Thats not actually true - if the club became a proper PLC again then shares would be openly available to fans as they were in the past. I'd be happy to go back to that model and be a proper shareholder of the club again, although the huge rise in value of the club will make it difficult for the fans to ever have a meaningful stake.I'll give credit to them they've lasted this long but if they couldnt stop the glazers when the club was under a billion, good luck stopping them now
I also found it kind of ironic that this organisation drifted off into nothingness for those few years when LVG and Mourinho bought absolute dross at stupid money (completely made a mockery of the argument the owners bled the club dry) and now that the club have started making strategic signings again, they've reared their head.
Having seen the shambles that are Barcelona and Madrid (purportedly fan owned clubs), the rubbish Bayern have done over the weekend to appease the fans and the state of this forum over the summer/transfer window, the further fans can be removed from running the club, the better. United will be a near billion pound business in the next 5 years. Unless United can be setup like a normal PLC company, then fan ownership should not exist. Even then, the shares would be snapped up by savvy investors before fans could even get close.
