Honestly don't know why some people are taking offense to Ramos being called massive error prone? He's a great defender due to the compete package that he brings to the table but when it comes to defending, I've not seen many defenders ever as exposed defensively as I have Ramos.

Welcome to Redcafe, black and white all over the place.

If you are an striker and don't score 30 goals per season ,you are overrated.
If you are young top scorer but don't outscore Messi and CR7, you are and overrated kid.
If you have 2 bad matches in a row you are an overrated player, bad bad bad player.
If you are a defender and make a couple of mistakes, you are 'error prone' defender.
If you are a GK and don't have saves like Yashin, you are a fail of GK.
The Caf is brutal. For both United players and rival players. You have to be the finished product by 20. Miss a chance as a striker above 5"5 and you're a donkey. No matter how good you are, make one mistake and your thread is instantly bumped with laughing faces. It's just how it goes on here
Yeah, I love engaging these people. It’s like pissing in the wind... I’ll be in the general if anybody needs me.

Of course you're right. But also some people are acting as if we somehow dodged a bullet by not signing him. It's way to early to judge, in either direction. Even after 2 seasons if he's not amazing it's still probably too early to judge. Sterling is probably the best example.

Seems to really be finding his feet at Juve now after a poor start. Has the potential to be the future captain one day. He had a flawless game last night and over the weekend against SPAL.

That pass from Joao Felix was filthy. Deserved the assist for that

Hell yeah, the tackle was ok, the simple fact was De Ligt was miles out of position to start with so only made up for his mistake, the best part of that video was the ball in,
A better first touch and it's a goal. Classy.

He was covering for his leftback who's running back and clapping him for it.

Dude. You know he's a centre-back? And you also know centre-backs usually have a full-back on their left?

He wasn't miles out of position, he was in good position and LB should have covered that open space.

Even if he were the LFB that would have been the correct positioning to take on that play

Nope he wasn't, he stepped forward and had to sprint to get back into position,
Yes the left back was out of position too, but De Ligt was also.

He was covering the central striker. He was absolutely not out of position.

He's stepping up to cut off the striker, again, it's what he's supposed to do in that situation.

Nobody's out of position, it's a really bad turnover in the defensive 1/3 followed by a slow defensive transition by the midfielders and LB

We'll agree to disagree I think.
But if I was on that pitch, I would be unhappy with my defense, especially the CB and LB, he shouldn't be stepping out like that, especially as its a turnover and the LB has bombed forward.

After a shaky start it seems like he's really coming into his own now.
It was always gonna happen. He has too much potential to not. The circlejerk earlier on in this thread with posters jumping on the chance to say he’s not all that was cringeworthy.

Fantastic talent, should've conceded a penalty and received a red card. Given he wasn't punished, his poorly timed challenge will be forgotten about, great for De Ligt, but really he should've cost his team points. Juventus remain unbeaten.

How's he doing for Juve out of interest? Is he first choice now?

I think he's generally first choice but lately he hasn't been fit so Demiral has been getting more minutes.

That being said, De Ligt hasn't been entirely convincing. Which may be understandable since he's in a new league in his 1st season at Juve.

Agree with that, Barcelona buying de Jong when can't fit him in the team properly, like kid playing football manager with their transfer strategy recently.

Barcelona could do with de Ligt as suits the style much better and other CB options thin, Pique old, Umtiti lost pace through injury, Lenglet just quite average.
