Miscellaneous Reserve/Youth News

Jack Fletcher has been invisible. Thwaites has done well.

FT. Good win

That Lacey post match comp gonna be ridiculous

Hell of a game.

Hope the scheduling of the final is sensible. Ordinarily it'd be next weekend but Youth Cup final on Thursday makes it tricky with a number of our squad involved.

One hell of a game.
Both defences, bar the goalies, were awful. Probably City had much better opportunities and should have scored 3-4 more goals, but so could have we.
As long as we won at the end.

Heskey was excellent for City, even on one leg

Btw, how awful was Harrison Parker for them? Was really pissed that he left us but doesn't seem to have progressed at all. Was having a look at Bluemoon forums and they don't rate him either.

He started the game with a reckless tackle, can't remember on who, should have been booked and wasn't.
Going forward he was not bad, I think he also had a decent shot on goal.
Defensively he was weak, like all the City defence (as was ours)

Why are we playing away from home against City and then Brighton when we finished above them?

Can anyone shed some light on the format? I'm very confused!!

I was delighted when he left as it was kind of related to getting the Fletcher twins in return.

At the time from what I’d seen and heard from others, he was a defender who is great on the ball but can’t actually defend so I never had big expectations.

Thought Lacey looks like the standout elite player for us. Moorhouse very good also, looked like a player that is beyond u21 now and needs another good loan. Bizzare but ultimately entertaining game with both defences all over the place but some really top talented players on both sides.

I thought it was bizarre of us to play Thwaites with Jack Fletcher in the midfield. Was always gonna get overrun, Tyler would’ve been the better choice ahead of Jack in that aspect, still Thwaites did really, really well i felt and held the ball well.

Also would have liked to see Kukonki ahead of Leon but Leon did fine against McAidoo who was good, the problem was at our right side.

Also Nypan did nothing to prove his hype, was quite shit.

Tbf we didn’t, we played with Thwaites, Jack Fletcher and Moorhouse in midfield. Moorhouse was meant to be an 8 but just didn’t do anything other than dribble with the ball.

Moorhouse was playing as ten though throughout the match, even positionally. I don’t think he was tactically playing as a 8. Regardless that is never been his strength too.

He wasn’t. They were playing two 8s, Jack Fletcher left and Moorhouse on the right. Moorhouse literally wore the 8 shirt. Fletcher even started higher before dropping back because Moorhouse wasn’t doing anything.

It’s never his strength because he never bothered to attempt to do anything apart from dribble and was clearly the problem in midfield. Not Fletcher. They overloaded our right side and dominated as Moorhouse (and Lacey) rarely did anything to support defensively.

What the feck has the jersey number he wore got anything to the position he played in?

Fletcher wore the 10 shirt so he was playing at ten then.

From what I watched it was clear that Moorhouse was the advanced one and Fletcher was playing a tad deeper.

We play position by shirt number, always have. If you haven’t figured that out then I’m not sure what to say.

Yes, Fletcher started as the most advanced like a 10. He dropped deeper as the match went on as Moorhouse didn’t do any defending and we were getting dominated.

I didn't know that and I have watched every (well) game for 20 years.

Read somewhere that Man City aren't playing in the KDB Cup. Which is pretty weird.

City got battered by Chelsea 5-1 in U18 PL final.

Aljofree and Sharpe have announced that they are leaving. That is expected. Feels like A LOT of players will be leaving.

If I'm guessing: Ashton Missin, Ethan Williams, Ethan Ennis, Victor Musa, Finley McAllister, Jack Moorhouse, Louis Jackson, Habeeb Ogunneye, Dermot Mee.
