I think Cunha is comfortably a better player.
Even if he wasn't, what would the point in bringing Rogers in be? They have a similar playstyle, and you don't pay £80m for an identical player that would be a slight upgrade, especially not when we're desperate in other positions. This should be the absolute last position we sign players for.

I think he is a great player, and he is one that has been totally abused minutes wise. He is always on the pitch, even when it’s with duds like Sancho and Barkley, and then he is blamed for trying to do something himself.
If they want rid and the price is reasonable, he would be a great addition.
The problem is, we need 3 midfielders because we are letting Casemiro go and one of the two remaining is Ugarte.

He's a good player, but it's not as if he's got a release clause. Villa still have FFP issues and their whole summer shopping will probably rest on selling Rogers for £85m+. At that price I'd rather we go in hard for Diomande before he goes to Liverpool or PSG. Much more needed profile for us anyways.

I think it will he another summer of minimal risks from foreign leagues. Maybe the year after if things go well.
Would be genuinely braindead to spend £80m+ on him, unless we're planning to spend £400m+ in the summer. I think he's a great player, but we're not missing a player of his profile in the squad at all.

He has done well, and Diomande's stats at Leipzig are notably better than Sesko's were.
Last signing yes but if we had the money I’d never say no to extra quality attackers.
United are currently over-reliant on Cunha. He'll need resting next season with all the games and then United would be screwed. Rogers would step in without any hitch. The fact he can also cover for AM is a bonus.
People are also forgetting that he's still only 23 as well. He has already got impressive numbers 2 seasons in a row, and has plenty of time to kick on even further.
Being over reliant on Cunha is a Mbuemo and Amad problem at the moment though, not really a LW problem. If he could play both wings, it would make a but more sense.

Promote Lacey and use the cash elsewhere
Cunha, Mbeumo, Amad and Lacey is already barely enough at the tail end of this season. Lacey is still an emergency option at best. If ever Cunha is injured or needs a rest, which is inevitable with all the extra games next season, then United a screwed. More goalscoring options is 100% needed.
Arsenal often have the likes of Eze, Havertz, Jesus and Madueke on the bench...

3. He’s clocked just under 35kmph top speed so he’s quick enough and he’s a brilliant ball carrier.
4. He could play in the 10 just like Cunha and give Bruno a break occasionally.
5. He’s 23 and nowhere near his peak, he will only improve.
6. He and his Family are rumoured United Fans
Rumoured Fee is £80-85m over 5 years that’s £16-17m per season and I’d wager he will score and assist far more goals than Antony ever would.

We are not spending £400m this summer, possibly £250-275m and only if we sell the following players;
Hojlund(£37m), Rashford(£25m), Bayinder(£5m), Ugarte(£25m), Sell on Greenwood (£15m), Zirkzee(£28m) ,
T Collyer (£10m)
I think Rashford won’t be sold, maybe loaned or returns, the others I see all happening which is £120m add that to £150m we have budgeted for and you £270-280m
We need 6/7 players just to be able to compete next season.
We need a back up goalkeeper, Centre back, left back, Three midfielders, Left wing/10, an experienced back up Centre Forward.
If we buy Morgan Rogers £80m, then we have only £200m left to buy 5 players if we use R Vitek as back up GK.
And the window that right now looks the most affordable probably looks like this;

M Fernandez (£35m/relegation clause), Tonali/Toulchelmi (£80m), A Scott/Ederson (£40m), D Wellbeck/R Lewandowski(Free)

There’s no way we sign a left back AND a left winger as Dorgu will fill one of those roles as back up to either Shaw or Cunha, personally I hope it’s as back up to Cunha as I think Dorgu will be better playing further forward and offering a completely different threat to Cunha.
It’s quite clear now that Tonali isn’t happening and Carrick himself has said they’re not looking at centre backs so those can all be scratched off the list even though Sensei on a free does make perfect sense due to Martinez being an injury concern and Heaven still being very young.
There’s perfect value in Sam Johnstone on a free as a back up keeper as he’s PL proven, very experienced, played at international level, would class as homegrown due to coming through our academy and would surely jump at the chance to rejoin us in the same way Heaton did whilst Heaton can be third choice whilst doing his coaching badges and Vitek is loaned to a PL club.
There’s also perfect value in Raul Jimenez on a free as an experienced striker as again he’s PL proven and would most likely jump at the chance to join us even in a back up role as he’d get some PL minutes, CL minutes and definitely cup games for us.
That then allows us to move Onana, Bayindir, Malacia, Casemiro, Ugarte, Sancho, Rashford, Zirkzee and Hojlund all on to bring in extra funds and a massive lump off the wage bill which I think I worked out at being roughly £80 million a year in wages with that group and probably around £120 million in fees.
Let’s say we spend £70 million on Tchouameni, £70 million on Baleba and £40million on Mateus Fernandes if West Ham go down that’s £180 million to completely revamp our midfield for years to come and would allow us to go in for Lewis Hall from Newcastle who apparently need to sell some players for PSR compliance.
Even if we paid £50 million for Lewis Hall and had to pay a bit more for Tchouameni and Baleba we’re still looking at around the £250 million mark for players we’d bring in but it’s not unrealistic to see us doing it with the higher PL finish money, the CL money and the outgoings.
Won't pay more than 30m. He would be on the category of "taking a punt", and if it's not working, is still easy to sell.

We’ve managed Sesko’s minutes very well.. he hasn’t come here and hit the ground running. He’s been managed into the team and done so very well under Carrick. I’m not sure it would have landed the same under Amorim (but I’m not a fortune teller).
Sesko also had 2 seasons in the Bundesliga and is 3 years older than Diomande? All this counts. You’re asking a lot out of a kid who I wouldn’t class “generational talent”. It’s a risk.
Rogers on the other hand. Pretty much settles in straight away and is ready to be thrown in without adaptation minutes.
I am perhaps overly optimistic. But I think there is a good chance we will take the hit o n Mount and move him on and sell Amad. I think that would make sense.
In that case, Rogers AND a left winger would make sense.
It would leave us with Cunha, Rogers, Dorgu, Mbeumo and, say, Diomande, Sesko for three positions. There has been talk about bringing in an «experienced striker». Do we need that? Look at who PSG use up front. Or who Klopp used as backup for Firmino. Or who City use as backup for EBH. They never went and signed «a Welbeck», a Ighalo or some other old striker looking for a last pay check.
I’m fairly confident that Bruno will have to be a midfielder next season. We can’t continue forcing him to chase upfront. Others need to step up the output and Bruno is actually brilliant deeper. But then we need two really agile midfielders who can both sit and chase. Players like Scott, Garner, Tchouameni and Baleba makes sense just looking at what they are good at. Maybe Mateus Fernandes too.
(We probably also need an attacking full back.)

Hopefully United do manage to move Mount on, but I'd be very surprised if they sold Amad this summer - however poorly he's been playing recently. He is also still 23 and has done well recently enough that I don't think he'd be considered a complete write-off just yet. I suspect he'll be given next season to rediscover his form, before they consider selling him.
7. Bruno's replacement can get even more expensive or cost the same if we are to find his successor after he retires/moves on. Might as well buy in due time and ease him in/fight for a place with Cunha - there'll be plenty of games. Competition makes everyone sharper.
That would be me. There's loads of assumptions here that are all over the place.
- The numbers don't really tie out here. Greenwood would have to go for circa £70m and absolutely no one is buying Collyer for £10m.
- Remember we haven't actually paid for Sesko, we put that on credit, so I don't think the agreed transfer of Hojlund and whatever we get from Rashford is necessarily additive.
- I'm not sure why Vitek would come here as a back up, he's just played a full season and Lammens is undisputed no 1 after his first full season here.
- Last year 200m got us 3 players. The reports on the CM links tot up to about 200m.
- Senesi is well reported to agreed with spurs if they stay up. Where is this relegation clause for Fernandes coming from? Scott is not leaving for £40m, they signed him for £25m. I don't see the last two as serious options for us.
- If we spend £80m on Morgan Rogers, do you not think people will demand more for their players?
We need a winger 100%. Morgan Rogers is not a winger, he's not the right player at all for United and I think he'd be a huge waste of money. Good player, wrong for what we need
