Mason Mount's Many Misfortunes (please don't make another waste of money post)

The international break coming up is probably a good thing for us. Mount gets another few weeks before another game, hopefully Shaw and Mainoo return too.

Ruben may love him & call him "perfect" or whatever but for me, he will have to put in 8 MOTM performances in a row to win me over.

We’re 14th and only have 1 player who can regularly score goals

If he comes back and scores a goal, he’ll have my whole heart

Few Englishman ever can say they started a Champions League and European Championship final. He's one of them. He's a very good player, better than half this lot. If we get him fit, he'll be a great player. Sadly its getting him fit.

Hopefully we make improvements behind the scenes in this regard. Surely it can't be all bad luck our string of perennially injured players.

I'd manage him on a Ledley King type protocol at this point. Max one game a week, don't go 100% on the defensive / pressing intensity. Let's revisit if he ever notches up like 15 consistent starts.

That's not likely this year given that we barely have 15 fixtures remaining (assuming we advance in Europe). The name of the game for Amorim is to give to give him a bit of sub time after the break and gradually rebuild his confidence, with an aim to go into the summer injury free, and with very limited time during summer friendlies. At that point, he should be ready to go for next year.

There are talks of sending Mount to a clinic in Switzerland to resolve his recurring injury issues. If that is the case he may be out for 6 months.

I heard people don't come back from private clinic in Switzerland.

Like sending an old dog to a farm.

Is this for real?

Why would you send someone there if they don't come back?

It was a joke about clinics in assisted suicides.

But on a serious note there are reports about sending him to clinic in Switzerland to help him recover from constant injuries.

Probably one of the highest wage to minutes play ratio footballer in the whole universe.

So, several months out after another life threatening injury (wasn’t) … eventually “recovers” yet again, enough to show up for a few minutes late on and.. please, just stop this

The "report" is from a shite Twitter account that doesn't name the clinic and posits that it is possible "if his injuries continue". So it is more bollocks rage bait that our media-illiterate fan base can't seem to pick up on basically.

He should start on Sunday. I'd go Garnacho - Zirzkee/Hojlund - Mount as the front 3 for Sunday.

Obviously an awful source, but just out of curiosity:

What sort of six-month treatment could someone undergo to help them with injury problems? I'm not sure what that would actually entail.

If true then I fear that double pelvic injury Mount’d suffered in his last couple months playing for Chelsea and a subsequent surgery have completely ruined him.

No expert at all, but Im reading that only 0,14% of fractures to a human body are of the same bone(s) as Mason suffered. Could it be that even the best surgeons in this field simply dont have enough experience and practise to operate it, so it could have been botched? Feel for the lad, does strike me a good pro with right attitude to work hard, it would be devastating for him going through hell yet again.

Surely this is bollocks. So tthey send him out to miss another 6 months to get fit for a fortune, to what, play another season before his contract expires?

Nice positive piece about Mount. Really hope he can overcome his injury plague.

It's a bit of a shame that the confidence from the nature of his rehabilitation only stems from his mental strength and attitude, was hoping there are some positive signs in physical aspects and nature of his injury

He's not a Prem footballer anymore. Anyone kidding themselves on he can return to the level of fitness and robustness for this league is in la la land.

Even Shaw has more chance of stringing 3 appearances together at some point in the future than Mount has.

I'll bite.. what makes you think that?
