Please cut out the insults to the “other side”.

At times I feel right now it would be more entertaining to watch entire vids with almost goals, or mere great plays with no assist or goal involve, than the typical vid.
PD: Some plays define players, that 1:55 min play can't be more Messi ro encapsulate him in a single play.
The same happens to me with Diego's goal to River from the Clasico at the Copa NAciolan from 81, I think

The 70 ft statue in India thing is pretty ridiculous, let's be honest.
Pretty par for the course there. The 70 ft statue in India thing is pretty ridiculous, let's be honest.
The stadium appearance didn't go well. The 70 ft statue in India thing is pretty ridiculous, let's be honest.
Angry fans attending Lionel Messi's tour of India ripped up seats and threw items towards the pitch after his appearance at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium.
Thousands of adoring supporters had paid up to 12,000 rupees (£100; $133) to catch a glimpse of the football star, but were left disappointed when he emerged to walk around the pitch, and was obscured by a large group of officials and celebrities.
When the Argentina and Inter Miami forward was whisked away early by security after around 20 minutes, elements of the crowd turned hostile.
Messi initially walked around the stadium waving to fans, but after his appearance was abruptly ended on Saturday, frustrated fans stormed the pitch and vandalised banners and tents, as others hurled plastic chairs and water bottles.

More luck finding Wally.

More people play football professionally than most European countries have in their entire population count. The problem has and always will remain that our base level *everything* to do with the sport is beyond pathetic. Why do they seem to have such rabid celebrity worship of but seemingly not many that would actually want to play it?
Absolute no other way this was going to go. Should've put money on this being the eventual outcome.
They didn't like seeing your goat out everywhere.it’s the problem with indians. they were the same angry mob whenever they saw me doing my goat tour of india.
So an organizational/grass root level problem?More people play football professionally than most European countries have in their entire population count. The problem has and always will remain that our base level *everything* to do with the sport is beyond pathetic.
They’ll be dropping career stats arguing over who’s the real GOAT long after they’ve retired.I wonder what all these Messi and Ronaldo fan werirdos are going to do when the finally retire.
Hopefully the player cult becomes a thing of the past. It's cute when children do it but mortifying to watch adults behave like this.
They’ll be dropping career stats arguing over who’s the real GOAT long after they’ve retired.
And once they’ve done that for half a decade they’ll start bitching about which of Yamal or Vini has had the best career.
You think any of what you're saying is relevant for those muppets?Vini isn't even worth a discussion.
Yamal hasn't done anything of note really yet besides the Euros where he had some good moments.
I don't even know if we've seen a player that can hold a candle to both yet.

I'm a fan of a club, talking about the club's current most high profile player. Please take that 'fanboy' nonsense somewhere else, that belongs to people who don't support clubs or who support clubs other than the player they are lionising.See, one's already started. We just need a Vini fanboy to enter now.
This is not an India problem, more like a Kolkata problem. The Hyderabad event went quite well.Absolute no other way this was going to go. Should've put money on this being the eventual outcome.

There's plenty of golden boys and also runner ups to balon dors (which honestly there werent many candidates). It doesn't put them in the discussion of the GOATs.
A lot of your accomplishments are filler, and he was young on a year there was a major tournament in a stacked Spain team that helps. If Spain didn't get out of the group stage a lot of those awards wouldn't be there.
Yamal judge him in 5-6 years.
Messi had consistency for decades, I don't think many players can do that.
Not saying Yamal is shit, I'm saying don't get carried away based on 2 seasons.
I don't get the same feeling from Yamal as I did Messi. But let's wait and see when he turns 23.
We said the same about Mbappe, he's 27 this month.
Nobody had Mpabbe up there with Messi. Only in possibly in being as prolific but not in anything else skillful.
Yamal's entire game is so much more for his age,.but its early.
Not the point. No one is saying he's in the GOAT discussion in 2025. You said that he has accomplished nothing much of note, which is categorically false. He's accomplished more than any player in history by age 18, with the single exception of Pele. That includes both Messi and Ronaldo. There's plenty of golden boys and also runner ups to balon dors (which honestly there werent many candidates). It doesn't put them in the discussion of the GOATs.

Obviously a long way to go in his career, and no one knows what level he will or will not reach. But let's categorise things properly.
Some fair points here. I disagree with the bolded part though. It depends what he does, and that goes for other players that come along in the future as well. If he wins and stars in the next 3 World Cups, for example, then he will be mentioned in that bracket long before he's 35. Obviously, that is extremely unlikely to happen, but the point is that he doesn't have to match exactly what Messi and Ronaldo did over 20 years to be reasonably compared to them - there's more than one way to skin a cat.Nothing of note may be a stretch, he's one of the most talented youngsters in the world. For me though I'm not glazing over him yet, balon dor runner up is great but it feels the general level last year was poor (but against his peers at his age it's impressive regardless). Let's wait and see in 5-6 years. I'm hoping he continues to improve because football is too system based now and I miss true individual players there's not many left now.
For me he's a kid he had a great breakout season, this season he's done every better stats wise so for now I'll just hope to see him be injury free.
I mean he isn't even in discussions of Messi and the R name, and he won't even be mentioned in that bracket unless he does this until he's 35. Even then he needs to get to the same base level but this season he is doing better.
Let's wait and see though, plenty of years left.

My guess is that he won't get into that super elite bracket because he's not quite quick enough (pace is so important in football, to an underappreciated degree - Pele, Maradona, Messi and Ronaldo were all fast, to a greater or lesser extent). But an all time great career is certainly possible, if he avoids injury.
Back on topic with the GOAT tour in India, fees seem to show the tour will generate $20m-50m from it, and no football is being played. Bizarre from a player has anything been done like it before?
Besides the stadium tour I found this clip fun, how one of the officials seems to have never kicked a ball in his life

[
I would argue that he hasn't been as good this season despite the stats. Take the last game; lots of overelaboration, poor decisions and losing of possession mixed with a great pass and a couple of meaningful dribbles.
Wow a Messi hater comment![]()

How can someone be that bad at football?
