Something about how far he knocks the ball makes me feel like he’d lose it constantly in the prem. Also his feints are very readable in the videos. Granted I’ve only watched the videos…so I’m no expert !

Liverpool are probably going to upgrade on Fabinho while we've yet to replace Scholes, Carrick or even Matic

Obviously Pool or City. feck me with the way our rebuild is going I don’t see even a title challenge for the rest of this decade.

if it's City is he the Bernardo replacement? Obviously it's not us.

Seriously though- we have such a huge scouting network in Portugal , we already have a group of great players from Portugal.

Feck it - how difficult is it to get a deal done for players like this. New manager or management- these are pretty straightforward deals !!

Go to City. We have enough high volume players. ETH needs speed and tech.

We used to love that market when Mendes was pals with Fergie.

All our eggs are in the FDJ basket and that’ll be our marquee signing if we pull it off. Can imagine any other signings we make will be budget buys. How much is this guy apparently worth anyway?

Wouldn't surprising to the gap remain / widen as our rivals continue to out perform us off the pitch.

He has a release clause of €60m. Not sure if it’s active this summer or the next.

It’s nuts that Wolves and West Ham are in the conversation, but United give the impression they might not even know who he is. He is quality and someone who would work under Ten Hag IMO. I think he’s a much better option than SMS.

Good thing he turned them down. Otherwise, he'd probably go to one of those clubs, help them dominate the midfield against us for the next couple years then we would fail in a bid to buy him at 3X the current cost.

I despair. I realize I don't know enough about Nunes but it's criminal to continue with McFred while players like Ruiz, Nunez, Guaimares (in Jan) etc etc are all available.

I don't get it.

Just from the limited videos and OP’s typical Sporting-tinted glasses, this guy looks to be quite an interesting profile. He’s mobile, looks relatively good with the ball at his feet, and he’s a strong dribbler.

Not quite the specialist role we’re super after (which is apparently de Jong and nobody else), but neither are Rabiot or Milinkovic-Savic. €35m if true sounds like a fair deal.

Very talented, relatively young player. Would be smart business at that price with a huge upside and limited downside. Which is why we won't sign him.

We could do with 3 midfield signings though. McTominay is nowhere near good enough, and Fred is a squad player at best.
I think you would see more from especially Fred if he had a decent 6 behind him and he wasn't asked to be the deepest player but I wouldn't turn down 3 signings in midfield but think 2 is an ask with this board.

Genuinely surprised we're not in for him at that price and age. Yes he's an 8 but could definitely be an upgrade on McFred. What are our scouts even doing?

Maybe you are, maybe Arsenal are, maybe Bayern are. His agent only needs to tell him Liverpool and City are looking at him and he can get CL+ a good chance to win the league on massive wages. Hard to compete really...

His agent probably sent his client's CV to every club out there already. He is waiting for offer. The first two that came in are from wolves and west ham.
