Mason Mount | 2026/27 Performances

He's been paid several millions of dollars to do a job that to this date he simply hasn't done to any great degree even when available. There is nothing to remember him buy but his constant injuries.

Really tired of having hope for these players that just never deliver, he and others are holding us back and being paid handsomely to do so.

He has is millions, he doesn't need sympathy.

I don't care if he has millions - I still feel sorry for him. He seems like a decent guy and a hard working professional who has just had awful luck with injuries and I'm sure that frustrates him more than any fan. Wanting to play football but being unable to because of injury is just shitty. I have a lot more time for players with injury trouble than I do for players who just don't seem to care like Sancho.

Worse part is we don't get updates on injuries anymore. We won't know if he'll be an out a few months or a few games.
According to MEN it was just precaution. Mount was okay after the game and said he was ‘all good’. Would have been worried had it been another muscle injury.

My internet cut out just before he received he went off. Did he take a knock/bad challenge?

He was kicked and was taken off by Carrick as a precaution. I doubt its anything more than that and he should (if needed) be ready for the opener imo.

Name ten worse.
I already did above, but what's the point, any way? You've already shown your position and that you think he is the second worst and you're not going to agree with the names I list.

I find it quite shocking that you rate Mount worse than Antony who cost 90m and was terrible. It doesn't matter that he was available, he was extremely poor and was one of our more expensive signings ever.

I didn't actually say he was the second worst. That was someone else, he's been an unaccounted disaster of a signing. Try reading and get off your high horse.

Get off your high horse?

You're literally in here slagging a United player who is incredibly professional and hard working, but has struggled with injuries. He can't help it. You've been doing this for a long time. Get a grip

Nah he's just been a crap signing. It's the nature of football, nothing personal. Saying he's been a terrible signing is fine, it's reality. You're on a high horse because you think you're a better fan than others because you back a player who clearly has been a complete disaster of a signing. You've shown this in the way you post.

Damn some posters are evil and take football way too seriously like its a life and death situation.

Just because a diabetic person looses his foot but earns passive income doesn't mean he should be neglected of sympathy. You don't say someone had a life threatening condition and say" atleast they had a free NHS, Goodbye".

It happens all the time, supporters have forgotten the ability to "support" the players that represent their club. Whether its someone like Obertan or Nani - not everyone is meant for success instantly or after a long period of time otherwise we wouldn't have as much losers in the world we see in every household.

I really dislike how fans pick certain players to target through the season, to chuck all their bad feelings and fustrations on a group of few players. A view of pessimism rather than optimism.

I support Ugarte, Zirkzee, Dalot, Mount even Rashford as long as they wear my shirt and try their best even if they are one day upgradable.

I like Mount as a midfielder but I knew we were going to sign another midfielder, now its just going to look like we panic bought someone when it was always in our plans. People believed "Mount is our 4th midfielder" stuff that literally didn't come out of anyone working for the club. This youtube celebrities like Goldbridge and Romano are rotting peoples brains.

With you, it is personal. You've not shown particular support for any of our players. Constantly slagging off Mount, Hojlund and others. You're not remotely interested in any form of positivity for this team. It's just relentless, endless whining. Add the sucking up to Liverpool too, and it just makes it so much worse.

Ahh Hojlund. Great player for the club.

I'm sure that would have been flagged on his United medical, no?

It would have been flagged on his medical yes, but we obviously decided to ignore it and sign him anyway!

At least we can see with the recent Ederson non transfer we've learnt from this mistake!

We had to eventually, complete foolery that we still signed him.

Anyway, here's to him recovering quickly and not breaking down again just as fast!

Because you have any knowledge here whatsoever?

The only injury he has related to hip is a contusion that kept him out for a bit over a month.

I know somebody that works at Chelsea and he told me it was why they were reluctant to give him a a new contract. Based on the amount of absences he's had with only a vague reason given it rings true.

Getting treated for being kicked is not the same as being injury prone. All human beings can be forced out for treatment due to an impact injury. It's why you don't want to get hit in the face by a baseball bat.

Players are "injury prone" when their soft tissue (muscles/tendons/ligaments) are structurally weak and easily damaged during normal sporting activity. In Mount's case, it's his hamstring muscles that are the recurring issue.

People are wide of the mark claiming this latest knock as a sign that Mount can't be relied upon. It may well be true that Mount will end up being unreliable again. But it may also be true that he's turned a corner as a result of playing deeper and no longer needing to sprint as much. Either way, a kick to the ankle is not a sign of how things will go for him this season.

Of course Mason Mount is injury prone and can’t be relied upon.
He’s missed, what, around 50% of matches as a Manchester United player due to injury and fitness issues.
Sure, there are some cases of players who were very injury prone like Mount and turned it around, but until that happens he literally can’t be relied upon, he could play like the second coming of Xavi when fit, and you still can’t seriously count on a player like that, whenever he is fit should be and will be counted as a bonus not the norm, until he can stay fit for a prolonged length of time.

I don’t see the point of arguing against numbers and facts, with a long season ahead, we need another midfielder who can be consistently relied upon, Mason Mount is currently not that player.

Just read he's missed training Monday and Tuesday and he's out for today's game. Don't care what word we use to describe him he's unreliable. Fortunately it's pre-season and we can wrap him in cotton wool but come season time we won't have the luxury to leave him out over a minor "injury" and I don't know how confident I am about him actually being available next season.

Not injured and just a precaution they said..

Just clocked he has a contract until summer 2028...
What really annoys me is how long we hold on to injury prone players. Look at Bayern they had de Ligt and Mazraoui for two seasons before they decided they were to injury prone and shipped them off at discount prices. We just keep these players forever hoping they will come good one day.

Who is going to buy an injury ravaged player on 250k a week?

Who will be back from injury first, Mount or Baleba??

Just got to suck it up and keep giving him a million every month for the next 2 years. You’d think he’d be finished after that. Nobody will buy him. Best deal he can get is pay as you play

Just when you think he's about to turn a corner, a new injury strikes again. Think he'll be done in 2 years. Much like Sancho, finding no takers. At least his attitude isn't too bad.

This thread after a minor knock and likely a precaution sub
2 weeks after his "precaution sub", he's not in the travelling squad to face Hull. Who could've seen that one coming? Oh yeah, everyone who rightfully "banged the injury drum" after a "minor knock".

Banging the injury drum again? He missed 9 games last season to injuries, and all of them were just minor knocks, the last (and longest) one kept him out for a bit over a month.
You know a footballer is made of glass when missing 73 days of a season to injuries is considered a positive, relatively injury-free season.

You know, there is another thing that really irritates me. I have to take Bayern as an example again, they just offloaded Palinha, a player they were not longer planning with, to Benfica. I'm almost certain Benfica does not pay on the same level as Bayern does but they still got rid of him. Either we overpay our player by such a ridiculous margin that I have to question the sanity of the people making these deals or we simply are bad at making deals with other clubs and agents or whatever. Whatever it is, we seem to be the only ones who are forever stuck with the players that clearly won't cut it here.

Disaster signing for a position we didn't need at the time, and to think he was the "marquee" first signing for a price that didn't make sense and wasn't gonna turn us into absolute challengers

I don't hate him and he has moments here and there but most people could see what a waste this would be ultimately.

Yep. I don't know how anyone can still defend this shambles
