Rogers, Hackney and Carrick - getting the squad back together (Middlesbrough).
He’s just not that great a player. This isn’t a top player who occasionally puts in the odd bad performance…he’s a poor performer who pulls the odd worldly. Put him the same bracket as your Jesse Lingards, Andros Townsends
His passing is consistently tragic. We all know he's completely unable to play incisive through balls, but even his basic short passing is comical. He was at 55% yesterday, 52% against Fulham and if you look at the actual passes on SofaScore he wasn't missing 30 yard rakers, it was 5 yards sideways balls. He always does.
It's funny that even he's realised how shit his basic passing is so he's just turned into a full on Forest Gump character. Run Morgan, run. Directly into a full-backs ankles.
I genuinely can't wait to sell him. Bring on those multi millions in the summer, I can't wait.
So sick of this guy trying to beat the whole of the opposition. Look up and pass man.
What winds me up most about him is he just doesn't do the simple stuff anymore. He just wants to be a highlight reel player and we just can't afford to have any player continually want to run around not releasing the ball or doing the simple stuff. He's infuriating.
That's just a handful. There's plenty more and they're almost all bad - although quite a few point out that he's been overplayed by Emery.I wouldn't miss him in the slightest, for the sort of money we'll likely be able to get for him we could easily improve the squad. I think his value has been massively overinflated due to a few good games for England, he has long spells where he's pretty awful
I feel a little sorry for him, we rely on him so much for moments of magic and it's not like we have many other players able to contribute to his output. But ultimately, he's just not good enough to be your go to star player.
His technical ability to score great goals is severely hampered by his technical ability to play a short pass and consistently control the ball at a basic level.
His physical ability to go on marauding runs is severely hampered by his lack of pace and woeful decision making.
Finally, his admirable mental ability to always try and get on the ball no matter how poorly he is playing is severely hampered by his tantrums and fondness to go down easily.
There comes a time when you have to cash in on players at the right time, especially as we desperately need money and I'm adamant, this summer is the time to do it. For a team who don't just rely on one outlet, he will do really well. Rogers is a good player, who we can get great money for.
I think Cunha is comfortably a better player.Is Cunha a better player? I really like Cunha, love his attitude actually, but Roger’s is a very good player also who can make things happen and there’s no harm having a few of those in your squad.
He’d be the type of signing City used to make to keep them ticking over as winners, big money yes, but similar to Grealish, as long as they deliver in the first season or two, and you win some big championships no one will care.
He's a good player, but it's not as if he's got a release clause. Villa still have FFP issues and their whole summer shopping will probably rest on selling Rogers for £85m+. At that price I'd rather we go in hard for Diomande before he goes to Liverpool or PSG. Much more needed profile for us anyways.
I think it will he another summer of minimal risks from foreign leagues. Maybe the year after if things go well.
Last signing yes but if we had the money I’d never say no to extra quality attackers.I think Cunha is comfortably a better player.
Even if he wasn't, what would the point in bringing Rogers in be? They have a similar playstyle, and you don't pay £80m for an identical player that would be a slight upgrade, especially not when we're desperate in other positions. This should be the absolute last position we sign players for.

Being over reliant on Cunha is a Mbuemo and Amad problem at the moment though, not really a LW problem. If he could play both wings, it would make a but more sense.United are currently over-reliant on Cunha. He'll need resting next season with all the games and then United would be screwed. Rogers would step in without any hitch. The fact he can also cover for AM is a bonus.
People are also forgetting that he's still only 23 as well. He has already got impressive numbers 2 seasons in a row, and has plenty of time to kick on even further.

Promote Lacey and use the cash elsewhere
I just don’t see Rogers as good enough to warrant more than 60mCunha, Mbeumo, Amad and Lacey is already barely enough at the tail end of this season. Lacey is still an emergency option at best. If ever Cunha is injured or needs a rest, which is inevitable with all the extra games next season, then United a screwed. More goalscoring options is 100% needed.
Arsenal often have the likes of Eze, Havertz, Jesus and Madueke on the bench...
Welbeck wont be free, he signed a new contractMorgan Rogers would be a smart investment ;
1. Carrick Knows him
2. He’s physically a beast and strong
3. He’s clocked just under 35kmph top speed so he’s quick enough and he’s a brilliant ball carrier.
4. He could play in the 10 just like Cunha and give Bruno a break occasionally.
5. He’s 23 and nowhere near his peak, he will only improve.
6. He and his Family are rumoured United Fans
Rumoured Fee is £80-85m over 5 years that’s £16-17m per season and I’d wager he will score and assist far more goals than Antony ever would.
Some fans are saying this is only an option if we are spending £400m?
We are not spending £400m this summer, possibly £250-275m and only if we sell the following players;
Hojlund(£37m), Rashford(£25m), Bayinder(£5m), Ugarte(£25m), Sell on Greenwood (£15m), Zirkzee(£28m) ,
T Collyer (£10m)
I think Rashford won’t be sold, maybe loaned or returns, the others I see all happening which is £120m add that to £150m we have budgeted for and you £270-280m
We need 6/7 players just to be able to compete next season.
We need a back up goalkeeper, Centre back, left back, Three midfielders, Left wing/10, an experienced back up Centre Forward.
If we buy Morgan Rogers £80m, then we have only £200m left to buy 5 players if we use R Vitek as back up GK.
And the window that right now looks the most affordable probably looks like this;
Nathaniel Brown(45m), Marco Senesi (Free),
M Fernandez (£35m/relegation clause), Tonali/Toulchelmi (£80m), A Scott/Ederson (£40m), D Wellbeck/R Lewandowski(Free)
+ Morgan Rgers £80m
No I don’t either. Crazy priceNot a starter, good squad signing though...but you dont pay these fees for a squad signing...non starter for me, dont believe we are after him at all
There’s no way we sign a left back AND a left winger as Dorgu will fill one of those roles as back up to either Shaw or Cunha, personally I hope it’s as back up to Cunha as I think Dorgu will be better playing further forward and offering a completely different threat to Cunha.Morgan Rogers would be a smart investment ;

"Minimal risks from foreign leagues" like Sesko?...
He has done well, and Diomande's stats at Leipzig are notably better than Sesko's were.

I am perhaps overly optimistic. But I think there is a good chance we will take the hit o n Mount and move him on and sell Amad. I think that would make sense.
30m for Morgan RogersWon't pay more than 30m. He would be on the category of "taking a punt", and if it's not working, is still easy to sell.
7. Bruno's replacement can get even more expensive or cost the same if we are to find his successor after he retires/moves on. Might as well buy in due time and ease him in/fight for a place with Cunha - there'll be plenty of games. Competition makes everyone sharper.Morgan Rogers would be a smart investment ;

We need a winger 100%. Morgan Rogers is not a winger, he's not the right player at all for United and I think he'd be a huge waste of money. Good player, wrong for what we needCunha, Mbeumo, Amad and Lacey is already barely enough at the tail end of this season. Lacey is still an emergency option at best. Replace a squad player for £100m?!This is probably more likely a signing only to replace Mount who will probably be sold, we need to consider homegrown quota too?
Yeah completely agree, think he could well be who we target next summer with view to replacing Bruno eventuallyReplace a squad player for £100m?!
This transfer only makes sense for if Bruno leaves, which I don't think happens now we've secured UCL next season.
