As a distraction from the never ending Ole threads, thought would be interesting to look back through transfer windows with hindsight to rate signings without paying attention to transfer fee and/or wage. Relegated clubs not included. This season is a bit too soon but who are the top 3 standout signings when assessed today? Each club's record signing from last summer window is below:

ArsenalThomas Partey
Aston VillaOllie Watkins
BrightonJakub Moder
BurnleyDale Stephens
ChelseaHavertz
Crystal PalaceEberechi Eze
EvertonBen Godfrey
LeedsRodrigo
LeicesterWesley Fofana
LiverpoolDiogo Jota
Man CityRuben Dias
UnitedDonny
NewcastleCallum Wilson
SouthamptonKyle Walker-Peters
TottenhamLo Celso
West HamSaid Benhrama
WolvesFabio Silva

Actually is very hard to pick a top 3 for me, a lot of these guys have been great for their clubs. Shout out in particular to Eze, he looks a great find by Palace.
  1. Dias - top player and so young for a CB, has to be in the top 3.
  2. Fofana - all CL teams will be all over him if he recovers well from injury
  3. Wilson - I didn't actually realise with all the negativity around Newcastle how good he's been, he's on 15 goals, 5 assists from 30 PL games. Under Bruce's football, that is phenomenal.

Why list record signings only? Especially if price is not supposed to matter. A free or low transfer could be the best signing performance wise.

I'll go for Dias, Fofana, Soucek and throw in Lingard at Westham for good measure.

Just thought it'd be too many names to be productive to be honest!
