Calling all true crime fans…

Ten part docuseries and I’m on episode one so far. The guy playing Jeff really does look like the sick cnut!

Watched the first episode last night, was decent. I don't know how they're going to keep it good for ten episodes though. Feels a bit long.

I’m about to start episode 4 and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Late night last night due to ‘just one more episode!’. Will try and watch the rest over the weekend.

It’s good, 5 episodes in so far. The guy playing Dahmer has done a convincing job. There’s one episode that’s mostly in sign language and subtitles so I found that difficult to follow as I’m always doing something else when I watch tv

This first episode is incredibly tense viewing!

Reckon there'll be a lot of flashback stuff and court case stuff?

Was rather impressed with the first episode. Seems to be quite binge worthy.

Liked it, has a really creepy atmosphere when Dahmer is in the scene so credit to the actor as well.

I really like how they focused on the incompetence of the cops, and the system, and the victims rather than just showing the killings.

Solid 8/10 show.

Annoying with the reviewers saying its bad. Ok a lot of stuff on netflix is poor, but this is one of the good ones i think. That netflix is so big i think there is agendas against it in the media.

Yeah those last minutes... I thought the cops were gonna feck it up.

Good first episode.
Yeah, because you know the premise of the show is how authorities messed it up soany times as well.

I've been watching this since yesterday and I can't even put into words how disturbing it is. I love that's it's not about glorifying Dahmer but also focuses on the victims and who they were.

I loved Mare & enjoyed his character, but I don’t think I would have ever put two & two together that they were the same actor without reading it.
Loved Mare of Easttown too. He was totally transformed for this role.
His death in there shocked me. I wasn't expecting it. I was very upset and didn't want to continue watching after that.

The actor, Evan Peters, has been a mainstay on American Horror Story, so he’s got playing a creepy character down pat.
Ah okay, haven't seen American Horror Story, ofcourse I only remembered him as Quicksilver :D

Edit: Oh yea he was also in Mare of Eastown. Saw that show on and off with my wife, he was good in that as well.

Putting Mare of Eastown spoilers in this thread is funny.

Totally necessary.
For MoE yes, but if you open that spoiler thinking it's about Dahmer and see MoE spoilers, it's a bit shit isn't it. Regardless of how old it is, you don't expect that in this thread.

Finished this Saturday evening. I'd say John Wayne Gracy series will be next maybe.

He was slated to be the next focus of Mindhunter until the show's plug got pulled.
Mindhunter was more about interviewing them and understanding them after the murders though. This is about Dahmer's life and (I've only seen 3 episodes) goes into detail on the murders and such. Dahmer was a twisted feck but Gracy was a whole other level. He goaded, tortured, and raped his victims before killing them, just not sure how you could put that on screen without it being gore porn.

Agree on the difference in perspective of the two shows & agree that Gacy would be a whole different level re: the sadism, etc.

e - And I am just a fecking idiot. It wasn't Gacy who was next on MH, it was the BTK killer.

Mare of Eastown was well made but cliched. We have seen it a million times and i guessed it half way through.

I actually had to go and look up the stuff with the Native kid in episode two cause I assumed it was made up, but nope, it wasn't, nuts.

Him being pulled over in episode three at night when he killed the guy going to the festival was bullshit, though, I think. From what I've read he never tried to actually transport him anywhere first.

I'm still a bit unsure on the series 4 episodes in. It's treading a really fine line between showing how evil he was and needlessly showing what he did to those poor victims as well as justification for him being the way he was. Dahmer led a pretty average life (by serial killer standards, anyway) as a child.

White privilege at its best. Guess because the neighbor was black they didn't pay too much attention to her concerns. They then get rewarded as if they were the victims. That really irked me. They could have saved so many lives if they had just listened.

Yeah.
I'm only 4 episodes in but he did target minorities because they were easier to cover up, right?
