I originally said the first two games were the only games that showed a performance. City was one of those.Played city off the park

I'm thoroughly convinced there is a significant portion of posters on here that will find fault with any and every hire. These same posters only want those managers who cannot or will not come to us at a given moment. Any pessimism on my part is that the club will screw around all summer and not make good signings. Last year wasn't as bad as most, so maybe they're coming out of that phase.Ruben 4 losses in a row: its players issue, they cant play the managers system
Carrick 4 wins in a row: its players quality, the system is actually shit
You'd be surprised what a difference feistiness makesThat's just a personal pecadillo, it means nothing in real terms. Touchline theatrics are mostly cosmetic. Is Arteta what you want?
Remains to be seenEmery who failed at the big clubs. He is a typical underdog manager.
This appointment is fine and the contract makes sense
How disingenuous.Worrying if that’s the extent of our ambition. feck me.
Its the pathetic "we need Prem Proven experience" bollocks they are obsessed with.Worrying if that’s the extent of our ambition. feck me.
We've just hired two managers in a row from outside of England and the PL. They didn't work out.Its the pathetic "we need Prem Proven experience" bollocks they are obsessed with.
Wouldn’t that be something. He will win us PL next season.
Big reservations if he's not going to add better coaching staff
Remains to be seen how it will work out.
Doesn't matter who the club hires as manager, unless the scouting, recruitment and structure in the background is properly sorted out in terms of squad building and long term planning
You’ll still find a lot of fans on this forum that feel the recruitment team is incompetent. Doesn’t seem to be a consensus on this yet.All true, but don't we already have an encouraging track record from current management that it has sorted out scouting and recruitment? Lammens was a genius find, and although most of us knew about Cunha and Mbeumo it was still good work by the scouting and recruitment staff to secure their signatures. As for structure in the background, it seems at least on the surface that we're in a much better place now than we were under Woodbrain.
We already have improved, but agree unless they sign the DM, CM, Striker and fullback well it won’t be complete.Doesn't matter who the club hires as manager, unless the scouting, recruitment and structure in the background is properly sorted out in terms of squad building and long term planning
Luis Enrique, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Carlo Ancelotti. None really achievable. The negativity in here is weird. I doubt there is a manager in the world who would have done better with the squad available. That doesn't guarantee future success but replacing Carrick without seeing if he can continue the success would be a very odd decision. Doubly so given the alternatives.
It has definitely improved but until the midfield is sorted out plus the two other i believe is needed (striker, and fullback who can play either side) than I can see people complaining. Until we are a complete 11 I could see people complainingYou’ll still find a lot of fans on this forum that feel the recruitment team is incompetent. Doesn’t seem to be a consensus on this yet.
Good point. He needs to stay.Who would you replace Steve Holland with?
Nah only one with regret in that case eventually would be Liverpool for United it would be bullet dodged .We already have improved, but agree unless they sign the DM, CM, Striker and fullback well it won’t be complete.

Nagelsman will probably end up going to Liverpool and we might regret it.

Like with every manager. Who was your pick then?Remains to be seen
Exactly. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. He’s done very well. Let’s give him this transfer window and see how he progresses the team further. The negativity in here is weird. We've made a mistake.
- Posing in front of trophies he won as a player not a manager
- Wearing blue
- arms folded showing closedness
He is staying reportedly.Good point. He needs to stay.
Sounds to me like you are bothered since you've mentioned it.Btw, I don't get the calls in here for Carrick to upgrade his coaching staff. I couldn't care less about who is on his coaching staff. The buck stops with Carrickhe, has the option, obviously, to bring in whoever he wants to join his staff, but it doesn't matter since he is in charge, and ultimately he will be held accountable for the results and the outcomes of his decisions

State of this postWe beat City and Arsenal at the start of Carrick’s tenure. Those were our two best performances by far.
We were shit against 10 man Spurs and Chelsea.
I wouldn’t bet on us to beat any top 8 team if we played them tomorrow.

I get the scepticism due to our performances dropping after the two stellar games against City and Arsenal, but then you remember Carrick pretty much beat every top team in the country. 'Biggest' scalps he's missing seem to be Bournemouth and BrightonState of this post![]()
Do you know anything about him? Or is it just because we were linked with him and he’s at Bayern?Go and get that guy from Bayern

It's not as if we've beaten Liverpool, Brentford, Villa or Chelsea recently..We beat City and Arsenal at the start of Carrick’s tenure. Those were our two best performances by far.

He said he wouldn't expect us to beat any of the top 8 tomorrow. We've beaten plenty recently.Performances weren’t great though were they? Especially in the second half vs Pool or against Chelsea. Come to think of it, Brentford left OT wondering how they didn’t get anything out of the game as well. Results have been better than performances.
If we can win playing poorly, then what will we be like if we play well?Performances weren’t great though were they? Especially in the second half vs Pool or against Chelsea.
