Morgan Rogers

Morgan Rogers is miles better than some posts on here make out but I still don't see why we're even looking at lw/am. Cunha and Dorgu are healthy options there imo, and we have Lacey who can step up there also. We're stuck with Mount as backup in the 0.0001% anything ever happens to the superhuman that is Bruno. Rogers himself is a good enough player for Utd but I just don't see the point in wasting resources on these positions this season. I also would assume we'd be getting Rogers for the lw even though his best season he's played mostly as a cam.

Because we want to go deep into four competitions. Coming off a World Cup summer and the amount of minutes the squad plays will go up by 2,500 minutes (similar to arsenal).

We need strength in depth, competition for places. That's what City and Arsenal have. Don't perform in training or in a match, you rightfully lose your place.

Sometimes we have flat performances and you need other options to come off the the bench and change things for you.

Lacey is a left footed right winger. Probably could play on the left, but apparently hasnt done so much in the youth/reserve teams.

The Athletic reporting that we’ll make a move for him when all of our other targets are purchased and we have the funds and resources - this is how I’m reading this anyhow? Hopefully I’m reading it right

Wonder what GOOD relationship means? They are close friends?

Surely we should be prioritising other positions where we're weaker first? Midfield's the obvious one which we clearly are focusing on, but I'd argue alll 4 defensive positions and striker are much more in need of strengthening/depth than either wing or attacking midfield.

Where would he start?

He’s not displacing Bruno, don’t see why we’d demote Cunha who we paid big bucks for last summer and who’s really stepped up under Carrick.

I’d have him, but it doesn’t make sense to me for the loney it’d take.

Even leaving aside any questions of quality and cost, I don't particularly get why this would be the profile of attacker we'd target.

I think he faces this problem if he moves to any side like Arsenal, Liverpool Utd etc.

Saw him linked with Arsenal, but don't see where he fits.

Would be a really bad signing. Not quite Mason Mount level of obviously dumb as he at least can stay fit, but yeah an obviously dumb signing that does not fit our needs.

Hes good, I dont rate him as an elite player and I wouldn't be too concerned if Arsenal got him.

Much rather Ndiaye

It's in reality £ 100 million though, even if I see people state £ 80 mill here.

ITKs have said the club was pretty clear on a £ 100 million valuation. The reason why that's been pitched as £ 80 mill is because Boro is owed 20% sell on.

He's also with 5 years remaining on his contract, without me thinking that's important these days.

I know a lot of us in here don't rate him, but that's a helluva list of clubs who are interested...

Still don’t fully understand where he plays. Is he 10…don’t see him as a winger. Maybe a hybrid between the two.

Cunha says hello

Not needed for me.

Arsenal would suit. He’d get in ahead of Martinelli and Trossard and be an upgrade

I'm not a fan. However he can play both positions and you need to be able to mix up your starting XI depending on the opposition, injuries and form.

Eze doesn't always start for arsenal, nor does odengaard, not does zubimendi or martinelli or gyokrores. The point being you need to have competition for places and not just look at the starting XI, asking where does he fit in.

I think it's a case of where does he fit in the squad i.e. what roles he could fill and what would he bring to Utd (for example) in terms of skillset that we currently don't have in the squad.

He mostly plays through the middle for Villa, I understand Martinelli & Trossard might be moved on. But, Rogers doesn't seem like a top level left winger, which is what Arsenal need.
That's true, but he's played 30 games on the wing for Villa and prior to that it was his main position. I think he'd be fine.

I think he is a good player but will be expensive. It only makes sense if we have money left and if he can play as a striker (Sesko back up), left winger or attacking midfielder (Bruno position).

Mount and Rashford plus money for Watkins and Rogers.

There's a chance Villa take it after Rashford did well there, and he'll be looking for a Champions League team if Barca don't want him.
