If you cost a lot of money just spend it on getting better muscles innit.I’m not sure that’s how this works

Which would you go for 4 arms and 4 legs or 0 arms and 8 legs?I suppose in the same way that the more money you spend on a prostitute, the more limbs you'd expect her to have.
55 million in the last year of his contract.. does that mean we valued him north of 70 mil?

I'm still clinging on the hope he could be a good signing for us. On paper he seems perfectly suited for one of the two AM roles in Amorim's system. If (big if) he can stay fit, I can see him being a pivotal player for Amorim.
I’ve been saying this for the last year and half. It seems like he’s just a crock at this point unfortunately. I like him as a player a lot. He’s intelligent and hardworking and isn’t a flash clout chaser off the pitch. His fitness is absolutely appalling though. Like Rashford has played his way from a starting role in the national team to being more or less fully out over the last two years
Its weird because at Chelsea he was one of their more robust players.. come to United and he is injured.
Its hard to judge him because he hasn't had a spell of 3/4 months of being fit.
I can see him fitting into Amorim's system really well.

Can I ask how you rated Mount under Tuchel when he played virtually the same system as Amorim plays if I remember correctly. I think it was Mount and Havertz in the 2 AM positions and my recollection is he was very good? That's definitely in the region of what Chelsea valued him at. I think we even tried to demand that fee at the start of the window but United didn't bite.

He's a very good mover and has tactical intelligence which partly explains his pressing stats being so good. I had real hope for him. Shame about the injuries.Looked fresh and lively. Did a nice little shimmy in one particular move.
He's a good player and I hope he's over his injury issues as I feel Amorim can get good form out of him.
Pretty sure there were three clubs open be signing him for around that amount. Us, Liverpool and arsenal. He chose us, unfortunately .That was ridiculous though. Asking for £70m was clearly just a negotiating tactic, which worked as United were stupid enough to then think they’d got a good deal at £55m. You’d have been absolutely desperate to get rid of him at the end of the window/January in the circumstances where he’d have been going for nothing 12 months later.

They wouldn't have signed him until January at the earliest. Mount would have opted for either one of them. Under INEOS the deal doesn't happen.Pretty sure there were three clubs open be signing him for around that amount. Us, Liverpool and arsenal. He chose us, unfortunately .

It's getting a bit boring in here constantly reading about how much he cost while in the last year of his contract. We know a mistake was made and we were ripped off under the previous ownership but can we not just move on and discuss his performances. I'm glad to see him back and quite looking forward to what he might possibly do in a system under Amorim which he's performed well in before. Players fitness and injury record under ETH was atrocious so I'm giving nearly everyone a clean slate
He was involved last night and I thought he did ok. Just don't think it adds anything to the discussion to instead bring up mistakes made in the past under previous ownership buying him in the first place and instead we should look forward to what he could do with a fresh start. I haven't gave up on him just yet as ETH system ran players into the ground and had our treatment room permanently overflowingHow can we discuss his performances when he’s always injured?! It’s just a matter of time until he’s out again.

I would of course like to see all our players fit and well. I don't think he's the required standard for Man Utd, but within this group he does seem to offer something a bit different, potentially. He was involved last night and I thought he did ok. I voted him POTY two years running, that's how I rated him. I don't actually think he played in the 8 much under Tuchel. He played there exclusively under Lampard, but Tuchel preferred a back 3, the midfielders were Kante and one of Jorginho/Kovacic, so Mount and Havertz, previously the two 8s/10's, were moved to the front 3, which is pretty much were he stayed until Tuchel left. His last year at Chelsea, after Tuchel left, he was in and out of the team, injured often.
Looking back on clips from a couple of years ago, I noticed he slender he was, and how quick and agile he was. He seems to have bulked up quite a bit the last 2 years, and he also seems to have lost a yard of pace, perhaps due to all the injuries. The very little I've seen of Mount at United, he looks bulkier, slower, less agile etc. Hopefully staying fit and getting consistent game time, he can regain some of that back.
No none of those clubs ever made moves for him and wouldnt have spent anything like what we did on him. Liverpool got mccalister whose wages will be less than half mounts and fee a lot lower despite him being betterPretty sure there were three clubs open be signing him for around that amount. Us, Liverpool and arsenal. He chose us, unfortunately .
He scores nowhere near often enough to take up one of only three attacking positions.I'm still clinging on the hope he could be a good signing for us.
