That's the only reason Delap for £30m makes sense.
Must say I'm quite surprised by all the Eze love. He seems an excellent dribbler but pretty average at most other things to me.
i mean incredibly disingenuous to say that is the ONLY reason it makes sense. You can say it is a factor, but not the literal only reason.

We need a dribbler in that position . Amad and Garnacho (with no end product) does make some difference when played there.

Lots of games where he doesn’t contribute. I think he’s a good player, but don’t think at the price Palace would demand he would be the right player.
Even if Cunha is better, I think I'd rather have Cunha based on some of the stuff he's done off the field. I don't know if I want Cunha around a team where we'll have a lot of young players. We already have had our fair share off players that we don't want influencing our youth players

He’s an effective player and twice the player Mount is. Massive upgrade for us if we signed him

It's difficult to tell if he's twice the player mount is given mount is always injured. In what way is he effective? His stats aren't great and whenever I see him he does some flashy bits but usually flakes when it comes to produce
Got a trophy, nailed on to finish in CL spots and one of the most passionate fanbases around. If you are an overseas player like Cunha with no affiliation to either club and you are comparing us to them right now it is a no brainer to sign for the toon.
I love Eze but Cunha would be the right fit for us because he will give us goals.
Think both are good options but Eze I feel is more pass and move where he can definitely run past his opposition player, whereas Cunha is more relentless in attacking his defender.
I followed Cunha during his time at Hertha BSC where I thought he was outstanding. Wrong decision to join Ath Madrid given hindsight but I think he should be the main addition this summer.
I would also take Ait Nouri from that Wolves team but with Dorgu it's somewhat nonchalant.
I would rather we just got those two. I can't think of anyone better we could possibly get for either position (other than maybe Lookman) so if we can we should. Spread the same budget over five signings and you're not getting near the same quality.

Completely different players - Cunha is an attacking midfielder who is insanely technical and creative - Delap is a bulldozer up front
There is a certain Lyon-player who plays more or less in the same position as Cunha - he is more of a gamble but his ceiling is higher and he will probably be cheaper. And hopefully he wont mess up our chances tonight

Like it or not (I definitely don't) their talent Iding has been great so far. I can see Cunha picking them over us if they have the cash and we have to feck around with player sales first. They have a couple of Brazilians already as well, in Bruno G and Joelington.
Odd thing is though, I can't see where he plays for them. He's not really a 9 or a winger and their midfield trio is set.
Cunha is a player we should absolutely be pushing for, as one of the 10s. I see him as a player who's ability to be a difference maker scales really well, even to the highest level.
Despite the Saudi money, Newcastle are doing many things right and build nicely.

I think it depends on our outgoings. If we sold Garnacho, I think Cunha is a better fit to replace him but if we let Zirkzee go then Eze.
Is suspect Palace will be demanding a lot more than £60m for Eze though.
Personally I prefer the way Eze plays but I think with this team, we do need a bit more directness as I feel we only get that from Bruno and Garnacho and Cunha is much more likely to bring that I think.
Would immediately elevate our team, and be our best player. Fits the left #10 role like a glove. Technical and physical. No brainer imo.

Never better than Bruno.
Everyone says Bruno is our best player. He's world class. We should never sell him. Then as soon as a shiny toy comes in we shove him either in midfield or right 10 where is less effective. Just because Bruno had a couple of decent games in midfield against weaker opposition does not make him a world class midfielder. He's a word class left 10, a good midfielder and a good right 10. Same as Garnacho who is a left 10 and Zirkzee who can play there and then everyone wants Mainoo as the 10.
So who are you selling and who are you fking up by playing them out of position? Might as well sell Bruno if we want to fk him up like we did with Mata, we did with Rashford as a striker and on and on
