Wouldn't read much into how a player is walking after a game. You can walk fine with an injury.
Although it did look like he took a knock in a challenge and then went off not long after, rather than going down with a muscle problem, so hopefully nothing major.
I mean, he wouldn't even make the top 10, and that's in spite of our stubborn determination to play him as some kind of box to box CM, instead of where he's actually effective.

Can understand carrick being ultra careful and ofcourse he's a very valuable player but to rely on him would be crazy stupid.

Could you name 10 worse? Everything considered, the fee, what we've got in return, what we pay and what we will get back when he inevitably goes for a free when his contracts done he has to be top 5, easily.
Sancho, Antony, Onana, Ugarte, Schneiderlin, Depay, van de Beek, Di Maria, Sanchez, Ronaldo (you probably know why). All your criterias boil down to one thing; injuries, and when I think of transfers, I think about quality. We have always played our best football when Mount has been on the pitch, even if it has been too little. Sure, we've overpaid and pay him too much, it is what it is now, it is still better than some of the players in there that have genuinely self-sabotaged the team.
What use is quality if he's always injured? He's completed 90 minutes in the Premier League three times since he joined.
Antony was awful and even he offered more in the two years than Mount has in three.
I think it depends on how you rank your signings I suppose. For instance I always think of players who damaged the club the most when I think of the worst signings not just performance. I can see how if you solely focus on cost and performances then yeah, he'd have to go down as one of the worst but for me and I presume others it feels unfair because he's tried in games and I think he's played well at times its just the fitness that lets him down. It's like Anderson or Jones, I have more sympathy as it's their bodies that couldn't cope with the game (especially in Jones' case) more than their attitude stunk.
My issue with Mount is the fact they are knowingly going into games with the worry that any contact on him and they are likely to take him off as a precaution. Even if he's not injured he's still being treated like he is and it just adds to an anxiety within the team you cannot afford.
Ridiculous situation to be in, Utd should simply take what they can for him, but get him off the books with a nominal fee and get in someone who can be relied upon.

The cost of the transfer has to be factored in. We basically made all of our money back on Schneiderlin. We can't offload Mount and his insane wages, so he'll almost certainly be leaving on a free after 5 years of contributing very little.
Also, since he signed in 2023, we have played our best football under Carrick, when Mount barely started.
Will give you them but you could easily argue Mount is as bad or worse as a few of the others. The non bold players we either cut are loses quickish, paid a lot less or got most are money back, things we haven't done with Mount. Definitely don't agree with that or you can't say for certain because the sample size would be what 1 or 2 games over a sustained period?
It is sad because I genuinely believe this is the best he's performed for us since signing him and did have pretty high hopes for him going off that but it does feel like he's one rough challenge away from being sidelined for months, again.
Injury free Mount was a really quality player and most importantly team player. But his body cant sustain the way he loves to play the most covering huge parts of the pitch and pressing like crazy. Either he reinvents himself or he will suffer the next season as well.
Really hope he’s ok and to see him get a decent run this season. I think if he could put a run together he’d be one of the first names on the teamsheet, he’s got it all, problem is of course fitness.

Worse part is we don't get updates on injuries anymore. We won't know if he'll be a out a few months or a few games.
He's been paid several millions of dollars to do a job that to this date he simply hasn't done to any great degree even when available. There is nothing to remember him buy but his constant injuries.
Really tired of having hope for these players that just never deliver, he and others are holding us back and being paid handsomely to do so.
