Mason Greenwood, Marseille Footballer | Read the thread rules in the OP before posting

In fairness, Pete is very good at calling lower league transfers early, but I very rarely see him call anything Prem related. Pretty sure he used to work for Sky for a fair bit so might still have some connections. Surely not going back for Mason.

Ye keep telling yourself that. He’s scored more goals than all our attack combined.
When you’re not brown-nosing him in here are you off posting about how Harvey Weinstein made some banging films?

Trump negotiations for greenwood

He used to be a soccer player, good enough to go pro days his mom, no figures like it

He looks at geeenwood and sees himself in him

I was thinking more about the impact on the family of the level of discontent needed for a club to agree a deal and then backtrack - it would have to be huge levels of fan protest, media scrutiny, paparazzi etc

And if you think it through, let's say Marseille fail to sell him in summer - he'll probably get a free transfer a year down the line with an even bigger payday

Anyway like I said, I'm mostly bothered about what's best for Manchester United and that's a big sale this year with sell on clause

I don't expect him to come back at this point
It does seem as though you're using the family as a shield at this point, to be frank.

As for the first point, I was originally posting under the assumption that a bigger team will come in for him, but you're right, in an ideal world nobody touches him with a bargepole and he wastes away for the rest of his career playing for an average Marseille side.

Never heard of the guy. I’m purely talking about football… anything els is irrelevant.

He’s been tap dancing like that since the beginning. Why I refuse to listen to the podcast anymore.

An ideal world for me is a big move and sell on clause for our transfer kitty

Highly unlikely this is true. If it is, this guy should be put on tier one.
TBF all he says is that it's been discussed and I'm sure it has seeing as the club still own 50% of him - he's not saying the club want to bring him back

No way this is true but from a purely footballistic view he's an absolute beast. 21 goals 5 assists last season, 15 goals and 4 assists this one. Those are worldclass numbers.

They aren't anywhere close to world class for a forward imo, especially one who plays in the French league.

It‘s in the farmer‘s league United fans make fun of 24/7.

For reference, Greenwood got 21 goals from 34 matches and a 33 year old Lacazette got 15 goals from 30 matches. They scored 7 and 5 penalties respectively.

I don't think they are world class numbers when you look at who else is scoring in Ligue 1

That's true, but if you look at the kind of strikers that went for 70-80m last summer, I'd say he's a cut above
And if he hadn't been a shitehawk he'd be going for even more than that. But that sort of thing is going to reduce your appeal and therefore price.

Thats one way to put it, another one would be saying he was joint top scorer along with Ballon D' Or Dembele playing for a much weaker side than PSG.

I know what he did was awful but his football talent can't be denied. He's truly class such a shame because he could had been a great players for us and england but it aint happening no more.

He had a very good second half, too bad his teammates are subpar.
No he didn't. He had a good ten minutes but beyond that drifted around, failed to track back or close down and generally looked pretty uninterested when he didn't have the ball.

I'm a little bit surprised about the majority of the United fans not wanting him back. What he did was clearly fecking awful, no doubt about that. But, if I go by the posts in the general forum, the majority of the posters seem to be progressive, leftist minded and I would think second chances are normally part of that mindset. And I know, apart from abusing his girlfriend, he also seems like a proper cnut, but that goes for plenty more football players.

He's had a second chance, he's playing professional football in Marseille. Doesn't mean we have to accept him back.

He's getting a second chance. And he didn't deserve one anyway but good luck to him. He's bloody lucky to be playing for Marseille and he doesn't need any more chances.

I think the thing stopping him from playing the "second chance, I've learned my lesson" card is the lack of accountability in the first place. He never got found guilty in a court of law, never served a punishment, and perhaps even more crucially never actually admitted what he's been accused of. How can he pretend he's grown or whatever, if he can't even show remorse in the first place?
