Morgan Rogers

Don’t get why Arsenal would want him for when they have Eze and Odegaard

We could go 442

———-Sesko
——-Cunha

Rogers - Fernandez - Mainoo - Bruno

Dropping Amad, Mbeumo and presumably Ederson on the bench

Solid looking & a stronger bench especially if you add a striker for competition like Mateta, Richarlison or Toney

And if we did go 442 its game on for the PL
Don’t know if you mean a straight 4-4-2 or a diamond but that system wouldn’t work for us. We need width if you meant diamond and Roger’s and Bruno LM/RM would be a waste of their talent.

Feels like the stereotype modern English transfer, moderate-decent talent, hugely over priced and will give you about 8-10 goals a season.

Hard for any fanbase to get too excited about that transfer.

If Arsenal are sniffing around him, Rashford needs to make an Instagram post kissing Arteta’s arse this time.

City, Arsenal, PSG..

Have they not seen his stats?

They probably see back to back double digit goal and assist seasons at 23 to go with strong workrate and durability. Played 109 matches over the last 2 seasons without injury

What stats exactly? Are we talking his G+A numbers which are actually quite good and consistent or advanced analytics?

I think he's a very good player personally and considering his age (and English / homegrown premium) easy to see why he's being talked about as an £80m player.

If you put him in the right team and cater to his strengths and cover his weaknesses, he’ll be very productive, more than 8 - 10 goals, a lot more.

Arsenal should move for him. Martinelli is not good enough and Trossard should be a squad player at best.

Plus he’d more likely play off the left where his shooting qualities are infinitely better than Martinelli and probably Trossard

He’s perfect for them and would be a big success there, and that team is custom made to allow him freedom of expression.

Arsenal probably beat PSG yesterday with a Morgan Rogers in their squad in all honesty

Maybe I haven't watched enough of Rogers, but wouldn't he be pretty similar to Eze for Arsenal? Maybe a bit more reliable with his long range shooting

Nah, he’s much more of a final third player; think more Lampard or Delli-Alli, but more Lampard. He’ll not hesitate to shoot in and around the box from any angle.

Where would Rodgers even fit at City. I can’t see them dropping Count Dooku, Cherki or Semenyo.

Given Arsenal and other clubs interest in Rogers, think utd are better served concentrating on the areas we really need natural fit signings.

Midfield x3, left back and hopefully another forward -natural left winger and/or another center forward.

And we are going to have to be quick and decisive. All of the other big clubs are going to be very busy in the market too with new managers in place and Arsenal looking to improve further.

I’d have Eze over Rogers. Eze at palace is and was better than Roger’s at Villa.
Based on what exactly?

Next season Rogers will almost guaranteed surpass Eze's goals & assists in less matches played. On top of that he's a much better asset both offensively and defensively due to his size and height. And he plays every match.

I hope he stays another season and I think he will, but the idea Eze was better than him is odd.

Hard to see him at Arsenal, he would have made sense as an alternative option to Odegaard as he plays that 10 role in a different way, but they signed Eze for that. And I don't see them getting rid of Odegaard.

If they did sell Odegaard this summer, you feel they'd try to find something more resembling a creative midfielder type rather than an attacker for that role, given they already have Eze. Arteta seems to favour ball retention players over messy high turnover players too.

He's also not really a winger so doesn't solve their left wing issue, would make far more sense to sign a specialist for that.

Eze is quite a big lad, not sure I buy that Rogers is somehow wayore physical than him. He is obviously more of a goal threat though, that would be a good thing for Arsenal given how they stifle any semblance of creativity in most of their forwards, no point buying a baller like Eze.

I wager Rogers is close to 4 inches taller.

They lack passing in midfield, surely they try to fix it.

The Athletic reporting that we’ll make a move for him when all of our other targets are purchased and we have the funds and resources - this is how I’m reading this anyhow? Hopefully I’m reading it right

Sounds more like they see him as a 'nice to have', rather than a priority at the moment.

Just read the article. This is my reading of it too. Doesn’t specifically mention that we’ll
make a move just more we rate him (as do a few other clubs it discusses). I’d think it would need a fair few things to fall into place perfectly for us to be in a position to pursue.

Its a pretty strange article to be honest it states he is likely to move and have all the the top Clubs as his admirers but then lists the reasons why most of them wont move for him .

Do we need him?
Right now, I'd rather invest that in Fernandes and Scott / Anderson
Would also rather pick up Hall before him

Just feel like he has to be low on our priorities

They arent saying we will make a move for him here.
