Some general info about the disease in this thread.
Because it is politically incorrect to assume that a man wants to be identified as gay or bisexual, just because he has sex with another man. What's the point in that last line?
My bad, didn't even notice the elvis bit.Bloody hell read the context
No worriesMy bad, didn't even notice the elvis bit.
"It's the virus that kills, not the man deliberately spreading it"it is very funny to see people tiptoeing around the fact of its transmission. I can only imagine if this thing was only being transferred at gun ranges in the southern USA
Nice one way to crowbar in getting offended you miserable snowflake.it is very funny to see people tiptoeing around the fact of its transmission. I can only imagine if this thing was only being transferred at gun ranges in the southern USA
But I am offendedNice one way to crowbar in getting offended you miserable snowflake.
No pedofile or rape jokes, should go without saying but I know what some of you are like.I'll give the same advice I got when I had chickenpox - should have worn a condom.
These facts?it is very funny to see people tiptoeing around the fact of its transmission. I can only imagine if this thing was only being transferred at gun ranges in the southern USA
Human-to-human transmission is thought to occur primarily through large respiratory droplets. Respiratory droplets generally cannot travel more than a few feet, so prolonged face-to-face contact is required. Other human-to-human methods of transmission include direct contact with body fluids or lesion material, and indirect contact with lesion material, such as through contaminated clothing or linens.

“Gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men”
Didn't you know that only gay people produce large respiratory droplets? These facts?
Gay people and southern gun enthusiastsDidn't you know that only gay people produce large respiratory droplets?
Do your research sheeple.
Feeling bad. Rashes, fever, aches, headache, chillsAre the people who have it sick? As in feeling bad, or are the just diagnosed as carrying it?
If you’re not gay or similar don’t need to worry about it“Gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men”
what is that last clause for? Pansexuals? Couldn’t/Shouldn’t they just have said “‘men who have sex with men” since it can cover gay and bisexual men anyway?
I think it's only in the UK it's been transferred that way.it is very funny to see people tiptoeing around the fact of its transmission. I can only imagine if this thing was only being transferred at gun ranges in the southern USA
Yeah, it’s badly worded. Unless they’re adding in gay/bisexual to include women? Which they almost certainly aren’t.“Gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men”
what is that last clause for? Pansexuals? Couldn’t/Shouldn’t they just have said “‘men who have sex with men” since it can cover gay and bisexual men anyway?
There are men who have sex with men who don't identify as gay or bisexual. Then there are male prostitutes or male porn stars who have sex with men but don't necessarily have to be gay, for example.Yeah, it’s badly worded. Unless they’re adding in gay/bisexual to include women? Which they almost certainly aren’t.
The point being they didn’t need to use the words “gay or bisexual”. Just say “men who have sex with men” and be done with it.There are men who have sex with men who don't identify as gay or bisexual. Then there are male prostitutes or male porn stars who have sex with men but don't necessarily have to be gay, for example.
Maybe they we're wary of trans men feeling excluded by that. No idea, it's a pretty weird statement either wayThe point being they didn’t need to use the words “gay or bisexual”. Just say “men who have sex with men” and be done with it.
Oh right, yes I see. I hadn't read the previous post closely enough. The point being they didn’t need to use the words “gay or bisexual”. Just say “men who have sex with men” and be done with it.
Gay and bisexual also covers women. And I guess straight men can still have sex with men even if they’re not gay? Dunno“Gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men”
what is that last clause for? Pansexuals? Couldn’t/Shouldn’t they just have said “‘men who have sex with men” since it can cover gay and bisexual men anyway?
Why it's not called ratpox then?So it comes from rats and rodents and has made the jump to humans. I wonder how....
Dunno, probably already one or something. Why it's not called ratpox then?
Apparently first isolated in the lab in monkeys. Why it's not called ratpox then?
Did they inject it into the monkey though? If so that's cheating a bit cos the monkeys aren't really to blame. Also that way they could give try and make diseases sound more terrifying by injecting it into cobras or scorpions and isolating it in them.Apparently first isolated in the lab in monkeys.
See I thought this, but I feel their wording does the opposite, as it does not include trans women who have sex with cis men…right? As for then saying “men who have sex with men” don’t we then open it up to trans men having sex with cis men? And then should the wording not be “people having unprotected sex” since that is really the action they’re concerned about (I think, not a doctor). But it seems like they’re targeting men as @Pogue Mahone said, so it’s odd.Maybe they we're wary of trans men feeling excluded by that. No idea, it's a pretty weird statement either way
You might be onto something.Did they inject it into the monkey though? If so that's cheating a bit cos the monkeys aren't really to blame. Also that way they could give try and make diseases sound more terrifying by injecting it into cobras or scorpions and isolating it in them.
