We will have 4 CM for 2 spots if we get Baleba. MLS is a midfielder clearly. It absolutely won't work for him or for us to spend that much on him in addition to Baleba.
We dont need him anymore, and I doubt he is happy to play LB and is not really rated as one either. So this is dead
No chance we'll take him now. He's not an LB
We have to look at the post Bruno era as well, which could more than likely be a switch to 433. I Think this may be his last year if we it another barren year.

Maybe he fancies playing LB and CM hybrid like O Reilly
There are more young talent English midfielders such as Mainoo, Alex Scott, and Wharton. Even Elliot Anderson is still young. Him playing in midfield means he will need to compete with these players. I wonder if choosing midfield would be the right position for him. While there are not many left back out there in England, which means less competition. He already has the athleticsim and ability to dribble to be a full back, he just need to learn the positioning, defensive awareness, movement, and etc for a full back. IMO full back's positioning, defensive awareness, movement, and etc is the easiest to learn in comparison to more central positions like midfield, keeper, CB, and striker.
I'm utterly indifferent at the prospect of signing this guy. Never been particularly impressed by him beyond the fact that he's pretty good for his age. Doesn't strike me as a future world class talent at all.

No, I'm abroad with patchy internet connection. Guessing he was good? I'm just not sold on him based on what I've seen.
I wouldn't swap him for any of our (soon to be) 4 midfielders but maybe I'm just being giddy about our new signings.
Even if Zubimendi was shattered, he still lost his job to MLS at the end of the season and Zubimendi is one of the better DMs in the world even if he's a bit boring.
Any 19 year old taking his job probably has something about him.

Not a chance now Bruno has had a hamstring injury and how he's playing. Could see the reasoning prior for them if they want an attacker.
Apparently the Bruno injury isn't as bad as reported (by bitter Newcastle journos btw), but yeah it's not happening anyway and IF it did it'd be against Arteta's wishes which I just can't imagine even our higher ups being stupid enough to do.

He was never great before the injuries.
He did have a tough break though and was a young player.
I thought Malacia had some good games in ETH’s first season, Liverpool at home springs to mind, was a breath of fresh air in comparison to Shaw’s usual destruction by Salah.

Think the consensus on Malacia pre injury was that he was a successful signing for the price.
Should be starting for England, would make a much better partner for Rice than Anderson is, fantastic player.
He is only 19 and not yet cement a starting spot in Arsenal. He shows lots of promise and hope he can keep developing his game.

Rice (in particular), Zubimendi and Bruno have played a ridiculous amount of minutes over the last few years. Zubimendi was probably our POTS until his legs went from under him; he was not ready for the rigors of a full EPL season.
We will need all of Rice, MLS, Bruno, Zubimendi and Merino is we want to compete on all fronts.

Surely not? Can't imagine this would go down too well with Arsenal fans given he has been one of their better players in the last two games (and the CL final if you want to go back that far).
The thing is, it seems like it's you are the ones who want to sell. It's not like Chelsea, United or other clubs are poaching him - you're actively seeking to offload

Not sure why we'd baulk at this. Extremely press resistant and can play multiple positions. Crisp passer too.
Again this better not be the left back we’re after and he’s another centre mid. If there is legs in this, it’s an odd signing considering our midfield options are covered with recently sealing Baleba.

Because its not true.
Put it this way, we've spent the last 2 seasons shopping within the league, our 'number 1' target is Lewis Hall another Prem player but they want 70+ for him. Lewis Skelly is apparently available for around 50 mill but we aren't even interested, he's also started the season for Arsenal and started well.
Why is this thread still open. He's going nowhere!
So we paid 48m for Santos but won't pay 50m for a better player who also can play LB. Makes no sense.
