Can really see why Amorim continues to play him - we’re so much better when he plays. Hope he’s not injured
 
Why was he subbed? He was miles better than anything Mainoo did. Plus he defends like he actually cares.

Curious sub by Amorim and completely undeserved unless he got an injury.

Mount in current form is miles better than Mainoo!
 
Any news on him? Strange substitution if he wasn't injured, he was great in the1st half.
 
I think him and Mainoo/Casemiro is our most reasonable/balances midfield two.

He is not enough of a goalthreat to play as an AM, and if we are playing Bruno, he should be as close to the goal as possible, not at CM.
 
Has to be injured. There’s no other logical reason for him to be subbed off. We can’t rely on this guy, if that’s the case.

It's been pretty widely reported we are delegating more responsibility to the medical department and they typically say "x minutes" for certain players. Given he has been absolutely wrecked by injuries for 2 years now and the strength in depth we have at no.10 i wouldnt be shocked if they are just spreading minutes to limit risk.
 
Can't believe I would say this but we really missed his presence on the pitch today when he went off.

Edit: Just saw that he was carrying another injury FFS.

We look a better team with him in the side, he does the unglamorous things so well, closing off passing lanes, pressing well winning turnovers, etc.
 
So he's confirmed in his interview that Mount is injured, doesn't know if it's serious.

A future break doesn’t negate present fatigue. If the fitness team deemed it was a risk to play him for the full 90 today then it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference that we have a break coming up.
 
He had a five minute stretch up until the penalty call where he was genuinely world class.
 
Credit where it due he was doing fantastic up until the sub. Hopefully nothing serious because he does seem pretty important to this system.

You can see why managers and teammates love him, just a very smart, hard working and technically solid player. Plugs gaps defensively, knows where to be in attack and plays for the team first.

Just can't get a run.
 
Presumably the injury isn't that bad if he was playing through it, so hopefully he's fine after the international break.

But it's another warning sign that nice though he is to have in the team, we can't depend on his fitness.
 
Guess he'll be out until some time in November, make a few promising appearances before getting injured again by the time Christmas rolls around.

Have to feel for him. Clearly a competent player that raises the level of the squad and the team, but he simply cannot stay fit.

Yeah it does make you wonder how we'll line up for City, especially when you consider Amorim will want players that can press well.

Hopefully not a serious injury.
 
Seen a couple of coaches with their arms round him as they were walking off at half time. Thought there was some kerfuffle with a player.

Hopefully nothing too serious and more just a precaution.
 
Hope it’s just a knock, if he played on for 30min.
Maybe force the board to buy a CM if both Mount and Cunha to be out for a few weeks.

This is United, we don't do logical, if he isn't injured/unwell then it's baffling decision, he was probably our best player in the first half aside from maybe Mbeuno

He kind of knits the team together, without offering anything else besides. I prefer watching us with him playing, but can’t help but feel we’d be better with somebody else in the particular role he’s filling at that time.
