Looks like he has been suspended pending an investigation. The club says their going through a process And will not be saying anything else until the process is completed.

Most of the papers are reporting that United have taken legal steps to sack Ronaldo for a breach of contract. He won't get any compensation and United may take further steps to sue him for defamation.

Still nothing concrete from the sounds of it, each side setting out their stall essentially, surely there's behind the scenes dialogue other than what we're seeing, and would Ronaldo really want this to overshadow the WC - if so it's putting his own ego above club and country...

Has Sir Alex made a statement of any kind on this matter?
Unlikely he will but at the same time... he terminated Roy Keanes contract and banned the interview from ever being released and it was deleted after Roy Keane did something similar. So it's clear what his opinion is.

It's an interesting approach. Ronaldo will presumably defend himself and all the dirty laundry will get aired in public again if / when it goes to court. Be interesting to see if Ronaldo can back up what he's said in the interview. If he can it'll be even more interesting as he might well win the case, constructive dismissal?

Don't think its constructive dismissal as he is being dismissed by the looks of it. Constructive is when you have no choice but to resign due to your employers conduct. It'll just be an unfair dismissal I imagine, but im no expert.

It’s clear what Ferguson’s opinion should be, but what can’t be sure what it really is. By most accounts, it was Ferguson who made all the difference in making sure Ronaldo came back to Old Trafford. If we know anything about the Glaswegian it’s that he’s stubborn to a fault. But this may, but only may, be a bridge too far for even Ferguson with respect to his favorite son above all, Ronaldo.

I'm certain United will shortly announce that he's been sacked for gross misconduct and disparaging statements against the club and manager.
Clock is ticking but i think we'll see it by the end of the weekend.
