Mikel Arteta | Lego Pep watch

I don't think this is that surprising. They'll likely be making less risky passes than attacking players.

I remember there being a stat ages ago where Makelele had the best passing stats in terms of % completed, but the average distance was like 5 yards.

Given how competitive the pl is now, I wouldn't be surprised if more teams focus on efficiency and sacrifice attractive football.

I think Leon Britton at Swansea had similar stats some time back.

Actually wild at the booing full time.

Pathetic urchins. What the actual feck was that? We've been playing shit and United just beat City.

So so many of of fans need to hang their heads in shame.

That was disgraceful behaviour.

We have this reputation for a reason and now it's on full display.

fecking cnuts.
I couldn't believe it if I'm honest.

If he doesn’t win the league, at least he can say he achieved something that I thought nobody could.

He’s somehow managed to take Arsenal to the point where they are a more hated club than Manchester United.

A few internet posts ….

Felt dirty wanting Man Utd to win, but Arsenal are just vile in every possible way.

Forgive me father for I have sinned. Today I actively celebrated a Man Utd goal by Cunha.

My dislike for Arsenal under Arteta knows no bounds.

Dislike Man Utd like most but cannot fvcking stand Arteta…surely he has to win it this season given the amount he spends year on year

Can't belive I'm actually supporting Utd! Can't stand Arsenal and Arteta.

I think it's helped by the fact you're not challenging for the league. Neutrals would have very different opinions on United if you were close to winning a title

Title races aren't meant to be a stroll but it just feels like he won't get them over the line.

Fine at the back but they don't score or create enough up front, get too emotional and panic when the pressure's on.

If 115 FC win another title surely Arteta will walk.

He's an absolutely pathetic coward and his pathetic cowardly football is starting to cost them.

Is that three wins in their last eight games now?

He psyched himself after that 22/23 collapse and their football has gotten progressively worse ever since.

Last season they got 11 draws, this season they are already on 7. Had they swung for the fences in those games and gotten 3 wins and 4 losses instead, they would still be 2 points better off. Whats the point of having supposedly the best CB duo and DM in the league if you cant throw the kitchen sink at the opponents in losing/drawing scenario?

Just thought i'd have a look, of the 7 draws, 3 were games we were leading in, vs Sunderland, Brentford & Wolves, & 2 of those were injury time equalisers.

2 were games we were losing in, vs City & Chelsea, although Chelsea was against 10 men.

2 were goalless, vs Liverpool & Forest.

Of the 3 games we've lost, we lost to goals scored in the 83rd Min vs Liverpool, in the 95th min vs Villa, & the 87th min vs Man Utd.

I'm not sure exactly what this tells us, but we defo seem to have more of an issue managing the last 10 mins or so of games.

Maybe it's 'bottle', maybe it's tactical, maybe it's just saying playing marginal football will see you on the end of marginal results too often, i don't know.

The more I see his team crumple under pressure the more amazed I am he managed to win the FA cup all those years ago.

Already throwing the team under the bus? Saying if they can't deal with the pressure they're at the wrong club

Prick needs to take a look in the mirror with his shit tactics.

He's definitely tried to put a lid on himself a bit more in interviews and on the sidelines recently, but the manic tension that comes naturally to him must affect the players sometimes.

And I don't see how headlines like 'If you can't cope with the pressure then leave' really helps now, it's not like the players that aren't coping can go anywhere anyway, it surely just wracks up the anxiety levels for some of them.

I mean that's not at all what he was saying. He was saying to embrace the 'noise' and how it's all part of challenging for major honours.
That doesn't make a good clickbait headline though.

He used the words "If not, go and do something else, be part of another, different club" when talking about the pressure of being in a title race. So no, it's not "not at all what he was saying"

Yes but it doesn't take a genius to work out he's trying to fire up the squad and get them to embrace the pressure, and not just pushing them under a bus like some aggravated news sites are implying.

Arsenal are quite lucky that it's international break after that second half performance.

Took him until the 83rd minute of losing a cup final 2-0 to even think about doing anything other than 4 CBs and 2 DMs.

Weird set up. They started OK, then when they couldn't score after 20 mins just frozen and resorted to time wasting.

He can't coach an attack. They'll surely win the league because they've been the best defensively but I'd be amazed if they retain it.

They are incredibly lucky this season that no teams thats supposed to be challenging have been even half decent.

I feel like he has to win every game to placate the Arsenal fanbase, because when they don’t win a given game, their fanbase seems to basically admit the football is shocking and a dreadful watch.

Prime City from few years ago would stop them from winning it like they did in 2023 and 2024. Prime Liverpool under Klopp as well. Slot's Liverpool did last season. But as you say there's no real challenger this season, City are bit better version that last season which was Pep's worst in years.

Seems a bit crazy to me that he hasn’t given Dowman a single minute in the two matches since his influence on the Everton match.
