Football Club Midtjylland - nicknamed Ulvene (The Wolves) and FCM - are a professional football club based in Herning and Ikast in the Western part of Jutland, Denmark. They were founded Johnny Rune and Steen Hessel - who wanted to unite the football clubs Ikast FS (founded 1935) and Herning Fremad (founded 1918) – clubs that for decades had been strong rivals, but had never played any significant role in Danish football. Ikast FS had some success in the late 70s and 80s, but that was about it. At least 10 years had passed with the two clubs being unable to agree on a merger, but on 6 April 1999, a deal was finalized and announced at a press conference the next day. In 2000 FC Midtjylland were promoted to the Danish Superliga, after a season in which the team had gathered more points than any other team in the history of the 1st division. In the 2014/ 2015 season of the Danish Superliga, FC Midtjylland were able to win their first major trophy as they took home the Danish Championship. During the season FC Midtjylland achieved an impressive 15 straight home ground victories on MCH Arena. The club is also famous for its 'Moneyball' approach when it comes to statistical analysis, and the recruitment of players.

FCM haven't won their last 3 away games and have only won 1 of their last 5, they were cruising at the top earlier in the season but now have slipped to 3rd. However, I fear a relaxed attitude from us will result in an embarrassment. We should win this but under LVG we never know.

Don't want to break anyone's heart, but I don't think we have any chance to win this competition regardless.

I smell a Wayne Rooney hat trick. Brugge style.

Boom and we're back - no danger here.

    Really?

Best play our tallest team then if we want a result.
They put a lot of work into them (analysis, training, etc).
Could have changed, but remember something about them scoring 1 set-piece goal per game on average a year ago.

Low profile teams like these are bound to step up big time against us. We will have a difficult time at least in the away fixture I would think.

A team with an emphasis on set pieces, should go well...
Perhaps this is what LVG was saving Fellaini for.
He took the loss at Sunderland, so we could use Fellaini in Europe and increase our chances of a win.
    It all makes sense now.

I think it's time to come to the realization this is our best chance into the Champions League.
Do you honestly, logically believe that we can win this competition?
I actually think we have more chance of getting top 4 than beating all these European teams.

Send our kids and rest our senior team. I doubt we will be able to tell much difference in quality between those two groups anyway.

    Where the goals come from.
We absolutely have to go for this now, only chance of champions league football next season.

So I agree, play the kids. Or the ground staff, or maybe the caterers. Anybody but the bunch of fecking clowns currently masquerading as our first team.

Same. Spurs are in it too, and they've been much better than United this season.

Imagine us playing against a Dortmund, they would absolutely tear as a new one in regards to pace.

Schweini is out for another 2 weeks right?

    What about Varela and Jones?

ffs why is everyone always injured at this club? If Martial gets injured we are well and truly fecked.

I agree that this competition needs to be our priority (though we're unlikely to win it) so we should play our best side. Unfortunately I'm not sure we can put Warren Joyce and his team out there in mid-week, so we'll have to make do with some combination of the first team:

    De Gea
    Love Smalling Blind CBJ
    Scheidierlin
    Carrick Herrera
    Mata Rooney Martial

... and hope for the best.

We're not good enough to win the Europa League so I don't know what team to play. But we need to rotate a couple players somewhere.

    Start Memphis, Herrera + Pereira.

Van Gaal has pretty much said our only chance of Champions League is winning the UEFA Cup. If we lose this game...

We haven't got a cat in hells chance of winning the EL. The way we are playing we can't even guarantee EL football next season. What has he done to us?
