NBA 2025-2026

NBC intro for NBA brings back some memories

OKC to repeat as champs if they avoid injuries.

Interesting game so far Rockets/Thunder. SGA very quiet first half.

Thought the Rockets were done half way through 1st OT, but they're back in it. Great game.

Great 1st game. Fitting that SGA won it with 2 free throws.

Great way to start the season. Jimmy Butler was immense and Steph chipped in with his usual 20+. Butler makes such a difference to the Dubs with the way he can get to the line. Getting to shoot more FTs than the Lakers in their building is definitely a little unusual for recent Warrior teams. Made all the difference tonight, especially when Butler and Curry go 24-24.

The Wemby Era is upon us, may god have mercy on the rest of the league

All excitement at the Grizzlies win is wiped away by the sober realization that we are all competing to be the team that gets gentleman swept by Wemby and the Spurs in the WCF

How do you even stop that. I would have thought AD would be one of the ones with a better shot than most in the league and he just got shredded along with Lively.

Maybe OKC/Houston can throw something at him, especially depending how they get reffed

Did not expect a season opening win at the Garden. Good debut for VJE despite the missed FTs at the end

This is against defensively strong Mavs team and AD/Lively in the paint. He even pulled some Allen Iverson kind of dribble shit on Lively and hit a 3-pointer despite the foul. Scary stuff.

Wemby is going to destroy the league
Came here to post that. Just watched the condensed game for a bit and it seems like he's yet again taken a huge step forward, while he already dominated (defensively) last season. Just a ridiculous player. Hoping he can stay healthy for an entire season now.

Not forgetting that Stephon Castle was rookie of the year, Dylan Harper is a number 2 pick and is already playing like a seasoned NBA player, and that's without factoring that De'Aaron Fox is back shortly. That's a hell of a Backcourt.

They went from Tre Jones/Malaki Branham/Blake Wesley to DeAaron Fox/Steph Castle/Dylan Harper in 2 years, it's crazy, it's like replacing Dalot, Shaw and Ugarte with Hakimi, Mendes and Caicedo.

Yeah, it's unreal. Spurs had been stacking up first round picks for a while. That was the story there. Multiple consecutive years of high multiple first round picks.

Did you know that the recruitment team that built the current OKC team is the same one that was responsible for building Spurs dynasties?

OKC is literally the team that San Antonio made.

Isn't that a bit short-sighted? Presti is the guy who vouched for Parker in 2001 but he was still low in the ranks back then. Robinson, Duncan and Ginobili were all already on the team by the time he joined the franchise. Unless you referred to other guys of course, but from all I've read and heard it's Presti who's behind the OKC rebuilding process and accumulation of picks.

Of course it massively helped them in both '97 and '23 to get the first overall pick against all odds, and even last year when they got the #2 overall.

Goes beyond it apparently - aside from the rigged poker games where he promoted them, was a knowing participant, and received a share of the take, apparently he was passing along info on Dame Lillard's availability to mobsters when it was questionable - had his partners bet unders and then made the decision to bench him.

The NBA has to be shitting itself. It's karma from never dealing properly with the Donaghy fallout.

Crazy start of the season along with some monster individual performances and Curry stealing all Gordon led headlines today. On the other hand, SGA with 26 free throws. Tbf it was double OT again, but still...

The most artificial MVP ever. SGA getting those freebies every game to pad his stats.

SGA getting worse than prime James Harden with the FTs. Ridiculous.

Steph never seems to age. Another brilliant performance at age 37.

The NBA are blatantly helping out SGA because they need a North American to be the face of the organisation. Guys like Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Doncic and now Wemby are dominating and so the NBA has been struggling for a long while to find that next American guy.

They're throwing their weight behind him, it's not even subtle.

His foul baiting is very annoying. It is changing the game, I wish they would make some adjustments to the rules.

Except he's a cheater so he doesn't.

In a way it seems hard to believe he d be the first one to use that trick. Or attempt to. The leaking of insider information about injuries etc though seems like it could lead to far more people getting swept up in this. They re making it sound like this is potentially just the tip of a very large and organized system.
