Yes but I wouldn’t put my money on Shaw staying fit next season while having more then a game per week.
 
Mason needs to settle on what his special attributes are and build that up. He's a very solid all-rounder but there's no single aspect of his game you'd say, wow he's one helluva footballer.

With the ball I didnt notice him I have to be honest. However he helped Mainoo win the ball a bunch, he certainly wasnt bad in that midfield performance
 
Solid work in a game where Brighton looked like they'd all but given up. Don't think anyone of the starters where bad today, hopefully he can maintain his fitness for next season because we'll probably need him.
 
I hope he can stay fit. Really good footballer and only 27, could be valuable next season if he has more luck on the fitness front.
 
Hope he can stay fit, he'll be used a lot more next season with the fixtures and we need midfielders, and he can be useful there.
 
I remember when Ten Hag first came in and used Mainoo as the 6, with Mount and Bruno ahead of him as the two 8s. Today showed that system can definitely work. The biggest issue has always been Mount’s fitness, but if United bring in two more midfielders, with Mount as the fourth option and an academy graduate as the fifth, it suddenly looks like a really balanced setup.
Having versatile midfielders is going to be crucial, and Mount definitely fits that profile.

Thought he was excellent today - aggressive on the front foot, pressed well, and broke up so many attacks before they could develop.

Great player. Pity about his horrible injury record but it does seem like they like him at the club and will play him and involve him so if he can stay fit he's going to get every opportunity to get back to his best

I think if he can stay fit he could become one of our best players.
 
Good performance today. Quick passing, pressed well and covered the pitch offensively and defensively.

His quick passing was particularly helpful in our 2nd and 3rd goals, both times to Amad too. Still concerns over his quality in the tighter games and ability to stay fit throughout the season, but playing like this he’ll be a useful option next season hopefully.

Yeah, I’m curious to know why he’s so well liked by the club and his previous managers. As a fan who’s been critical of his transfer and performances, I’ll say he sticks to the job he’s given without ever being exceptional at it.

Today he was great because he contributed on both ends of the pitch, a typical mount performance would have seen him run (not really pressing much) a lot without affecting anything offensively.

That and his injuries have contributed to his signing being seen by a lot of fans as disappointing.
 
I’ve been singing the same song for years now, stay fit and he’s class. Such an intelligent player.
 
He was good today. I would sell him because of his injury record but I don’t think he is sellable.
 
He and we have nothing to lose the next season. He will be here and his position is Bruno, he should try to reinvent into a CM/CDM/DLP hybrid, think he can take turns with Mainoo who stay back and who can dart forward. We might find a good back up CM there already.
 
There is no point selling him for £15m, because that's the fee clubs are going to offer with his wages. Just keep him, hope he can stay injury free for at least half the season. He'll have a role to play.
 
Was worried we were in for another Sunderland type performance when I seen the lineup. Fortunately we played well and so did Mount.
 
He's very clean and positive with the ball. One of the most technically sound players in the squad. Versatile as well. Shame his body has failed him, can't be relied upon at all and the club paid a silly, silly fee for him when the writing was already on the wall.
 
Whenever the most common thing said about a player is along the lines of "if he can stay fit" you know it's time to get rid of them

I don’t think it’s that people want to keep him, but he’s got a terrible injury record and is on 300k a week - who’s taking him off our hands?
 
He took part in our best move this year, didn't he?
That 2nd goal was fecking delightful, belongs in a gallery....
 
His part in the Amad goal was brilliant. Beautifully weighted pass. He was good off the ball, too. The problem is, as usual, he's too invisible on the ball for the majority of the game.

There's no way this club should be counting on him on any actual way. If he plays any games cool that is a bonus but he needs to literally be an afterthought for our strategy next season with his abysmal injury record.

It's harsh but I feel the same. If an offer came in we should cash out (but it won't especially since he's on reportedly 200k pw)

He's an asset when he can play here and there but it's not enough. Think he's been here three years and don't think he's even reached 30 games for us (never mind number of starts)

It's been start stop for him which is a shame for both him and the club.

Feel bad for him, he’s technically gifted and his good vision. This season has shown glimpses of Mount pressing and technically turning his players. His link up play has been good too, reminds me more of a system player where he would excel.

His issue is injuries and his position being behind the striker where Bruno plays.

If an offer comes in, I would say sell due to his injury issues.

No one's buying him. We could try and loan him out but we'd still have to be paying quite a bit of his wages you'd think.

He's been here 3 years and we haven't gotten 30 games out of him yet let alone 30 productive games. Nothing against him personally but he can't be relied on and we should put ourselves in a position to need to rely on him.
 
Only saw the first half of the match but wasn't expecting that level from him, in an away match at that.

Maybe he can be considered a 5th option CM next season alongside youngsters

The point in selling him is the "if" in your first sentence. He's earning way too much for a player who is not a first XI player and is hardly available half the time. The only reason not to sell him is if we can't, and we probably can't. Good footballer, but there are other aspects to consider.
 
He was decent today. He's a good player. But I don't get excited about any decent Mount performance anymore because I know it's a false dawn before the inevitable next injury.

It also doesn't help that there's no natural position for him in the team. In Amorim’s system he could do OK as one of the 10s, but back in a 4231 he's not going to replace Bruno as the 10, he's not quick enough to play as a wide forward, or physical or mobile enough to play midfield.

He's good at retaining possession and making the correct decisions, so he's a useful player to bring on for the last 10 minutes if we're trying to see out a game.

Our squad is so threadbare and it's going to be hard to move him on this summer, so by default he'll likely stay as a squad player next season, but unfortunately that's the most I see for him.
 
Thought he and Mainoo will struggle together but they both played brilliantly. Not sure if that would have worked against a better midfield (34 year old + 40 year old!) but there were many positives to take feedback from for next season.
