He must have suffered a double stress fracture.

Reminds me back in the day, Neville basically spent the final 4 years of his career injured and every time it was brought up we were told he'd be back in 2 weeks. Became a running joke on here, meant to be back in 2 weeks and barely played a game in 4 years. After hearing Carrick speak on it it sounds even more mysterious than before.
Has there ever been an undiagnosed, at the very least undisclosed, injury where the timescale has first been short and then gone on indefinitely before at the club? I can't remember it.
Worryingly, he's not even appearing on United's social media, playing silly games like "Guess who is this player", or pointless podcast and stuffs like that.
Yeah exactly what it reminds me of.Reminds me back in the day, Neville basically spent the final 4 years of his career injured and every time it was brought up we were told he'd be back in 2 weeks. Became a running joke on here, meant to be back in 2 weeks and barely played a game in 4 years.
They’re not allowed legally to share players medical info these days.Yeah exactly what it reminds me of.
The longer it goes on though, makes me hope they do know what the issue is, but aren't sharing it for some reason - rather than the alternative. It's been ages, so they must know what's up- surely?
If his injury is stopping him from playing football then I would think the fans would like to know what it is.They’re not allowed legally to share players medical info these days.
The club can say that a player is out for a prolonged period of time, and give an indication of why. They’re not allowed legally to share players medical info these days.
You can’t pick and choose. You LEGALLY can’t share any of his medical information, that’s football and non-football related. If his injury is stopping him from playing football then I would think the fans would like to know what it is.
I am not interested in his medical non football related history.
Which they’ve already intimated previously. The club can say that a player is out for a prolonged period of time, and give an indication of why.
Standard rumour when a United player is out for an extended period. I remember hearing the same thing when Ten Hag sent Sancho on a training programme in Netherlands.I’ve heard some rumours that he actually failed a doping test and is serving a 7 month ban, and the club is covering it up with the injury. this may be made up
The FA etc would announce it.I’ve heard some rumours that he actually failed a doping test and is serving a 7 month ban, and the club is covering it up with the injury. this may be made up
Sancho was on PDDs.Standard rumour when a United player is out for an extended period. I remember hearing the same thing when Ten Hag sent Sancho on a training programme in Netherlands.
Carrick will have to make that clear at the next presser then to STOP the questions being asked. You can’t pick and choose. You LEGALLY can’t share any of his medical information, that’s football and non-football related.
And secondly, if the prognosis is still unclear, what point is there in saying anything if it’s likely to end up being the wrong information
I had no idea this was the case. Is this some sort of GDPR thing? You can’t pick and choose. You LEGALLY can’t share any of his medical information, that’s football and non-football related.
And secondly, if the prognosis is still unclear, what point is there in saying anything if it’s likely to end up being the wrong information
Yes mate. Classed as special category data and tightly controlled. The player could give specific written consent to allow them to discuss, but why would they want that information out there.I had no idea this was the case. Is this some sort of GDPR thing?
In United shirt Martinez wins that battle easily. Until this injury De Ligt was fit most of the time. It's neck and neck between him and Martinez for the crock #3 spot in our squad.
He missed a few games last season but yea you're right, nothing close to Martinez. In United shirt Martinez wins that battle easily. Until this injury De Ligt was fit most of the time.
Yup. All the guys signed to replace them turned out crocks, even Varane. When you think about it; they were maybe shit together but Maguire - Lindelof was most consistent partnership since Rio- Vida.
Selling Smalling and keeping Lindelof was criminal! In United shirt Martinez wins that battle easily. Until this injury De Ligt was fit most of the time.

Are you on about De Ligt? He’s always been injury prone..Our players suddenly become so injury prone once they join. What the hell
So just like what the club did than. He’s out with an injured back. The club can say that a player is out for a prolonged period of time, and give an indication of why.
They haven’t given any indication of time. It’s usual that a timeframe is given for players to return. So just like what the club did than. He’s out with an injured back.

His injury record has not been bad before. One severe at BayernAre you on about De Ligt? He’s always been injury prone..
To be honest that all sounds like a very sensible approach to dealing with the problem by both the player and the club - taking it slowly, step by step and not rushing it, so fingers crossed on a full recovery.A selection of manager quotes about the injury. The longer it’s gone on, the more concerning it is.
4 December- For Matta, it is a small thing. I expect to have Matthijs next game [at Molineux]
9 December- I don’t know, sometimes you have an idea then you have to see day by day,’ Amorim said after the resounding win at Wolves.
‘I’m not going to say when he is coming back
19 December - I think everyone is well, we have one more training session but today the rest of the guys are ready to go,” Amorim said of his team news, before being asked if that means Maguire and De Ligt are available, but he replied “No. I’m saying that nobody recovers, nobody else is out
16 January - We’ve had a good week, really,” said Carrick. “Matthijs de Ligt has been carrying a bit of an issue, but hopefully, we’ll get him back in some time soon. “It’s been a little bit slower than what they thought previously
23 January - He had a bit of setback. Well, not really a setback, before I arrived. [It was] only small but he was a little bit slower than we would have liked. “He is getting closer and hopefully in the next couple of weeks he will be back and around it
9 February - Matta, we’ll see how he develops over the, you know… the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we’ll see how he develops, but he’s positive, he’s moving in the right direction, but Mason’s a little bit closer than him.
27 February - Matthijs has had a back issue which has been a bit slow to progress," Carrick told a news conference on Friday. "It's something we've been working through, he's in the right direction but a bit further behind." Asked specifically if there was a timeframe for De Ligt to return, Carrick said: "It's the nature of the injury, the issue in the back. It's a difficult one to pin down time wise. He's definitely improving."
Bayern have form for selling us crocks…..when they are willing to do business there is a reason for it.Are you on about De Ligt? He’s always been injury prone..
They split up last summer.I just read he is going through a divorce, is this widely known? Old news or unimportant?
Before that we had Bailly, Lindelof and Rojo! Our centre back signings really have been shite in recent years - yoro was ridiculously overpriced for a raw prospect, martinez is a crock and his short stints of being fit only seem to serve to show us what we are missing (although he may not have been a crock before he joined us), de ligt similar and there was plenty of evidence of this before hand. It's great Harry has been good recently but to be reliant on him having spent about 150m on those three is pretty bad
