Nik is joined by special guest and Man United Women's season ticket holder Natalie for a deep dive into our Women's team.

We discuss Marc Skinner's new contract as
the WSL season reaches crunch time with 3 huge matches left to secure CL football.

Apologies for the poor sound quality on this one, Natalie had some issues with her mic

I enjoyed listening to that (you've acknowledged the sound issues, so I'll ignore them.)

It's good to hear a podcast dedicated to the women, and it touched on many of the discussions that are had here in the women's forum. Natalie's choice of player of the year (so far) was an interesting one, and I'm glad she put Miyazawa into the mix. Riviere was Natalie's choice, which I could understand, but I was surprised that it took Nik to mention Phallon and Maya. The fact is that so many (all?) have performed so well this season. It's a tough one. Four more clean sheets for PTJ please.

The podcast touched on attendances and I think this is a debate to be had. The official website heavily advertises the Old Trafford games but really does not push the games at LSV, or away games. We are also in the WFA Cup Final, and there's hardly a mention of it, presumably because the revenue does not go to the club. And then there is the ridiculous scheduling of matches - 8.15pm on a Sunday where the bulk of fans are children. Madness.

But, thanks for posting.

Glad to hear it went down well!

Skinner gets a load of stick but he has actually built a solid team with no real stand out player which is why there are several names that deserve a mention for POTY.

The club have been heavily promoting the big derby at Old Trafford, I will be there with a whole group of players from our grassroots club.
I assume attention will turn to Wembley and the cup final after that - it's sure to be a sell out anyway.

Scheduling this season has been a major issue though - i've struggled to watch some matches on TV nevermind live due to clash with grassroots commitments or Mens matches.

Interesting hearing Natalie talk about our best players this year - in a season where it really has been about the team, it's hard to pick one. Personally I'm leaning towards Hinata (though I bet I vote Phallon ). Miyazawa had been the epitomy of team player and done a lot to make us look us look a more cohesive team. It took Ella Toone's injury to see Hinata get a run of games, but that injury break ended up energising Ella as well. It's also the tricky bit of course, because with a midfield of Toone, Clinton, Hinata but without Janssen we don't have that defensive solidity that has been been our foundation this season - so who do drop in the tough games.

Nice timing on the podcast, by the way - better than talking about that match I've erased from my memory.

We were overdue having an update on MUWomen and this was the perfect timing with the PL dead rubbers and huge run of games coming up for Women

For me it's the defence that's excelled so I'm going for Phallon or Maya in her first year as captain for POTY

Fingers crossed for the big games tomorrow and especially Sunday
