Myles Lewis-Skelly

I really like Calafiori at left back, he gives a good balance of being good on the ball vs being good of the ball. As much as I like Hincapie as well, he's much more weighted to the latter, and I feel it hinders our attacking play.
Calafiori is a cracking player. Fits perfectly into that modern role.

Sort of like a version of Cleverley if he were strong and not a shrinking violet but also couldn't strike a football?

Yes.

And Rayan got another cross in for Kroupi that hit Gabriel in the face from the shot. He's been Myles off the pace
Not been impressed with him as a left back and he’s too small - in the modern game better to have a bigger more athletic LB with better concentration - he was at fault for the first goal

That was my point then - the original poster saying that he’s pretty complete is an over exaggeration. A pretty complete player starts most games for teams, teenager or not.
Not if he’s in a squad which has other complete players ahead of him in the pecking order. Especially if those player are aged 23, 24 and 27.

That's the modern trend though. The smaller physical midfielders being shunted into fullback positions. Therefore when they are on the ball they can play and move into central midfield positions.

The smaller physical central midfielders will get eaten alive in the PL now with the way the game is going.

Heaven was younger when he played midfield. By the time he came on pre-season tour (which was the closest he came to our first team) he was a defender.

Lewis-Skelly was midfielder throughout his time in our academy. He got a couple games at LB just before he broke into the first team. It seems that Arteta saw the numerous injuries we were getting at LB at the time and asked our U21 Head Coach to play him there in anticipation of that being the position where he’d have a chance to break through.

Unless a team really wanted to play with an inverted LB, I can’t see them buying him to play in defence - I don’t think he’s at the level to play there long term. And I don’t see the point in United buying him while Mainoo is at the club. I think you could only develop one of them, certainly if Bruno is staying.
I thought Heaven played for the first team?

Feels like he will struggle in United’s defense. Our fullbacks are more exposed and our CB’s are not as dominant on the cover.

Apart from being good on the ball, I don’t see what he offers offensively as a full back. Certainly not dribbling, pace or crosses.

Decent squad option at best. Getting more out of him will require us to live with the consequences of playing him extensively while he figures out what he’s good at.

Yep. Arsenal tried to keep him but his mind was made to to leave.
Oh, that’s what you were getting at.

Yeah, we would have preferred for the promising player that came through our academy to sign a contract with us. I don’t think anyone disputes that.

No I was getting at he got closer to your first team then you suggested as he played for the first team.

You seem to be downplaying Heaven but the truth is the club didn’t want to lose him.

What are you talking about? I was answering someone who asked which position he played. I forgot that he played ten minutes for us in the league cup. Where have I downplayed him?

I don’t wear female underwear
It’s aight, this is a safe space. No judgement here.

I’m not quite sure where you got the idea I was downplaying Heaven from but you’re mistaken, Sir.

EDIT - I’ve just realised I assumed your gender from the fact that you don’t wear female underwear. I apologise if this was in error.

He'll come at an absolute premium because of all the hype he got last season. Stay well away, can get similar quality for half the price I would have thought.

How did he play?
Ok. Far from our worst player. Could have possibly been more alert on their first goal, but it was a very fortunate (for them) deflection and Madueke was far more at fault.

Funnily enough, I feel like we could have done with him in midfield today. Zubimendi has gone from brilliant in the first few months of the season to often among our poorest performers. I think today was his worst game and I’m pretty sure I said the same thing a couple games back.

The team around Miles was woeful today and he was the youngest player in the starting lineup, so it’s difficult to judge him at all.

Along with Saka, he seems to have injected some energy to their title charge. Door shut on this one or is this one of those too-little-too-late situations (like Pogba) where the boy is already convinced he's not fancied by the manager?

He would still be very interesting and shrewd pick up at £40m or less. Let’s hope Arteta drops him again for the season as he looked far better than Zubimendi on the weekend.

Skelly starts in the UCL semi final. In midfield.

After a great showing on the weekend in CM.

We shouldn’t turn our nose up at this guy, massive talent.

Is there a chance he's playing himself back into contention to stay? I really like him.

He's very good, think Arsenal have started to realise it too now sadly.
Yeah boat definitely sailed, ah well won't be getting our version of O Reilly in midfield, so hoping we go and try to get Hall from Newcastle

Talented, young, English, can play multiple positions, press resistance, always good option to go for if have chances.

But what is it with our fans, whenever young palyers have some off form or not played by their manager, everyone going on their back and said not good. Are we buying players on base on their last match form? And not their profile or attributes?

I wanted to sign him, however he's now back in favour

Think we still have a chance? We can offer him a starting spot guranteed here where in Ars he is playing second fiddle. The guy could potentially be a massive player in that midfield and i would prefer to sign him up over Tonali.
