory hallucinations, warped perceptions of time and then subsequent laughing if the group you're with is fun - its great.

 Ffs. People condemn Grealish for things like drinking and driving (one of the dumbest things you can do, illegal, dangerous to your own life and the life of others) at a house party the day after a massive lockdown started in the UK when everyone is freaking out.

Ravel Morrison hung out with criminals, stole from fellow United players in the locker room (allegedly), and regularly got involved in illegal activities.

Greenwood met up with a girl at his own hotel in Iceland 6 months after covid started for a hook up, and then a old video of inhaling balloons came up (not illegal). Its called perspective. Some is drastically needed here.

The perspective is he needs to cut out all these stupid incidents because the press will be out for him and he won’t be able to handle the noise, and that will blunt his career.

He is an idiot but again he is young. He will learn from this hopefully. George Bernard Shaw said something like: Youth is wasted on the young. I believe that is true.

Hope Greenwood has his head on straight. With every youngster you seemingly first hear that he only loves football and is a down to earth lad (not saying he isn't), and then over time the mentality issues start coming to the fore. Greenwood is very young and has done a few silly things so it shouldn't be an issue, but for his and our sake, let's hope he develops into a mature professional over the next 3-4 years

He also has to note that he's Manchester United's new golden boy, which means that he'll be targetting for the slightest misstep (and otherwise). So one has to have a thick skin to deal with that as a lot of the noise will be irrational.

Who gives a feck about the press? He'll need to learn to handle the noise because he's a striker playing for Manchester United and is labeled a future star. The noise will be there regardless of what he does, as we've seen. Was there for Rashford as well a couple of years ago, despite being the footballers version of a Saint.
