Mikel Arteta | Lego Pep watch

Would like to think at least one "proper" journalist would have the bollocks to ask him to defend himself over this. Absolutely disgraceful.

He'd do anything for a taste of sweet, sweet second place with no trophies.

Given how Arsenal keep buying chelsea players, they should just offer to be merged with chelsea football club. At least the arsenal fans can finally say they won something of significance recently

Spurs already look like a well drilled unit. Arsenal look the same old from last season- throwing random hopeful crosses into the box with no real creativity.

Should have the final piece of his puzzle now they've signed a striker.

Will be interesting to see what Arsenal do with him if they end up finishing 2nd (or lower) again.

My wife would love him because he always comes second.

It felt a bit odd that he was seen more as an Arsenal legend/hero more than an Everton one at the end of his playing career (or at least it felt so) but now I am very glad that he is fully associated with their club rather than Everton. I don't know anyone that likes him anymore.

Is he considered an Arsenal legened/Hero? I thought he had a few decent seasons with them and nothing special.

Maybe the wrong terminology but it feels like he was revered and remembered there more, yeah, at least to Everton fans.

Surely the fraud should be sacked after they get 2nd or third this season?

I doubt they will sack him not at least for a few more seasons as long as they are in the champions league. A good chunk of the fanbase treat him like he can do nothing wrong and always come of with excuses for why they don't win anything of significance.

I have a theory about Arteta

he's such a momentous cnut he won't ever win the PL after being at a club more than 2 or 3 seasons, because all the players will start resenting him

they'll say he's great in public but secretly hate him, like everyone else

He is a bit of a twat like, it's hard to deny, but him being liked by rival fans or ex clubs are the least of my worries with him.

Let’s smash him and his team the first game of the season. Right in front of our own fans

First six games of the new season
United (A)
Leeds (H)
Liverpool (A)
Forest (H)
City (H)
Newcastle (A)

Will pressure be put on him if they have a poor start?

I think so, from what I'm seeing this summer it seems a lot of the fan base won't have a lot of patience. It seems we are very good at making a toxic environment.

Do you feel he'll get the sack if he doesn't deliver a big trophy next season?

Think it all depends on context. He gets 85+ points and a minimum quarter final in the Champions League, I doubt the board sack him regardless of domestic cup runs.

A large proportion of the support might think it's time for change mind you. Maybe he might think it's time for a change himself.

Having watched the pre season games, I do have concerns tactically with the personnel we currently have and how they are used that at times our nemesis of mid - low blocks will continue to be a struggle.

I think 2nd would actually be a great season for you this year given how strong Liverpool and Chelsea look, and of course City could click or a wildcard could come into things too.

I do have my own concerns about Arsenal just now, and things that I would have liked to have addressed going into this season, I'm not sure those will have been addressed fully, so in that way I can understand some fans frustrations, but yeah, i also do think support fail to take into account rivals business and potential for improvement as well.
