Really hope he seizes his chance today. Injuries have ravaged his 2 seasons here but I think we can still get a lot of good use from a fit and confident version of Mount.

He's woeful. One goal doesn't change that. Top 3 worst signings post SAF.
Absolutely this. Højlund, Sancho, Antony, and Onana are all comfortably better signings.Unfortunately he’s the worst comfortably.
Cost an absolute fortune when we needed to spend in other areas, is one of our highest paid players and wears the #7. Is never fit, and last regularly played football 3 years ago…

He did good today, scored a goal and created a very good chance that Garnacho should have scored.
We have to get there first.I'm calling it. He is scoring a winner in EL final.![]()

I knew people would cite the CL. Djimi Traore must have been top quality too then.
Winning a cup competition doesn’t mean Mount was a viable candidate for a spot in the attack in a top team. Chelsea were distinctly average in the league that season but Tuchel created a solid but reactive set up that saw them reach the finals of the CL and the FA Cup. But if you’re looking to build a team capable of challenging for the league, it’s laughable to think that Mount can fill an attacking spot. He doesn’t and has never had the attributes for that. It’s not just about 1v1s. He has average pace, he doesn’t make runs in behind, he’s an average dribbler and he doesn’t have the guile in his movement of a Jota or Trossard for example. His finishing was decent and he was good from set plays but he’s never been prolific from open play. You’re describing a player that’s never existed.
I mean Mason is up there but I'll raise you Alexis Sanchez as our absolute worst signing.
Damn near double Mason's wages at £500,000 per week with only 5 goals in 45 appearances over 2 years.
Personally hope he gets offloaded in the summer along with Sancho, Antony, Shaw and Rashford.
Can you read? If so, surely you can see that I was replying to you and another poster? And if you have even basic comprehension you'll see that I was listing the reasons why I don't think he's a credible option in the attack. This is a classic example of a poster reading a post without context and making his view of what people are saying.
You have replied to my post with alot of stuff so I would like to challenge it.
1. Where have I said Mount is a top player?
2. Where have I said Mount starts in a league winning team for us?
The bolded part, says I describe a player... can you highlight where in my post suggests he is a top dribbler, prolific from open play.

I didn’t say he was poor so please don’t put words in my mouth for cheap digs. I said he’s not suited to playing in attack. This is a the same Mason Mount whose attacking contribution has been widely questioned for most of his career but now you want to pretend that he was some elite attacker. And you’re acting like I didn’t watch him?
I didn't think quoting multiple posters on here would be an issue as I assumed most people on here can read. My bad.Thats a you problem... replying to multiple posters who are not saying the same thing....
So instead of making things up about what I think of Mount.. next time read and reply to the right one then.
If you are just listing reasons why he can play, why quote me?

I quoted you as you both cited the CL win as a reason why Mount can play in attack. I thought this was obvious but I didn't realise you had the comprehension of a toddler. Next time I'll use short words and sentences so you can follow the conversation at your own pace.![]()
Sanchez also came in and disrupted Martial and Rashford on the left when they had a good thing going iirc.
Valencia was good to very good. Rafael was fun, and good for some spells. Ando was fun, but ultimately too erratic and injury derailed his career. Overall, yeah, you're right. That is true. An absolute nothing player but so was Falcao, Possebon, Verón and Di Maria. Tevez was alright but turned into a cnut. We've had terrible luck with South American players
