Matthijs de Ligt | 2026/27 Performances

I love to see him lifting those heavy weights, but isn't it too risky doing that while he is still recovering from back surgery?

Just want him to take it easy and fully recover from the surgery first than trying to prove him self too soon.
If our medical team aren't able to do these recommendation better than you here I'm sure we are fecked beyond repair anyhow. So let's just hope they know what they are doing and that he is at that level he are ready to lift heavy. At some point he has to get to that point.

Had to double back there a couple times. Thought that was Garnacho at 1st, then seeing De Ligt and lastly a kid rocking a Onana top. Very confusing couple of minutes from myself there.

Would love him to overcome this back issue, he had got off to such a flying start last season until this

Lovely. Hopefully he's only 4-6 weeks away from full return.
Just in time for Licha to go down Id imagine. As long as they take it in turns and not at the same time I can live with it

Was really good last season before his injury. Hope we ease him back and he gets back to his best

A Durag - used to help keep afro hairstyles, like Rashford's corn rows, fresh.

Or to cover your bald fraudulence if you’re Hulk Hogan

I hope this long injury for De Ligt was a one off, like Scholes and his eye issues 20 years ago. He was legitimately one of our best performers last season up to that point.

That beast already joined training.

Hope they don’t rush him. At least he’s learning the formation

Excellent news. We’re on pretty good hands with Maguire, Heaven and Yoro. Martinez soon too. It will be delightful to have De Ligt back.

It’s easy to forget quite how good he was before the injury. Yes we were a back three, but he was probably our best player.

would love to have him back soon... as others have pointed out, he was perhaps our strongest performer prior to his injury

Yeah got off to a flyer in that first 3 months, never believed he would be out for season when subbed at Palace

So they club have confirmed he has been declared fit to go back to full training with the squad.

Wonder how long it will take for him to get match fit now assuming there are no more set backs.

He was our best player last year before he got hurt. Its a pity that him and Martinez have never really got a run of games together.

A fit De Ligt would be huge for us.
