He was never good enough but we all already knew that. Unfortunately for him, he's the fall guy. This club isn't serious.

Sounds like you're more concerned about getting a 'told you so' over those who supported the Carrick appointment, than you do losing.

Far from it. I’m pissed off with the performance and result just like everybody else. I’m just fed up being told I should be more positive about a manager I don’t rate.

Two games a week with an inexperienced manager, this could be a difficult season. Carrick was ok for interim job, but when you start the new season you need a top manager, and you already saw with Solskjær.

We created nothing after going down 2-0. A good coach has an effect on the game, he had nothing.

I’m afraid we’ll go on a bad streak and he won’t know how to right the ship.

We saw this creeping in against Milan last week, the team thinks they can just turn up and beat anyone without work rate and challenging physically for the ball, that’s the worst performance we have seen from United in 4 or 5 years!

I think this is close to it. They saw the name Hull and thought they’d just be able to play them off the park. Our best performances last season were when we were up against a team perceived as better. Bruno can usually be relied on to instill some fight, but he was weirdly subdued today.

I said it from the start so don't want anyone claiming I am reactionary

It was obvious he wouldn't be good enough. A lot of the games he won last season we didn't play well in, it was always going to catch up.

His seemingly vibes style approach only works when you have a good team, not when you have a team who shit themselves at the sight of the ball

We need a system manager till we can afford a vibes manager. Whether people liked Amorim or not it doesn't matter and I am just using him as an example but you need a manager who has a specific plan and style and back then 100%. We are not in a position to not have a manager that doesn't have strong and rigid principles cos then the players won't play with any either and just play with their fingers crossed

Should've offered Luis Enrique the world whilst we had chance, Carrick as manager is a consequence of failing to get the best in class.

I'm not sure we ever had a chance. And it was being briefed that the club approached him in the last 12 months (can't remember when exactly) when he hadn't signed the new contract at PSG.

Just the same intensity issues we’ve had for years. Managers just aren’t able to fix it.

Groundhog Day. We are literally repeating the exact same pattern as with Solskjaer.

Anyone who was even remotely objective knew that Carrick wasn’t good enough for Manchester United. The guy had managed fecking Middlesbrough and that’s it. Once again, we fell into the trap of choosing a manager based on the current mood instead of using our heads and some common sense.

It was obvious last season that we had no real style of play. But we successfully relied on counterattacks and benefited from playing in only one competition. And let’s not forget that in quite a few games we literally got away with it despite being the worse team.

Today we played Hull. Hull. We can talk all we want about how good our new signings are, but against Hull, these players should be completely dominant.

I don’t know about you, but I’m fecking sick of the whole vibes, laughter and good atmosphere bullshit. Just give me a proven manager with an actual system for once. I couldn’t care less about the atmosphere at training, how nice and friendly the manager is, or any of that stuff. I just want to finally see United playing with a recognisable system. I’m sick of the improvisation and games where we depend on an individual player pulling a rabbit out of the hat.

He just does not have the personality to be a top class manager.
I'm not sure he has a personality at all. Always comes off as the most tedious, expressionless, monotonous stick in the mud.

All the greatest managers have personalities and attitudes. You can't be a leader if you're so boring nobody wants to listen to you.

I'm probably the only one but I liked what I saw from Carrick today. While we were piss poor and should have been better prepared, I liked how proactive he was with his subs and how attacking he was with them. There's no point in making a defensive substitution when your losing the game so seeing a midfielder come off for a striker was a nice change to see. Our match day preparation needs to improve though.

Deserving of the wum tagline.

He was never leaving PSG. You can offer him all the money in the world but if he doesn't want to move, he won't.

Getting tired of the rhetoric that it's just 'so easy' to get people in.

Yeah better not try and stick to ex players with zero experience managing a top flight team

It’s gonna feel weird being part of the manager out gang this season.

Can someone please tell me the plan today?

Bypass the midfield, everyone clog the middle and launch hopeful crosses at their keeper?

We looked nowhere near ready, fitness wise. Poor subs too.

Media, fans, pundits, everyone is fickle and just feel in the moment, unfortunately. it's always been the case for managers, even judging players you get so many stinker performances and they can do one good game and its like they're amazing again

it's just football

From a club though that literally did the same thing only a few years ago, you'd think we'd have thought this might not be a good idea.

Obviously I'm being fickle, but when you look at Ineos so far with everything other some of the players they've brought in, they've got virtually everything else catastrophically wrong so far, and you can see Carrick being added to the list, and it if so it was so predictable.

It's not so easy to get Enrique in of course. But it definitely is so easy - I can't stress just how easy - for Manchester United to appoint a manager and coaching staff far more qualified than the one we currently have.

Woody and Evans at the wheel etc.

We have appointed someone who simply shouldn’t be our manager, the most likely scenario is he goes this season. I hope it works out for him and today was one of those days where no one played well but do have this horrible feeling it will be another disaster.

He couldn't ask for a softer game next weekend to set things right. If we lose that as well we might as well just sack him on the spot.

We'll never be a serious team if we don't turn up until November.

I hoped that Carrick could change this bad habit but it looks like same old same old

There's no freebies from me. Make a difference or you're out for the next pretender.

His OOP schemes have always been worrying, it's scary that if Baleba bombs we will have Mainoo, Tielemans and Santos for the midfield pivot. He is done if Baleba doesn't work out. Our press was nonexistent and it doesn't look like we know how to execute it.

Could be out of a job by November, sad because I really like him and want him to succeed. If he fails, he has been set up to fail his tactical shortcomings notwithstanding and Berrada along with his sidekick must leave before he does. They made a mess of this window, stacking the side with unathletic midgets that can't offer anything off the ball in the PL and trying to be too clever with critical signings.

He was never available. Alonso or Iraola were though.

I'm not sure we ever had a chance. And it was being briefed that the club approached him in the last 12 months (can't remember when exactly) when he hadn't signed the new contract at PSG.
Before he went to PSG I meant, he was there for the taking and we stood by ten Hag then went with Amorim.

Whats happening now is a consequence of not getting a world class manager when theyre available. Backing ten Hag then going with Amorim has cost us massively

Virtually any manager would have done thd same.
That's not true. How many times did people complain about Amorim swapping a like for like defender when losing. Not to drag him into it, just a recent example.
Deserving of the wum tagline.
Right... because I liked how quickly he made substitutions? We played like shite, and looked unprepared. However, what Carrick did during the game I liked, and I think its something that bolds well as long as he doesn't go like the ones before him and go defensive.

It's Ole all over again isnt' it? can only play counter attack football.

Yeah I almost put virtually any manager (bar Amorim) would have done the same.

He's too media trained, says what people want to hear too. Don't really watch conferences because it's obvious he knows how and what to say but will never get much
