Neville - ‘’no style of play’’

Are they not meant to give us some insight into how the game was played, the strategies etc? It's like coming on here listening to them sometimes.
UK TV punditry is just awful - too much bloated ego and shit-stirring.

Agreed. Keane will acknowledge that we need better players up front, and then in the same breath insist they need to show a bit of quality up top.

I think top top players often have such a good intuitive understanding of the sport that they don’t understand those who don’t, and they aren’t useful in articulating the finer points of the game to the rest of us.
Keane seems to work far better in those podcast style appearances where he can be gruff and funny and chat shite in a more relaxed setting. As an official pundit he's fecking awful because half of the time it doesn't even feel like he watches the match.

I usually don't find what united legends say that irritating, I guess I just tune it out, but it did annoy me yesterday. There was effort, workrate, the players played like they cared and we had the better chances and XG against a City side in our worst season in the PL era. I didn't feel negative at all at the final whistle except maybe that we probably should have won but that was down to poor finishing/decision making rather than a lack of desire to win the game.

It does look like Neville really doesn't like Amorim. It kind of shone through the Ratcliffe interview he made as well.

Keane has become a parody of himself. He was treated as a grumpy pundit who doesnt like anything and he's acting up too much on that instead of giving genuine analysis and saying anything differenty to its their job and why are they hugging each other ffs and similar.

Neville's threatened by a younger coach who's not as shite-bollocks as he was.

I still have a bit of time for Keane's views. Gary on the other hand has become insufferably tedious about all things United.

Yeah, Keane I find easier to tolerate. He's a moaner but I think he's generally giving you his honest opinion, if a bit exaggerated. Neville on the other hand just says things.

Good find, thanks

Yesterday is the first time I’ve really noticed that he’ll criticise no matter what. Were doing everything he said we should do (including 3 at the back) and he’s now complaining about all the things he previously suggested himself

Yeah United still deserve criticism. No United team should be bottom half. It’s unacceptable. But we all need to also understand the context of what Amorim and INEOS have walked in to
There is a reason they failed emphatically as managers.
It's getting to a point where I am starting to think the only reason they were any good on the pitch for us was thanks to brilliant managers who managed to channel their utter stupidity.

Was a bit disgusting to watch all the hugging and friendly chat at the end of the game. Fergie would banish the players from the squad for that. Where’s the sense of rivalry gone. Games gone too soft and it’s like the players don’t give a crap.

They shouldn’t be even acknowledging international team mates in all honesty. Players should have walking down the tunnel upset. It really really annoys me, players are losers in all honesty who don’t give a toss.

Bring back two footers I say.

I watched on mute yesterday, it was bliss.

Turned off after the final whistle as i had no intertest listening to the United pile on clickbait bollocks.

Haha not that far but have a sense of pride for your club. You’d never see any of Fergies teams ever doing that. As Roy Keane says you’re going to war as they were under Fergie. Now there going to a tea party and crying if someone touches them and there for a catch-up.

It’s making me fall out of love with united in all honesty. I really hate seeing it. Theres better rivalries in Sunday league amateur football. Was disgusting to watch yesterday.

Now they go on social media and say sorry and we will do better next game. Do your f-in talking on the pitch. Shower of mammy boys is what united are at this moment in time.

Alright grandad.

All right Keano.

I can only imagine people who harp on endlessly about the olden days and how the game's gone too soft or chummy in recent times must've been totally oblivious to club football in the 60,70 and 80's or any other friggin era where opposition players and staff would routinely go on the piss up after games with their rivals.

They're paid to be negative because that generates more clicks and views and discussions. thanks for the service but they can all feck off and do one.

The reason why there’s no edge like there was in the 2000s is because that was the perfect storm of conditions. I don’t think you’ll see something like Ferguson vs Wenger for a while. They legitimately couldn’t stand eachother back then and no matter how hard Sky tries to make two top managers be at eachother like that (because they sure tried with Guardiola and Klopp), they can’t artificially create it.

Then you had Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira in central midfield against eachother. A bunch of the Class of 92 were United lads who made up the first team so they were invested. A bunch of Arsenal first team players had come through their academy so they were into it.

It was genuinely entertaining to watch but not every major rivalry has to be some blood feud like Keane wants it to be.

It’s probably the exception to the rule.

It's not surprising, we're 13th, these players aren't winners, they're losers

United/Amorim critics aside, he just bores the shit out of me. If you don't have anything insightful, positive or remotely intelligent to say maybe it is best you just shut up and find another gig.

Thought he was right yesterday, a dull game from start to finish.

Well, he was one of the factors to blame.

By contrast, Tim Howard spoke very intelligently about the game yesterday on NBC and actually discussed what we were trying to do tactically and how it was only the breakdown of our attacks on the final ball that stopped us winning.

All United ex players/pundits became negative pricks.
When you compare them with other pundits they really stand out in moaning and negativity. I watched all those guys whole their playing careers, loved them but today i can't stand them. Especially Neville.

You thought they were good on the pitch as a direct consequence of being...what, conventionally intelligent? Generally smart? Clever feckers (in a general, non-football sense)?

But now (after feck knows how many years) you have started to suspect this may not be the case?

This City team won everything over last few years and actually needed a win yesterday as they're in the top 4/5 race and they were hugging with United players, does that mean they're mammy boys as well? Because they've certainly proven over the years that they're winners.

Maybe I'd get your point if we lost but it was a 0-0 draw. Decent result and performance for this United side at this stage of Amorim's reign.

It's 2025 not 2005 and it's not Wenger vs Ferguson. Pep and Klopp had few amazing title races and still showed respect to each other on most of the occassions.

It's not surprising, we're 13th, these players aren't winners, they're losers

It’s also the same bunch who’ve won two trophies in two years and might win a third in three. Its never black and white.

The fact is there wasn’t much riding on the game yesterday. Despite what people want to remember not every derby has been the most intense game ever. The reason we remember certain ones is because they are the memorable ones.

The FA cup final last year was similarly tame and yet we won. So was that lack of blood and thunder also a lack of winning mentality?

Bought and paid for Nev was just sad that the side he cheerleads for, didn’t win. Then he could have talked about how ‘the best manager of all time” was finding a new direction and get all giddy about de Bruyne. It would have also been ideal because he could have stuck the boot in about United.

Just not the result he wanted, so he decides to go completely against what he has said previously (Bruno wasteful, no structure to their play) to a new argument (too static, no movement, Bruno best player on the pitch), so at least he can tick off one of his boxes.

He is genuinely terrible and only has money on his mind nowadays. He should stick to his conferences and investments and get out of football.

Sky must be advising their pundits incessantly on what they can do to keep engagement high; this PL season is their absolutely nightmare in terms of lack of intrigue, and the best they can do is get their pundits to dance. Quite sad, really.

Has he said that Pep is the best manager of all time? Outrageous if true.

Neville doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He got leathered every week with Valencia though so probably talking about past experience.

He did, it’s a line he said at the start of his own “podcast”. He is so hypocritical and protects his own personal interests to such a degree, that he is useless as a pundit.

No, he didn't. Don't be silly. He said a while ago that in 10-15-20 years from now, City may have the best manager of all time. Which isn't an outrageous claim (even with the asterisks), if Guardiola stays at City that long. He ranked SAF as the best very recently. It was Carragher who placed Guardiola at the top, but Carragher would never say Ferguson was No1.

No, he didn’t say that, you can hear it on his latest rant. He has been so disappointing on so many issues. It’s not silly to find him biased and clearly letting his own personal interests affect his opinions on TV (Superleague/City, his opinions on United and ownership depending on who is in charge, his relationship with England players etc…)

The latest is that suddenly United have too much structure and Bruno is the best player on the pitch, whereas before it was no structure and Bruno was wasteful.

He is on so many platforms that even he can’t keep track of his own opinions.

At the very least, he and Carragher need to be removed from their own clubs games. It’s tedious and they are overexposed as is.
