He said we weren't good enough to win it, not we're not good enough. In other words, we didn't play well enough to win it. Which is just an obvious, common-sense statement.
He would have said we didn't play well enough if that was his point.
It seems to me that he is referencing that we are good enough to have won the Europa league this year but not good enough to beat the really top CL teams like Seville and Liverpool!

Great news if DDG stays.

Lucky for us that Bayern are sorted for a keeper and RM, Barca need to strengthen in other areas.

I wonder if his relative lack of ball-playing ability also counts against him in the coaching fraternity.

You’re reading too much into it. It’s a generic statement. He’s hardly going to say ‘our team is good but we played shite’

He might have said that but he might also have used the words he used today. If I say we weren't good enough against Sevilla it's the same as if I say we didn't play well enough against Sevilla and i'm not misusing the English language.

Maybe he could say "we didn't perform over the two legs otherwise we could have made the final"

There is a fair hint of Jose underplaying our pedigree at times when it suits him to deflect from poor performances.

His kicking ability was great till 2 years ago and is still elite when he plays for Spain. I think we just don't have much organisation passing out of the back.

He implied that we are not good enough to win the CL in his press conference before the home tie aganst Sevilla.
Atrocious statement that was.
He showed that he believed it to be the case the way we were set up in the actual match.

Yeah!! He used "are" instead of "were". Another stick to beat Jose with.
Why did he use these 5 words? Why not those 7? It implies that Jose is that and this.

No wonder media writes nonsensical stories. People love cooked up stuff.

I bet this is the reason we get so few penalties. He needs to man up and start acting like a real Man Utd manager.

Mourinho will use anything to get more money to buy players, even if the team were good enough. It is what mangers do and Mourinho does it best.

Could be due to the fact we have such an injury prone and unsettled back 4 too. If we had a consistent back 4 maybe that would help. I really hope for two new defenders in the summer. A full-back and a center-back.

Yeah but he's not a sweeper-keeper though is he? I think his kicking is more than adequate but he isn't the sort of specialist that's now in vogue

It achieves the same purpose saying what he said and what you said.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

His distribution has slowly been getting worse the longer he's been here. VDS did the same thing - started off with fantastic distribution when he first joined us but by the time he'd finished it had noticeably declined. I'm not sure if it's something that we're doing wrong in the coaching (I'm 99% certain we've got a different goalkeeping coach since that time), but it's annoying that it happened with both of them.

MOURINHO FEELING BETTER THAN EVER

“My passion for the job is the same, nothing's changed there," he said. "Obviously I am much more mature. It's very difficult now to have something in my professional life that I am surprised with or I don't know how to react to. Everything for me now is like déjà vu.

"You just have to keep these motivational levels, because I believe that one day, a manager can say: it's enough, I don't want more. But, until a manager decides that, I think you get better and better."

Jose cited Jupp Heynckes, the 72-year-old Bayern Munich head coach who came back from retirement to lead his side to this year’s Bundesliga title and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, as an example of a manager who has improved with experience.

“He was retired. He was, I don't know, at home with the grandsons or enjoying his life and suddenly he comes back to football and he's even better than he was before," said an admiring Mourinho.

The 55-year-old Reds boss also told the press that he “for sure” expected to be managing into his sixties. Next month will mark two years of his tenure at Old Trafford and when he was asked whether he expected to be with United longer than any of his previous clubs, he responded: “I think so."

Mourinho, whose longest spell at one club so far was his first stint at Chelsea between 2004 and 2007, admitted: “In other clubs I was already thinking about, what next? I had things that I had to do.

“I had to go to Italy, for sure, and I had to go to Spain. There were things that I really wanted to do. At this moment, there is nothing that I have waiting for me around the corner. I don't want to do anything different than what I am doing now.”

Sunday’s game will be the 28th and final time Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger leads the Gunners out at Old Trafford and Mourinho referenced one of his rival's greatest achievements - the season when his side won the 2003/04 Premier League title without suffering a single defeat.

“I'm going to remember him as a big opponent, as the manager of the Invincibles," said Jose. "The Invincibles that I met when I arrived in the country in 2004, the Invincibles that made me a better coach. That's the way I will remember him."

Reptile.
I don't think reptiles deserve this. They area docile animals that love to bask in the sun and they eat stuff that pest us humans. Call him a housefly or something. They're constantly crashing into our faces, they don't do anything of note but are constantly buzzing around and they literally eat shit. Can't think of a more apt comparison to a tabloid journalist.
