Anyways, I think the natural outcome of this new tragedy is that Tennessee decides to weaken its gun laws further.

I don't think I have seen a bunch of educated citizens be so ridiculously brainwashed to think that military grade weapons are essential for survival, even if we consider the Civil War and American History. A futuristic world in which bots control human minds is usually seen in fiction, but in US, the amount of influence that narratives and propaganda have on people is staggering.
I believe some of the people can have their whole families be gunned down by lunatics, but they would still advocate for more guns.
