His best performance at the club by a country mile, both of his goals were genuinely world class.

I've always said there's a good player in there, he works hard, is tactically astute, follows instructions well, and has the technical ability. The big question mark is around his fitness, but if he can stay fit and get a run of games he could be a really important player in our system.

Two wonderful goals. Would be great if he can continue contributing. A player I’d really like my opinion of his level to be proved wrong.

Grinning like Amorim after that cameo, he changed the game for us. Just wish Amass could have finished his chance from Mount’s flick, would have been some goal.

These are Mason Mount's Premier League stats/rankings from 2020-21 and 2021-22 with Chelsea. In 2021-22 he scored 11 goals and had 10 assists in the Prem. He has weaknesses, sure, but if he can find full fitness consistently again, he's proven that he can be a very good player. If I saw us linked to a player with those kind of stats I'd normally be very excited.

Now we just need to make sure he eats his vegetables..

Well done Mason - I've never rated him much but after tonight, I might need to review that!

Mason Mount Making Many Memories Meaning Most Men Must Minimise More Moaning Malfeasance

Great cameo and two very good goals.

Three goals in a week, hopefully this is the start of something. It’s the first time in his United career he’s had any momentum whatsoever. Let’s hope it continues.

Fully fit and in form he’s an asset in this system. Who knows if we will ever see that consistently but he was excellent and goals were brilliantly taken.

If this is the start of something special then well played mason.
Seems like he has all the “minerals” to make an exceptional player. Let’s hope he pushes on because that was outstanding

What a complete 180 on this cameo V the first leg’s. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel

The way Ruben has managed his minutes has been so intelligent - 10 consecutive appearances now, he’s looking fit and sharp and is perfect for the 10 role under Amorim

Perfect storm for him tonight. He did really well but I'd honestly be quite surprised if we see him play that well again

People were saying they never rated him. Ffs

So pleased for him tonight. What a cameo.

I'd love so much for him to turn this around. There is a good player in there that has always been able to chip in with goals and he's one of the few players we have that actually suits this system. He just needs to stay fit, and that's the hard part.

There's always been a player there.
Injuries have not helped but an injury free MM is such an asset.

I just hope he stays fit. He's a very good player to have in the squad. Hard working, intelligent, skilful and nearly always makes the right decision on the ball, which a lot of our players don't.

Could a Bruno mount casemiro midfield work? Probably not but just maybe.
It could work in a cup competition where the setup is conservative where you defend deeper. But over the course of the season I don't believe the midfield 3 you have highlighted would be good enough to propel the team to a level where we can challenge for the league. And that imo is due to not having the deeper midfield options who can propel the team as far as building the play from the back, where receiving the pass on the turn, evading the press and then progressing the ball forward are fundamental requirements if the aim is to dominate the opponent.

I think we're fine as far as the options in the attacking midfield positions but I don't believe Bruno and Casemiro have the all round game to play in deeper midfield roles where evading the press, progressing the ball forward and containing the transition in a higher line is a requirement. Bruno and Casemiro are more than capable of progressing the ball forward but I don't believe they're anywhere near good enough as far as evading the press or containing large spaces in transition in a higher line. We have to aim higher or else we'll carry on being a mostly direct team. I think Bruno should be mostly utilised as as attacking midfielder that's where he's best for us. And raising the level in deeper midfield should be a priority in the transfer window.

Mason Mount was excellent and there's a reason why both Arsenal and Liverpool wanted him too. His issue has been injuries and if you he can get him to steer clear of those injuries then he's a player who not only contributes with goals and assists but is also a player who can connect and combine at a high level and that's something we lack in the final third with the exception of Amad.

Robbie Savage declaring it the best 30 minutes of his career when he’s played in a World Cup and provided the winning assist in a European Cup final was fittingly Robbie Savage.

Savage also claimed his goal was more important than the Macheda one.

Really happy for him after the many setbacks he has had with injuries. Due to injuries he hasn't got the chance to show what he can do for us, so hopefully he can stay fit and be an important player for us. If he can stay fit I think he has a role to play for us next season at the number 10 spot.

To be fair he wasnt there when both of those happened. Did not see = never happened.

After a horrid 2 seasons, a fantastic sub performance. All we can hope for is a true start to his career here rather than a flash of a great performance for 30 minutes

Bruno has clearly shown since Amorim came in that he's capable of being press resistant in that deep role, his composure has completely transformed and I have 0 doubts about him there.

Mounts injuries are such that it's hard to plan with him, but either way I think Bruno is just a fixture in the deeper midfield spots which he is also world class at. The 10's would be amad, garnacho, Cunha, mount or zirkzee. Sometimes I'm sure Bruno will still play as a 10 and Ugarte and Case will partner each other in midfield, but typically I think you'll see Bruno long term in CM.
