Abso-feckin-lutely. Got to be a better option, surely?
1000 times better. How have we ended up with thinking Arnautovic as a viable option is something that I will never understand. Barca will surely accept 20-25m for a guy who they got on a free right? Much better than spending 15m on another 33 year old.

Sad truth is he will probably have better offers in the coming days than come back here. That's if he leaves of course.

Barca want him off the wage bill, we need a versatile forward, Barca want us to up our De Jong offer and we desperately need De Jong so why not make a joint offer to Barca for BOTH Depay and De Jong of £75 million plus add ons which solves every single problem for all of them.

What difference would it make when it seems everything is pointing to the fact he doesn't want to come here anyway. I like the idea of it but our board is not that bright to ever make a deal like that.

On the pitch for less then 20 mins today and created 2 goalscoring chances for us.

Chap sees things quicker then rest of our midfield.

Agree, a 75-80M offer for both of them and it's a win-win.

I don't get why we aren't in for him unless he told us ages ago not to even bother

Im gonna let my username be my only post in this thread if allowed. As a testament, a tribute.

His first album was a timeless masterpiece btw, absolutely a modern classic. Been waiting for a long time for him to (hopefully) come to my country and Ill be there waiting in the crowd with my gaze upon him, thoroughly watching his every move and listening to every word that he spits out and rapping along.
Then Ill get to go backstage and show him my Memphis7 tattoo and apologize to him for using the D**** name in my redcafe handle that I know that he doesnt like, and then well write a song together and he'll sign for MUFC.

We are. He isn’t.
We’re looking up at least five clubs which have a stronger front line than ours. Ronaldo may well be let go, and Martial is a maybe at best. I’m not saying Depay is the answer to all our problems, but unless someone can point to a better realistic target (Sesko is gone now), we may have to think about Depay.

Would bring him back in a heartbeat tbh

He's a lot more suited for the Prem nowadays with how much his game has matured and the versatility he offers a forward line than he was at 21.

He's also not as bulky and immobile nowadays as he was when he left.

*queue the Oranje FC jokes*

He’d definitely make our starting xi, worth bringing on a free if his wages aren’t crazy.

He's a good false 9, can hold the ball up and bring others into play like Martial.

He loves United and probably feels he has unfinished business here, it seems way too obvious?!

I just have such bad memories of his first stint here, but hey if buying him helps us get Frenkie what the hell.

He came here with a rep for taking a great free kick and didn't take a single good one.
He had one signature move of cutting in on his right foot that only worked against a couple of flimsy european outfits.

Not keen, I'll be honest!

He left us when he was 23, he's a much more polished and intelligent footballer nowadays.

He's eliminated all those unnecessary flicks and tricks for better focus on off ball positioning, creating and finding space for himself and others

He was largely crap... But he's better now, I don't think it would be a terrible move.

He does also have the distinction of putting in one of - if not the best - individual performances in the Post Fergie era that I've seen from one of our players... So that's something.

Going to Barca for De Jong and coming back with Depay. It would be like going to an Audi showroom and coming home with a Dacia.

Just no, Barca signed him out of desperation, now have ditched him at the first opportunity, and we already have first hand experience of knowing that he's not good enough.

He is not very good. Certainly not good enough for a really big club. Feels like he'd be a Liverpool in the 90s type signing.

To me, him joining United is a no brainer: he's the right age and in his prime, experienced, will overtake Van Persie as the Netherlands' top goal scorer, won't cost alot.

Excluding Haaland and Nunez, out of all the available forward targets he fits the profile.
We need a forward player in who can contribute right now. This is the guy.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
If we’re signing Gakpo then we don’t need Memphis. He’s a similar profile. Morata is a very different option to anything else we’d have - a player who is very good holding the ball up and bringing others into play.

Misleading from that account.

Same article says he’s likely to join Juventus

Not seen anything of him since he left but his stint here would never have been a true reflection of his ability or for any attacking player considering the severe risk aversion football the previous mangers implemented.
