U13s competed at the Diepholtz Cup yesterday, an indoor tournament in Germany. They finished 9th with a record of 3 wins (3-0 & 2-0 vs PSV & 2-1 vs Hertha Berlin) & 3 losses (0-3 vs BVB, 1-4 vs Ajax & 1-2 vs Frankfurt). Ben Molloy finished as the tournament's top scorer with 6 goals.
Next week the U15s go in the MTU Cup. Jaice Dore, recently back from injury, will be part of the squad.

It isnt out of the realms of possibility that theyve used the first team nutritionist and now feel there's room in the budget for the academy to have their own again.
It is a false narrative that we don't have budget for this or putting academy football on tv
U21s lost 4-1 at Solihull Moors in the National League Cup last night. Still one game left to play but they can't qualify from the group now.

U21s lost 3-1 to Kaizer chiefs in a friendly yesterday.
U18s currently winning 2-0 against Liverpool. Bendito Mantato and JJ Gabriel with the goals. On MUTV but the broadcast cut out for 10 minutes during the half and lost comms for most of it.

Sort of. In England it would be but because we do our age groups differently to everywhere else, he's too old for this tournament.

Our u16s lost 5-0 to Liverpool
U15s beat Stuttgart 3-2 in their final group game. Goals from Lyne, Soares & then Mantato with one second left.
United top their group with 5/5 wins and now go into a second group phase, this time with 4 teams: Eintracht Frankfurt, Sudeva Delhi & Bayern. Top two go through to the knockouts.

We've never really been good at this tournament, right? Some decent performances but I don't remember us having a deep run.

Yeah, it’s their second year at the tournament I believe. They lost to Chelsea, drew with Leipzig & then beat FC Dallas + the two local amateur sides.

We came 3rd in 2022 but that was with two players with questionable ages that played a big role in that placement.

Yes. I think they would've likely been 1 year older than the tournament limit at the time, going off evidence.
Actually, it's Dortmund & not Bayern we play.
U15s start day two of the MTU Cup with a 1-0 loss to Dortmund & 1-1 draw with Frankfurt. Not sure who scored in the Frankfurt game because there was a live interview with Bayern's coach at the same time as the game and they decided to show that instead..

BVB beat Frankfurt 3-1. Now on United to beat Sudeva & by enough goals..
United beat Sudeva Delhi 3-1 but miss out on GD. Really unfortunate because they were absolutely oustanding all tournament.
Oof, that's unlucky. Seems to be a good batch though, this tournament always highlights technical skills, so it's good to see us do well.
