Even match in the first half. But now its all Man United. We have used our wingers much better in the 2nd half and especially Ajayi has been impossible to handle for Leeds

I slowed down his shot to 0.25x speed on YouTube. It actually went through the top hole in the net and should have been a goal.

Keeper saves the penalty - but the rebound falls straight back to Gabriel who hammers the ball home

U21s will play Sunderland in the PL2 play-off RO16.

Stupid format means if we win this game we'll be away from home for any other game, despite finishing 2nd.

Any idea what’s happened with Reece Munro? Assuming it’s an injury but obviously we don’t get those kind of updates at academy level.

Do we have a good left back in the juniors or out on loan? We seem to have no one to replace Shaw now that we have seen that Dorgu is better in a forward position

Reported today in the Sun article, that his contract was extended to 2028.
That's great to hear, really hope Carrick or the next manager gives him a chance next season as Gore has the fierceness and passing range which Mainoo lacks so I believe they'd compliment each other really well. Also helps a lot that they played together in the youth teams.

Hoping a few players are given chances now that CL is done. Obi to get a couple of sub appearances as his game has been better and obviously lacey and maybe even thwaites.

Harry Amass is on loan. Diego Leon is in the reserves. Mantato can play left back but he's injured.

Yeah it seems a good opportunity now to get some sense of e.g. if Thwaites could actually be ready to step up next season (*doubt*), and also if Dorgu can do a good enough job at LB, or whether Utd might need to sign some cover there.

Cunha-Mantato would be a great pairing down the left hand side for their names alone. It just has to happen.

Don't forget Kukonki. At present he is far better than both Leon and Mantato at LB.
Yeah good point, very promising talent. Obviously physically ready for PL but still needs to work on his speed and technique. Hope he will have a good pre-season and gets some minutes in the first team next season.

His touch has seemed too often too loose/heavy when I've watched him recently. Not sure how much something like that improves, but it's something which would currently I think hold him back from being of use at first team level.

Currently leading 1-0 against palace in the u-21 quarter final.
Free kick taken by Lacey, after he was tripped in the first place, the goalie saves but Armer is there to head the rebound in

Dunno if it's just me but feels like Kamason has absolutely shot up in height while he was out injured.

Proper final boss of academy-level refs tonight

Great run by Kukonki, loses the ball which isn't cleared well, T Fletcher intervenes and Obi hits it into the bottom corner 2-0

Awful refereeing. Misses blatant fouls, yellow cards for nothing. Very annoying. Thwaites had to be subbed for fear of a second yellow

I've seen better reffing on Sunday mornings in the park. Blowing for random things, arguing with players, and letting handballs and agricultural tackles go unpunished. Very stressful viewing.

Apparently Final will be played at City's academy stadium

All these recent trophies and still they're so small time

It's just so tinpot.

Since 1990 only 5 FA Youth Cup finals have not been hosted at a club's main first-team stadium. 4 of those were hosted by City at their academy stadium & the other was at SGP due to COVID.

If there's anything that sums up the difference between the two clubs its this.

They have no respect or appreciation.

Basically a chavvy lottery winner of a club
