Sure - everyone will take our call. But I'm not sure he'll be interested in changing positions. Not when Liverpool offer him a chance to replace Mo Salah, or his boyhood team Arsenal come calling after Tottenham show interest.

But hey -- I hope i'm proven wrong. I think playing Amad at right wing back and Semenyo as left wing back makes us a very attacking side. Perhaps a little fragile defensively though...
I think we can compete with any of them. Besides, playing as a wing-back in our system isn't a defensive role. If we can't get him, we need to sign a similar type of player to him stylistically. Someone like Ndiaye or Minteh.

Love him already. Has the spirit, determination, bit of a prick and talent you need it to make it here. His work rate and desire is superb, exactly the type of players you’d expect 60mill to bring in - not like the contract robbers of years gone by

Cunha - Sesko - Mbeumo

That’s the best front 3 in the league, right?
I did say before the season that Cunha would start for a team like Arsenal and Mbeumo would start for all apart from Liverpool and Arsenal. Then you've got Sesko who both Arsenal and Newcastle wanted as their 1st choice and i'd take over all other than Isak and Haaland (Ekitike up there with Sesko IMO). Our front 3 is comfortably a top 4 level attack. I also think our defensive group is definitely top 4 level as well. It's a bit weird to compare 3-4-3 defenses with others, but on an individual basis assuming a back 4, you'd put Yoro and De Ligt pretty high up there and Mazraoui the same for right back.

It's not a bad squad at all. The main thing has been adapting to them a bit and playing a way that suits them as a group, getting some confidence back in.

It's a decent starting 11 assuming Casemiro stays fit. I'm not a fan of our LWB options either but apart from that, it's a very good side on paper and still early days as a unit who shouldn't be compared to last seasons team. Progress is already so evident and we've a high ceiling with 1 or 2 more right additions. Our bench options do not inspire in the slightest though and we saw that vs Brighton when they came on. Thankfully we've only one match a week.

The verdict is still out on Sesko, which is fine he is still young and adjusting.

I wouldn't swap Cunha or Mbeumo though but there is also probably a bit of tribalism due to them being our own.

I don’t know, I can’t think of any players in the league currently, playing in their positions, that I would swap either of them for. When was the last time we could say that?

I mean thats what we paid for...

But on current form there are arguments to be made for

Spurs - Kudus, Richarlison and Johnson with 6 goals, 6 assists between them so far

Arsenal - Gyokares, Eze and Saka have 6 goals and 2 assists so far between them

City - Haaland, Bobb, Doku have 11 goals, 5 assists between them although all 11 goals are Haaland's

Chelsea - Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto and Estevao have 5 goals, 6 assists between them

Liverpool - Ekitike, Gakpo and Salah have 9 goals and 5 assists between them

Cunha, Sesko, Mbeumo have 7 goals, 2 assists between them so far

If the Rooney, Roy Keane and Roberto Carlos praise you...I like you son.
They were relentless machines in their pomp. And we need that.

Semenyo is currently outperforming both of them. Which is not a slight, as Semenyo has been unreal so far.

You have to factor in that we've had a far tougher start than most of those teams and have already played City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

There are some better players than the 3 we have (Haaland for example or Saka) but as a trio, I think I actually prefer ours over any of the others in that list particularly as Salah is more or less finished.

Saka is WC, Eze is very good but Gyokeres seems a little bit of a dud.

Chelsea - we haven't seen enough from Estevao.

City - one many army.

Nottingham Forest 2:2 Man Utd
Sloppy today. Poor close control at times. His shooting was off it as well. He can be a frustratingly inconsistent player.

I like him, and can accept he's having an off day, but I hate the greedy shots from range when he can play in a teammate.

Poor control today. I felt he didn't really do much which in games like today was disappointing.

Worry about his “maverick” style — he wants to be in the buildup and taking on players too much. Nothing really substantive in the final third from him yet

Looked exhausted right from the start. Absolute lack of energy. Would have liked to see him subbed for Mount.

At the same time it was nice seeing a player fighting at the end. Day and night difference to some of the passengers of the past.

Same feeling.. for it to work we must play with a very offensive LB who's making runs and a sharper striker than Sesko.

But for now we need way more attacking threat, Amad, Mbeumo, Bruno and Casemiro are the only ones providing that.

He was a bit sloppy, but still managed to create a few moments that could’ve led to much more with a sharper striker ahead of him.

Consistently ran in to players, selfish shots from range that where shite and was pretty anonymous for long periods of the game. Looks good when it comes off but when it doesn't looks like today.

Disappointing today as we really hoping to see him kick on, need him to find some consistency.

Offers absolutely nothing defensively so effectively United are playing with 10 players with Cunha. If he is not creating danger going forward he is actually a liability. That's even leaving aside is selfishness and slow release of the ball

Bad today but one of the few that can produce something from nothing. A little disappointed he's not producing more goals wise so far

Another classic 'Cunha against teams who deny him space to run into' performance today...

The speed he makes runs and sees others making them compared to Mbeumo is so stark. He's a full half second slower, Brentford were right to ask for more.

I didn’t quite get all the praise he had been getting. He can carry the ball forward but so could Rashford. He was more productive too. Yeah, Cunha is better defensively but he needs to be better going the other way.

I was going to say if I am the only one thinking he is extremely overrated by United fans so far? It is not to say he is not a good player or won't become as good as we expected him. He is just not that productive at this point. But new player getting used to the team and all, I guess.
