Matheus Cunha £62.5m release clause

Is everyone giving up on Bruno as the left 10, then? And if he's our new midfielder, is everyone giving up on Mainoo? I think Cunhas brilliant but I just cant figure out what we are doing with these two. Im not convinced Bruno and Ugarte is going to lead us anywhere. Sure it can work in a lot of games but over a season is this a top midfield? And right 10 is Brunos worst position even though again he can do a job there.
Over the past few years Bruno has down he can play as a central 10 with wingers either side of him and a striker ahead of him as he needs to have the game ahead of him to dictate and pick out passes, as one of two 10’s he struggles as it’s only the striker ahead of him and he lacks pace and dribbling ability.

As one of the two in midfield he becomes a proper orchestrator as he has everything in front of him and can pick long range passes out very quickly so we can counter attack, in order for Bruno to succeed in midfield though he needs a high energy pure defensive midfielder to do the dirty work which Ugarte is.

It doesn’t mean we’ve given up on Mainoo as Mainoo is still a teenager and developing, I don’t see the problem with having Bruno and Mainoo for one role as it gives us strength in depth. It’s another defensive midfielder we need as Casemiro needs Ugarte alongside him due his legs going so if we could move Casemiro on as well as Eriksen then we need to look at someone to rotate with Ugarte.

In regards to Cunha though as far as on the pitch goes he’s practically perfect for the left 10 role and if we’re able to move Rashford, Antony and Sancho on then Cunha at £62 million is a must buy. I think Amad, Cunha, Garnacho and maybe Angel Gomes coming back as our four to play behind the striker is a great mix.

Matheus Cunha has pretty much single-handedly kept Wolves up this season, especially when it comes to goals. And yet, people are more concerned about a few tweets? Sure, he’s a hothead — but so were some of the best players in our club’s history. That edge, that fire, it’s part of what made them great. It’s the kind of character, mentality, and bite that defines a true United player.

If Sir Alex were still in charge, Cunha would be exactly the type of player he’d be going after. No doubt about it.

A player who spends too much time on socials, with a seemingly volatile personality.

Yes, exactly what this club needs. He is good, but you can see the trouble from a mile away.

I think he's made for this club and agree with others who say about players having a bit of edge

I’m sorry but he’s not good enough to justify his ‘edge’. Twice now in recent months he’s gotten himself in trouble leading to suspensions, that too in the most critical period for his team.

This is not a team player at all. He likes the status of being Wolves’ best player, but I think he’s let them down time and time again with his on-pitch petulance and general behavior towards their fans.

I just like that he clearly writes his own stuff.

I remember earlier this season he was fully beefing - writing paragraph after paragraph - to some random account with 12 followers.

Scored twice the day after.
Get him signed up on here!

Last thing we need is a potential trouble maker. Sure, he's not lazy or lacking effort in any way but there are more ways to go offtrack than just being lazy. The pressure at United will be immense and there is a good chance that he can't cope.

He’s a fantastic player but has acted like a bellend since Gary O’Neil was sacked
Could have been a disaster him getting sent off at Bournemouth given where we were in the league
Instead we picked up 10 points in the 4 games he missed . He certainly isn’t going to get straight back in
As good as he is he’s missed 6 games this season due to losing his head
We all know he’s going at the end of the season
Doesn’t your success without him make you wonder whether he is actually a fantastic player, vs. one that just benefits from a lot of freedom while making the others around him worse?

There’s no doubting his ability however there has been a tendency to pass to Cunha and see what he can do
the whole team have had to step up in his absence which have led to better team performances
He’s still a very skilful player

I think his numbers definitely benefits from the freedom he gets - I have mostly only seen highlights of their games - I think he’s also on pens so that helps his numbers a bit. His overall game is definitely better than Wolves, but not top top level to justify his temperament. Wouldn’t be surprised if that last game against our lazy fecks was his best game this season.

We haven’t had a penalty this season so that hasn’t added nothing

We need a few players who can affect games by themselves, who can decide tight games and who can provide a threat, even when we are up against it.

Most mavericks have an edge to their personality, but players like him would make us exciting again, and the pool is small based on where we will finish. He would be a really difference maker and an absolute handful in one of those ten roles.

Amorim has never spent over 30million euros according to Transfermarkt. Is he really going to spend that amount?

I wonder what Ten Hag's record signing was before Antony.
I was hoping the answer here would be Antony but he was 3rd.

You sound surprised? Sporting, Braga and Casa pia don’t have money to throw around.

Another way of saying that is "Sporting - historically a selling club and fresh from the brink of financial ruin - spent four years not spending over 30 million euros on a single player. How will that affect Manchester United this summer?"

Before managing Liverpool at the age of 48, Jurgen Klopp's most expensive signing in 14 years of management was Henrikh Mkhitaryan for €27.5M. Didn't stop him from spending more than Cunha's release clause for Nunez and Van Dijk.

Amorim's managed for 7 years, is 40, and like Klopp at his pre-Liverpool clubs managed clubs that weren't known for spending lots of money. You can't really make assumptions like that based on the past. Circumstances change and he's now at a club which has the ability to spend a lot more, though I doubt we'd go for Cunha unless we do sell two of Garnacho, Mainoo and Rashford.

Couldn’t disagree more. Not one of those players bar perhaps Amad suits number 10 in this system. Bruno will be a midfielder under Amorim when he gets the correct 10s in place. His sporting team had some of the highest stats in Europe for dribbles completed into the box, passes but dribbles. We don’t really have a single player capable of doing that and opining up space. In my mind Cunha is the perfect player for that role.
Agree fully

Cunha is quality but seems like an absolute bell sprout. In some ways I like his confidence and he could bring some personality to the team. On the other hand he could bring down a solid dressing room that's being built up by the manager.

I've been backing the guy downplaying his supposed brainfarts but he does seem a bit strange. Maybe he'll grow on us if he comes here.

Eze too !

His surname reminds me of an old drunk from years ago who would shout "HEY BOY!" after some random lad in the centre of town. If they turned around to see who was shouting he would point at them and roar "CNUT YE!", cackling like a maniac.

Me and my mates definitely didn't encourage him in any way.

Anyway, I say we bring Cunha in for this reason alone.

Also happens to be Nani's surname.

I think the budget at his previous gigs might have been a bit different from one of the world's richest clubs

Has he done this in his previous clubs or wolves are the only club that he acts he’s bigger than wolves?

I view it differently than what people are thinking. I like the fact that he’s basically being straight forward that he wants to leave wolves because he doesn’t think wolves is good enough for him. It will help to accelerate the transfer process. Social media can still be easily controlled, managed, and also taught how to use it. I’m not too concerned.

Last summer, he said it’s a real honour to be link to Manchester United. Follow your dream Cunha.
