One of our best players in the first half. Strange strange substitution unless he’s injured.

He finally plays well and still gets subbed anyway. Ten Hag needs to understand that Mount can play as a number 10, just like Bruno. He adds alot to our press as well, covers about 3 men by himself.

Best I’ve seen him play for us… if he wasn’t injured that sub is mystifying

2nd game in a row we've lost all control after he's gone off, mental.

I understood taking him off for Zirkzee, but we can’t press half as well without him. His work in the opposition half is levels above the rest of the team bar Garnacho and Amad when it comes to winning the ball back.

The difference in how easy we are to play against when he goes off isn't good at all.

You'd think we were playing prime Barcelona and took off Park Ji Sung at half time.

With him on the pitch we look better in the press and in possession.

But the CF-less formation also looks toothless, so someone has to come off when we play one of Hojlund or Zirkzee.

Given how bad Rashford has been I might be tempted to try dropping him and shift one of Bruno/Mount out wide, but then they might not be as effective out there anyway.

Not sure what the solution is, but that's two games in a row where we looked visibly worse having taken him off.

I know it’s laughed at but I genuinely think Bruno would have been better in the positions that Rashford and Amad were in today. They got a load of space. One of the wingers should have come off for Zirkzee

He may well be the best presser alive and we may well look more comfortable on the defensive side when he’s on the pitch but he’s a total non-entity when we have it. He’s not creative, he’s not much of a goalscorer, and he’s not a player who can take players on and carry the ball forward.

He’s a specialist skillset of a player who we signed for far too much money and gave an (well, former, I guess) iconic shirt number to.

We look a worse team without him. Very good player.

Fairly good half, concerned about why he was brought off. Injury? Because we could have done with his energy in the last 10 mins when Casemiro and Mainoo were running on fumes and we'd taken him off so he wasnt available to come on

Another overall unimpressive showing from Mount save for being good in the press. I do think his halftime sub was harsh and I don't think he'll start against Liverpool next week

We look a better team with him on the pitch, that's all you need to know. He's not a flashy player but he's important when it comes to how we're looking to play.

I really would give him a go off the left because we won't be able to keep this strikerless formation in games where we need to break teams down.

I mean he is a decent goal scorer and creator. Not just a presser. His time in Chelsea is all you need to look at. He made some great passes today that opened up a lot of space for our players to exploit but failed to do, and he also linked up very nicely with Bruno on several occasions.

We looked much more comfortable in possession with him in the team too as opposed to how we looked when he went off.

Did absolutely nothing with the ball, who fecking cares if he pressed well.

Really struggling to see how he and Bruno can possibly play in the same team. We are nowhere near the type of team to be able to play with no striker and be successful. That is so hard to do

Lingard vibes all over again. And fans reactions are the same as with Jesse. "Pressing maschine" and "nice linking up".

He doesn't create, he doesn't score, he doesn't dictate tempo. 60 million and no7 for pressing and quick one-twos. Great piece of business.

You're going to get so much hate for this but couldn't agree more.

Over the course of his entire career, he is an average goalscorer and a creator. He had one very good season in 21/22 which was over 3 years ago.

Since then he has been marred with injuries and there is no illustration either from the eye test or the underlying stats that he will ever continue that form from a long time ago in regard to his on the ball work.

We scored two goals when he went off, one disallowed.

So what exactly did he do right.
Because of individual brilliance by Amad. We also had one disallowed when he was on the pitch as well. But that’s not the point. The point is we were much better as a team when mount was on the pitch.

I've never been a Mount fan but I can see that in the last couple of games his pressing has been crucial to us tactically. Subbing him off is killing us. Stop doing it.

But if we are better with him than without him, should we make an angry decision to leave him out ?

The biggest problem is how do we start with both Bruno and Mount. This is why the transfer was so weird. Two players who are best in the same position.

We are not going to be a top team with them both starting.

Yes. Either him or Bruno. What is your suggestion when we get a starting striker? Should we continue with Bruno as a false 9 or should we move Mount back to CM? Does that sound like a winning strategy?

Only thing that makes sense for me wmfor that to work would be to bench Kobbie and play Mount in his position and since I can't see that happening, Mount will end up on the bench

Unless there is a plan for a change of formation when everyones fit and bedded in. 3 at the back.

Team can't afford having him. Because with him you must play without striker. And then we don't create. We have some kind of control but that is it.
He would be great to have if you can play with 12 men. As i said; he can't play holding midfielder, he can't play central midfielder and in attacking mid position Bruno is way more better.

I ask myself would I want his pressing and little else or a proper midfielder to control and create?

The answer is obvious. Icing on the cake would be if he is injured again, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
